A Meteor Called Dumbness Destroyed This Series
There is no mythos here; that went extent along with the dinosaurs. Instead, it is a jumbled incoherent mess of disorganized shifts of scenes packed with individuals for the most part that are astonishingly unlikeable, dumb as a box of rocks, naïve, and caricatures. Some are decidedly despicable creatures as well. The whole universe of this story centers around one of the densest characters I have ever seen. Not only is he naïve and remains so throughout, but he is also the biggest milqutoast and nebbish individual ever in any BL. There is only one character that is worth watching this series for and the only reason why this is not on my 10 worst BL list. That character is Charlam. Watch it for him and enjoy. You can read my full review at BLBliss.com.

Not good but not horrible
This series has a lot of bad reviews. There are several reasons and I agree with most. But overall, this was cute. You just have to ignore the bad acting, the cringey dialogue, the horrible editing, and chopped up story.I didn’t really see any chemistry between the leads. Maybe in one scene. This is my opinion but Dino was not a good kisser. It was like he was chewing on Rak. Plus the tongue was just gross. I didn’t see any passion.
Story was choppy. It had more drama in the beginning with the attempted rape and the cutting which was shocking. But that ended quickly. Never figured out who Sim was. Why include him? And Tart was obviously there to add drama and it didn’t work. He was too likable. Suea turned out to be the wise one, believe it or not.
Overall, bad, but I’m glad I watched it. If you look past everything and watch it for entertainment, it was actually pretty cute.

???

Bad acting
I watched the trailer to this but decided to give it a go.Wish I hadn't. Really below standard for a BL.
All the actors seemed on another planet. There were pauses between lines.. Rak was depressive.. No actors
really gelled.. As soon as I saw males dressed as females
the acting was over the top and it turns everything into a comedy and you can't take the series seriously. I'm not against trans actors as I have a grandson whose gay but
it really puts you off probably because it's not so prevalent in the Western dramas. All in all not a good view but that's only my opinion.

Misleading from the very beginning.
I won't say this series was bad but it certainly wasn't great. For the most part, I was confused and getting whiplash from all the different plot points they were trying to throw into a 10 episode series which really did not flow well together. And there were a lot of choices made that didn't feel like it would fit the character, whether it was a good or bad choice. The whole thing was just misleading from the get-go.Let's start with the first impression aspects: The movie poster and the synopsis. The dark, night-time city look of the poster gives off a dark, serious vibe akin to Big Dragon or KinnPorsche but the series was anything but serious or dark. The synopsis makes it sound like Dino is a bully type who stalks his prey when in reality, he was the nice guy protector to counter Rak's "helpless boy" type.
But even that didn't make sense because, actually, Rak was very vocal about his boundaries and his limits. If there's one thing I will say this series did right it was that Rak actually stood up for himself, at least verbally if not physically. He said "no" to the ex, he cut off the best friend after he found out about them, he set boundaries for them as well as himself when he continuously stood his ground in telling Dino "I'm not ready." And this kind of became important when Dino was clearly trying to get intimate and Rak was having flashbacks to the ex forcing himself on him. But this time, when he tells Dino to wait, he listens, unlike the ex. It's pivotal in how Rak sees Dino and it shows that Dino respects Rak and his boundaries.
All that being said, I couldn't help but feel bad for Pepper in this role. I mean, he is a great actor and they paired him with someone who was.. well, not. I don't know if it was a director's thing or Kong's attempt as seeming insecure or if it was Kong himself, but his constant looking off to the side as if he's looking at a camera or crew member off screen was breaking the fourth wall, and not in the "funny because it was intentional" way. It made me think Kong was uncomfortable himself instead of it being a Rak, as the character, trait.
The entire cast, in fact, seemed to be a mixture of highly seasoned actors or the very basic first-timers with little in-between. The cameos made zero sense whatsoever and felt like they were just introduced for shits and giggles. Much like many of the short-lived storylines that were introduced for the drama then completely forgotten without much of a resolution. It felt like a young teenager, at best, wrote this with all the experience a teenage has with life and relationships.
I will say, the best cameo and character in this entire series was Pepper's tongue. Whenever it made an appearance, the show got 10x better each time. It was almost enough to make one ignore how obvious the difference was in experience between Pepper and Kong, and not just in acting.
It was clever, though, how they gave a bit of an intro to the other Buddy Line stories at the end because, at least for me, it made me curious how their stories would go. I just hope they get to work opposite actors that fit them better than Dino and Rak did.

What happened? What did I watch?
This series had some of the best actors and they wasted their talent with crappy writing.I liked the story at the beginning but by the end, I didn't know how the story was going to end and I still don't get it.
I would love to get with some people and rewrite this story because there was so much potential and then nothing.
Do not get me started on the kissing scenes. They had chemistry but what the heck. I do feel bad for the lead main male because he is a good actor but at times he looked too old.
I liked Chalarm but again talent wasted and not enough time to go into their story. I also still don't understand why Dino's people were fighting with other people and their one friend would set him up...like what?
I gave music a low score because I don't remember any music.

