She almost succeeded, but was sabotaged. And the heartless pirate saved her at the last minute, preventing the worst from happening to her. And the protective clothing that the master had previously given her cushioned the impact of the blade. Mr. Zhang worries about Duan Wu; if it were up to him, she wouldn't be in this competition.
