SO GOOD! But there were some parts that were a bit ....eh
Its story was confusing at the beginning but soon after I slowly started to get the story and it's pretty good and more understanding throughout watching. The acting was really good and to be honest I got so scared a bunch of times haha. I screamed a few times but not a lot, it was more about romance than horror, to be honest. If they added more scary parts it would've been better to be honest. The music is so beautiful and calming haha but it made me wanna cry because it sounds sad. Speaking of crying I almost cried twice while watching it. Rewatch is definitely. I would definitely watch it again but not everyday but like on Halloween or something lol. Really good though I recommend watching it it's so entertaining but of course not everyone has the same opinion about it but, you know what I mean. Was this review helpful to you?
Idk
Even though the duration of this movie is only about 100 minutes they tried to cover each and every aspect. If only they could have increased the runtime and showed us some character development, then it would have felt way more content while watching the movie.Even though the story is something common - Arranged marriage to drive away misfortune, leads already met when they are kids, and the horror part is also something kind of similar plot which we are already familiar with(I don't want to spoil it). Everything was extremely supernatural and way beyond science(Well what else can we expect when the story was set in 1960s hahaha). Like I said they could have made the whole plot in a more detailed manner(Not saying it is not detailed enough LOL).
Acting wise, the actors did a really good job. The music is also pleasing and suited the movie and the situation really well. Like we already know NuNew is a great singer right!! My only complaints are regarding the story elaboration, other than that it's a good movie.
[Ahem...the headline is a hint regarding climax]
P.S. - I have not read the novel. But the movie's a solid one time watch. Go Watch it!!

I enjoyed watching Zee/Nuew
After reading so many negative reviews I decided to watch it on YTube and it was over 2 hours long ? I love these two together after seeing them in awesome Cutie Pie. I thoroughly enjoyed this and with a bit of horror thrown in, it was a fun watch. Zee is such a good actor, so expressive with his eyes, wonderful and cute Nunez has grown so much in acting and his singing is as good as ever. Anytime these two are together it is a treat so thank you to all involved and can’t wait for the Last Prince. Watch it and judge for yourself!!Was this review helpful to you?
Very cute romantic movie, not scary
I really liked it! But if you're expecting a real horror movie, of course you'll be dissapointed...This is a cute BL movie with a ghost and some thrilling moments. That's it :) Acknowledging that, it's good enough!
I especially loved the romantic scenes ♥ Zee is a good actor and has great chemistry with NuNew.
Their lovestory was really nice and the piano music made it feel very romantic! Good choice of soundtrack.
The story of the ghost was less interesting... But I know enough about ghosts that sometimes it IS best to talk it out.
I'm happy it was similar to Cutiepie and to see these in another story together. I fell all kinds of emotions watching this!
I would watch it again, but the uncut version. If you guys wanna watch an actual horror movie, I suggest not watching this lol.

The reason for all of this was so stupid.
The dynamic of Rawi and Phloeng is very reminiscent of the characters they played in Cutie Pie. Almost Scarily similar actually.I wish we could see them both in different roles that aren't the exact same thing. NuNew and Zee are both so talented and their chemistry together is crazy, yet this movie did nothing to showcase any of that.
The plot isn’t that hard to follow, but I feel like they’re trying to lean into this horror/mystery aspect and it’s not working very well in my opinion. Although I will admit the “ghost lady” we keep seeing is very creepy looking.
I'm sorry but all of this.. everything that happened was because of a woman who was obsessed.. That's the reason you're giving me? Seriously?

Movie missed the mark on many aspects, but still a good watch.
I read the description of the movie and thought this could be good, thinking it would be a thriller kind of movie and it got better when I saw that Zee and NuNew are in it, so what can go wrong, boy was I wrong.I won’t just be assuming things are going to be something just by reading the description anymore without looking at the tags, so I guess that’s what I get for not reading the tags they have for this and thinking it’s going to be a thriller but whatever, I still thought it would be good, but even that thought fell short as I was watching it.
Story:
I liked the idea of the story, that’s what made me want to watch it, plus the hotties I would get to see. ? Anyway… I just wish the story didn’t fall short of what it could have been… It’s like they tried to make a short movie into a long movie without making it long, but not actually doing it. They needed to made the movie longer so that it would allow for a more substantial background story and character development.
It all happened in a blind of an eye it seems like, so they really needed to make this longer, or made a series so more could have been done, shown an told. I had questions (well mostly just one) why I was watching this, The main one got answer at the end of the movie, but a few of them wasn’t… so if it was longer then they could have answer them plus more.
Music:
I liked the music thru out the movie, I though it was pleasing and suited the movie and the situations well.
Acting:
It’s Zee and NuNew what more can I say? They others were good as well. Lol
Overall:
I did like the movie, it is good enough to watch once, though I wouldn’t say it’s something you would want to re-watch much, if at all (well for the story that is, but to see the hotties yea I can see that). ;D

The story and the acting were superb ...
I was very anxious to watch this movie because it had two of my favorite BL actors, but also because it was widely anticipated. It took awhile to find online but someone finally posted a link on Google Drive.First off, Zee and Nunew were perfect in their parts. They fell into the characters and you truly believed that they were those people. Nu's acting when possessed by Kannika was amazing. He looked possessed when seeing his facial expressions and sporadic movement which were so good. Zee's arrogant behavior at the beginning fit the idea of the spoilt rich guy that felt he was entitled. Nu's comments about changing his mind and agreeing to the bond was so funny. Watching the two of them fall in love and begin to trust each other was beautiful. You could see the process of Zee falling for Nu as the movie went forward.
The secondary characters were also very good. Anyarin Terathananpa as Kannika was really good. The scenes where she was terrorizing Nu was very scary. The parents and grandfather of Zee were actors that I had seen before and they were once again marvelous.
I highly recommend this movie to everyone. The storyline, the acting, OST, and Special Effects were top notch.