Just to balance the bad reviews
Was it problematic? I don't think so, threat of non consensual and self harm are drama, bl is life, life is drama. Some of the acting could've been tightened up, less of the main song repeat and for the love of... lose the 'funny' sound effects (or at least keep to a minimum) - and the Tart storyline seemed to be there because they wrote the original protaganists out. I feel like his part was maybe his original friend who slept with his boyfriend but (badly) recast.I also thought there were a couple of warning signs about Dino being too possessive but then understood that was actually what Rak wanted after his previous relationship - just by a couple of things he says to Dino (calls him Daddy, warns him off Please, tells him he submits to him - paraphrased).
I thought the chemistry was off the charts, not just between the two main leads but it felt like everyone really were best friends off set and that came through in the scenes and I can live with heart felt acting that might be less professional...
Though in all honesty it was the last two specials that made me re-evaluate the first 8 episodes in a more favourable light (not seen the Vietnam episode yet).
Solid 8/10 for me.

I enjoyed it
I don't know why there are so many bad reviews, I honestly enjoyed watching it, it is a standard BL to me. There needs to be a WARNING for episode 3, but I loved the main characters' chemistry; I thought it was so cute, and it made me all giddy. The storyline itself was okay, not the best, definitely not the worst that I have seen, but it did get boring in some areas. Overall I thought it was pretty good, the standard for the normal BLs that I have watched. The last two episodes were probably the best, the acting and storyline were better, and the chemistry was so cute, although I wished we had seen the few new characters at the end instead of a POV and maybe even seen a little more of those sub plots because I am so interested in them and seeing those characters in those scenarios, especially Chalarm.

Why wasn't the Music/Soundtrack Person fired?
I understand the heavy handed way many rom-coms use their soundtrack - background music - but, the person who was on Dinosaur Love was either on something or, is mentally unbalanced. Dear gawd why did they think that preschool music background was appropriate for 80 percent of the production?? It got to the point that I had to turn the volume down to level 4 - barely hearing it but, still feeling like I was part of not just watching it with subtitles to keep myself from throwing something at the screen. And, I found the OST main song to be way too similar to other productions. Because of its style and familiarity, I just started ignoring it. Give us something stronger like we here in A Tale of 1000 stars.I noticed the subtitle group does not know the difference between someone sighing and signing. Every time someone mentioned the other person's sighs - it shows up as signs. But, that is forgivable - and you get used to it.
Don't look for continuity. Dropped storylines. Disposable characters. Bad editing. It's all there. I appreciate the respect and waiting for consent. He needs it after Mek messed with him so much.
The acting is strong enough to carry everyone through all the episodes. And, you do care about a few of the characters. Some - you wish could be better developed but, it wasn't on the writer's minds and the director wasn't paying attention.
This particular series seems to pay attention to its larger - female audience and discounts any feelings or, connections a young man may be looking for. They can understand being abused by bullies and controlling partners. They may be able to connect with absentee parents. I love that they have given everyone a safe group of friends (very important during high school and college years). And, I appreciate that while they kept selling the series as uncut on the platform - it meant nothing when it came to actual content. If you aren't quite sure what that means - watch Big Dragon The Series with Yai and Mangkorn.

cuties
The Plot line was a little lacking at times, but I do not care because the main characters were all that matterssss!! I really loved the chemistry between the two leads. The way dino stares at his bunny is just tooooo much I love it! I also really enjoyed some of the side characters stories and hope to see more of that crossover! Dino is especially patient and protective which I really thought was sweet. Overall, I have rewatched drama so it’s obviously adorable and it is full of really amazing kisses, and sweetness overload! I’d give an 8/10 overall !Was this review helpful to you?
Don't waste your time
From the very 1st episode I thought Rak was a little slow or maybe Autistic ( which I have no problem with as my son is autistic) and was a side character waiting for his friend who was the lead, but alas, I was wrong. At least that would explain the horrible acting. Kong (Rak) cannot act. Sorry, but it needs to be said. His dull expressions are too much and several times it looks as if he's looking for someone off camera for direction. I can't tell if Rak is just naive or honestly has no idea what's going on in the world. Surely they could've found someone better for this role. For example, in ep. 3 when Mek was at his apt, he didn't scream for help or even make a half-hearted attempt to slap, kick, scratch, bite or punch Mek.
I'll admit I haven't seen the whole series but based off other reviews, I'm not sure if I'm going to. If I was new to bl and started out with this series, I'd never watch another bl again.
AND ENOUGH WITH THE PRODUCT PLACEMENT ALREADY!!! It never fits the timing of the storyline.

Overall: thought this was a romcom but episode 3 took quite a turn. I also really disliked the "comedy" sound effects. 8 episodes about 40 minutes each. Aired cut on UltimateTroop Official YouTube channel and uncut on iQIYI (eps 9 and 10 for premium members). Ultimate Troop also produced "Remember Me" and "The Yearbook".
