Shimamura, a bartender in Alchu, changed his name and lived in hiding for the past 20 years, after a certain incident 20 years ago. He planned, as usual, to drink some whisky in the park until he heard the sound of an explosion. Soon he learned that among the victims of the incident were Kuwano, a friend with whom he once fought in the student movement, and Yuko, a woman with whom he had lived for only three months. Because of the fingerprints on the bottle, which Shimamura accidentally left on the accident spot, he becomes one of the suspects in the explosion case. From that moment on, Shimamura, wanting to clear his name, begins to search for the perpetrator of the bomb attack on his own.