After Sundown is a 2023 Thai film by prolific director, screenwriter, producer and actor Aod Bhandit Thongdee, which aptly combines the genres of horror, supernatural mystery and romance in a creative narrative and a certain historical period. In this way, Thongdee weaves multiple threads with admirable balance and skill.
The film delicately captures the vintage elegance and glamor of the 60s of the last century. The decoration, the costumes, the hairstyle, the scenery enhance the work in that sense. The script is based on the novel "Dap Saeng Rawi".
Rawee (NuNew Chawarin Perdpiriyawong) is a 21-year-old young man who lives a humble, folksy lifestyle. Raised in Aytthaya by his grandfather, the monk Chantakorn (War Jirawat Vachirasarunpatra), he accepts the invitation of Parit (Nu Surasak Chaiat), a generous patriarch of a wealthy family, to live in the city. Chantakorn sees in the invitation the possibility of a better life for his grandson, as well as the opportunity for him to continue his studies, and encourages him.
In his new home, Rawee will soon experience terrifying visions and strange nightmares. Every night he is tormented by the presence of supernatural beings. It will soon become clear that Rawee is the only victim of whatever is lurking and lurking in the house. The question arises from the first bars of the plot: why does he suffer these spooky hallucinations?
In addition to Parit, his son Patchara (Tao Adisorn Athagrisna) and his daughter-in-law Pimpila (Meenay Jutai) live in the rich mansion. The couple has a 25-year-old son, Phloeng (Zee Pruk Panich). This is an entrepreneur dedicated to the family business. Phloeng's parents believe their son is cursed.
According to a prophecy, Phloeng will suffer serious misfortunes during that year. Unless an auspicious event occurs, he is destined to spend the rest of his life alone. Your salvation lies in finding your soul mate as soon as possible. This must meet certain requirements: It is not necessary to get married. It is enough to unite their destinies. His age must be an odd number and not older than 25 years, he must have been born outside Phra Nakhon and it is not mandatory to go looking for him, as the indicated person will come to meet Phloeng.
Rawee meets all the criteria and turns out to be the ideal candidate to be Phloeng's soulmate. The proposal is made by Parit himself after knowing the prediction. But it conveys a doubt: don't Phloeng's parents care that they are men? They both agree that if Rawee can save Praphloeng from misfortune they have no objection.
The meeting of the young people could not be more unfortunate. As Rawee cycles through the city, he collides with the arrogant Phloeng, who is returning home from abroad by car, after being called to return home and seal his fate by joining his soulmate. Class and cultural differences will hinder the relationship of the two. Phloeng does not miss the opportunity to belittle Rawee and accuse him of seeking to get his hands on his grandfather's fortune. Rawee is not daunted. In the face of threats and accusations, he responds with pride, haughtiness and a good dose of mischief, leaving Phloeng without resources to respond. The grumpy servant Pudsorn (Namping Napatsakorn Pingmuang) takes it upon himself to annoy and make life miserable for Rawee.
Phloeng, a modern young man for his time, is not superstitious and is skeptical of his relatives' proposal. Refusing to be a stranger's soulmate, he finally accepts the agreement to calm the fears of those close to him. For her part, Parit asks Rawee for understanding after explaining the misfortune that would befall the family if he did not agree. It is then the young man's time to return the favor to his benefactor. A very common practice at the time, especially in rural areas and provincial cities, was to establish alliances agreed upon by the members of two families, beyond social origins, ages of the couple and other aspects.
The film shows a practice that is still common today in various regions of the world, including Southeast Asia, such as consensual marriage, in which the couple has allowed outsiders to bring them together.
Under these conditions of a consensual marriage to ward off misfortune and in the midst of growing tensions between the two young people, on the one hand, and the terrifying visions that Rawee suffers, on the other, Phloeng becomes engaged to Rawee. But he sets a condition: if after six months the relationship between the two does not deepen, he will cancel the arrangement. They both reluctantly accept the compromise.
To comply with the rules and avoid misfortune, they must remain under the same roof after sunset. The discomfort they feel being close to each other is evident. However, Rawee will soon discover that his nightmares disappear whenever he is around Phloeng. The approach and subsequent romantic commitment of young people is inevitable. We will soon discover that they are both united by deeper ties than an arranged alliance could ever weave.
Let's add as positive features a fascinating narrative, the combination of genres, the historical period as a unique added detail, the impressive images, the majestic landscapes, especially the lake, and the elegant atmosphere.
The film offers conclusive answers about the origins of the ghost that haunts Rawee. Music contributes to the development of the plot and fulfills its function as a vehicle to tell the story.
Positive: The movie seems unpredictable. The viewer is not able to foresee what will happen next. The level of intrigue, suspense and surprising twists for almost two hours. Solid performances, especially from the leads. Passionate and healthy chemistry between the two main actors. Tender gay love scenes.
Negative: Little exploration of the historical and cultural context of the 60s of the last century. Weak character development. Poor construction of the supernatural. Inefficient characterization of the characters, hence the viewer's poor understanding of their personalities and life stories.
The characters, both from the script and the staging and from the performances of the protagonists, are built with so much love and delicacy that the film is irresistible even in its most obvious moments. It may not do anything revolutionary with the gay initiation genre, but it is emotional and honest.
If you are looking to be entertained with a supernatural movie with suspenseful plots and surprising twists, After Sundown is a good option.
