Manten no Goal (2023)

Kawagishi Nao is a single mother who has returned to her hometown of Ine Town from Tokyo after being betrayed by her husband. Nao once dreamed of becoming a nurse and obtaining a license, but after her mother's death, she became afraid of death and gave up on that dream. Nao meets Mikami Takashi at the wake of an elderly neighbor. Mikami is an outsider and not at all like a doctor, but he is loved by the local elderly, including Kamoi Tokujin. One day, Nao notices that Hayakawa Junko, an elderly woman who used to be a nurse and lives nearby, has a connection with Mikami. There is a deep rift between the two due to an unfortunate incident in the past. As Hayakawa's death approaches, Nao makes a suggestion. It is also the first step towards a new life for Nao.
