Demon
My Demon drama is really subtle, cute and fulfilling. The chemistry between the leads is portrayed very well and i like Do dohee's character. She gives the real boss bitch vibes and the demon's visuals are irresistible. Episode 1-6 are the best and do not skip them. I liked Ms Shin and Mr Park's chemistry but their relationship should have been less rushed. The last episode is nice and als kinda emotional. I wished if the director whould have shown Star Jin's love life too. There should have been more interactions of Noh Dogyeong with his mother. The little moments between dohee and guwon will definitely give you butterflies. The 15th episode was not that good as compared to others. The twists are well plotted and the god's arrival was unpredicted. I liked how the secret culprit was disclosed at the very end. Overall the drama was nice and is worth rewatching. Was this review helpful to you?
Loved the cast; lots of favourites. Soundtrack fit. Nice sets. Some been-here-before characters. A few very unnecessary tropes.
Overall I really enjoyed this. I so like Song Kang's acting ~ his eyes convey a lot of emotion, more than his voice sometimes and I love that.
Kim You-jung was very good; I liked her character, which is strong, smart and she picks her battles.
There was definitely chemistry between these 2 and they came across as pretty natural together.
I love supernatural stuff and this drama didn't skimp too much on that side of it, but at the same time there's also a very human story with it.
A totally dysfunctional family, with some ridiculously horrible and irritating members. One, whilst thoroughly bat poop and psychotic, I couldn't help but feel sorry for ~ a product of his environment.
Loved Cha Chung-hwa's role, which gave her somewhat important character, a very different (and surprisingly philosophical) take (she's so good too).
Quite a few twists, turns and surprises; occasionally what's possible (even for a fantasy) is thrown to the wind, to move the story forward, but all pretty forgivable for me.
There are a number of tropes I balk at when they turn up out of context and, unfortunately, some of these were SO obviously dumped in the latter episodes of this. Infuriated me, as unnecessary and it undermined the drama, at that point, I felt.
I also dislike childish humour shoved into genres in which it doesn't fit. There are so many dramas with clever, dark and/or well-timed naturally funny scenes, that show it isn't needed. Yet so many of the dramas I've watched recently seem to feature it. This really irritates me.
But, I got through this pretty quick and enjoyed it far more than not.

In Kim Yoo Jung, I trust!
Another win for Kim Yoo Yung’s filmography! Ain’t the best but still performs pretty well. Her influence and her previous projects captured my interest in adding the show to my list. She always delivers her characters with her utmost acting performances. Indeed, one of the most versatile actresses in the entertainment field.Story-wise, it has uniqueness but can’t help but get bored from time to time. Yet, one thing is for sure, I enjoyed the touch of comedy, especially from the supporting cast. If I have to pick the most intense and memorable scene, it has to be the ending of the third episode. I was screaming and clapping my hands from the tension when Do Do Hee realized that the death of Madam Ju was not caused by a health incident but more a case of murder in which one of the family members was the suspect. The execution was that good to keep me energetic the whole scene.
Then, many things happened, some are good yet some are just average. Jumping to the finale episode, I liked how they concluded the story of each character. A happy ending for the couple and the people around them. But I get too emotional from two characters. First is the oblivious mother who lost her son at the hands of the true evil personality of the story, her husband. She misses him so much but it is too late for her to save her son. Regret and moving forward are her only options. The second and the most wholesome finale was when Jin Ga Young saved a little girl from her abusive father. This particular scene burst me into tears knowing how she has the same past as the girl she accidentally met in the present. I love this scene.
I rarely watch Korean dramas nowadays since I felt like I would never experience the same wave of feelings from the K-dramas in the past, especially from the 2016 era of K-dramas. Yet, My Demon is one of the few dramas that I gave a shot and never regretted it. It is fun, cute, chaotic, and has a lot of emotion to offer. Song Kang’s acting also improved a lot too. I am not satisfied with the fantasy element but at least I enjoy the comedy and a little bit of romance from the show.

Solid take on a fantasy drama
I watched this show since the beginning and went through all the stages of the public adoring it then some hating it and the mob mentality some have. When I think about this show I remember the phrase "you don't need to reinvent the wheel, the wheel is just fine" and that is something that happens in about 80% of kdramas of multiple genres, especially fantasy when I have seen every show since goblin get accused of copying something. People love stories of CEOs, immortal creatures, time jumps etcetera so those continue to get written and what makes each shine are the approaches it one takes.
My demon did that, it got a lot of people back to kdramas or into them cause of the freshness of interactions between the leads, the undeniable chemistry, the way their acting perfectly suited the genre and the premise of the drama. And the way the characters made people fall in love.
At the end of the day it had it's flaws (mainly some plot points) and it had it's strong points. A light drama for a light watch which is a premise many drama lovers will surely love.

