Hawaiian Boy (1959)

Eddie, a Hawaiii-born Filipino, levaes his birthplace for the Philippines in the company of Ronnie who believes that the former has better chances to be a successful singer in Manila. True enough, Eddie is a hit but as he scales the heights, Ronnie heads for the dumps because he has neglected his own career. Eddie is disgusted with Ronnie and parts company with him. When he realizes his ingratitude he tries to make amends. On the night of what turns out to be Ronnie's last ring fight, Eddie is reconciled with him.
