A Woman as Sharp as a Blade (1951)

The head of the Zhu Village is Zhu Chao Feng. His third son, Zhu Biao, is the chief henchman whose evil deeds know no bounds. Biao craves for the Third Madam of the Hu family. He sends a matchmaker but is rejected by the Hu patriarch. Third Madam is skilled in martial arts and is known as "The Long Hair Beauty." She is in love with Wang Ying. When Biao learns of this, he is enraged and puts pressure on the Hu patriarch, who gives in and consents to his marriage with his daughter. But Third Madam rejects him. Biao sends thugs to beat up Ying, but the Third Madam intervenes and saves her lover. Biao forces her to marry him by accusing her father of liaising with the bandits of Liangshan and threatening to inform the authorities. The bandits attack the Zhu fortress, but Hu and her daughter are imprisoned. Their only chance is to wait for Ying to rescue them. One day, she overhears that government soldiers have arrived to reinforce Zhu Village. She later discovers that the officer in charge is Ying in disguise.