One of the most mediocre kdrama so far
It's just... mediocre. Copy pasted storyline and cliches, with different actors and actresses. I rarely watch kdrama, and I still feel bored to death.Let's start from the storyline, non-human ML who helps FL in distress. This one is a devil, the previous one was a goblin.
The acting is so-so. The actor is an eye candy, though. But it's cheap even for cheap entertainment.
The music is the best thing in this kdrama, I guess? But this isn't a musical drama. They should have put at least as much as attention they give to ost to the story.
Rewatch value? If I can give negative value, I would.

LOVED ITTTTTT
Honestly this show was so goooddddd. I was recommended to this show from my friend and it was the first k-drama I watched and I watched it again twice. I highly recommend this show. Song Kang's acting is 100% on point and is so gooooddddd!!! The story line was great but I feel like they could've elaborated on action than romance and yes it did have a lot of action but im the type of person that loves watching action packed dramas with a bit of romance and don't really like romance overpowering action which in this drama it was overpowering. But overall I really loved it.Was this review helpful to you?
Then in the last couple of episodes, the priest revieled what he heard in a confession . This is an act which can get him excommunicated from the Catholic Churches elsewhere for good. So I am guessing it is another church that only Koreans go to worship. Any Christian priest would never reveal confessional details to another individual. Except maybe under duress to law officials under extremely exceptional circumstance. So I am thinking did the story teller did enough research on this story details . Is that why it’s a mismatch of most popular K drama’s shown before. It’s watchable. Nothing special. I always watch Kim You Jung’s dramas . She has the best chemistry with any ML that’s for sure.

This one wasn't it for me.
I liked the premise. But towards the end I found it to be dragging a bit. It felt like too many murderers were involved in the plot line.I've come to the conclusion I'm not a Song Kang fan. When I see him interviewed he seems like a nice person, but most of his acting roles I'm not drawn to his character. When he's trying to be whimsical, romantic or silly he seemed so stiff and unnatural. When he was trying to portray being arrogant and aloof that also didn't seem to come naturally. The only times that it felt to me like he was really in character was when he was trying to be the most threatening or bad version of his character.
And I know culturally Korean fashion differs from where I am, but I feel like the costume designer had it out for Song Kang, because so many of his outfits the cut, the color, were so unflattering. That turtleneck in the last episode for instance. And there's one early episode where he's wearing a tan jacket that has a spot of blue tape on the back for quite a few scenes and no one caught it.
I hadn't seen two of the supporting characters in roles before - Lee Sang-Yi and Jo Hye-Joo, and I found myself hoping they would be in more dramas, because they both were a little unusual looking in a way that made them interesting to watch.
I'm not sure why he disintegrated when he did, because he didn't kill anybody. Also he didn't come back as human, so he's just going to hang around while she grows old and dies and he doesn't? That's kind of depressing.
I can't see myself ever rewatching this again in the future, and it's not one that I would recommend.

The esssence of what made k-dramas popular... maybe.
Cliché vomit, exposition vomit, and scenes with strange framing that just go unnoticed.I am no saying it is horrible at all, it works with the aspects of his own genre in the standard way possible. Predictable climax, ending, protagonists, subplots and behaviors you will find in different stories combined into one. The main problem is the lack of weight; there are no real consequences. The script that makes the story shallow, the kind anyone could write.
I could easily enjoy the mediocre chemistry of the lead couple besides their acting. Yoo Jung and Song Kang looked like they were only face and voice sounds, none of it felt real at any moment. Their acting was strongly regular, but it's not good enough as the script does not help. We could maybe blame Korea's production pace; nevertheless, it's way too naive. Some couples do have hard times developing on-screen chemistry, but... I don't follow Yoo Jung's work much, so her performance here is the only reference I have, and I'd say it's average. As for Song-Kang, he's done better work, definitely not one of his's best performances. I just can't stand it when they insist on giving him such easy roles that lead to the same old thing.. . The rest of the cast met general expectations: nothing remarkable.
If not, it also could be only the sript's fault and they did it better. ;-;
Overall it's a 'lazy afternoon drama' for when you want to be less critical and sensible. That 'so-so' we like sometimes. It has a good idea which makes the beggining cool, unlike the rest of it.

I don’t have enough words to describe how good this drama is!
One of the most beautiful and unique dramas I have ever watched. It’s insanely good. Unreal visuals. Insane chemistry. Unbelievably good story and original sound track. The OST is in my playlist on repeat. It’s beyond beautiful, emotional, magical, and powerful. It casts a spell on you. It lingers on your mind for days. It pulls you in from the very first episode and doesn’t let go until the very last one.
This is my opinion (so be kind) - it does not compare to any other k-drama (Goblin, Abyss, Doom at your service; which are all good). It’s beyond good! It sets the bar so high… It’s original. It makes you laugh, cry, gasp, experience heart palpitations and bunch of other sensations and emotions…
