Because of the economic crisis, Toom has suddenly been laid off. Without money, she resorts to theft and her thoughts turn to suicide when, like a gift from the heavens, a mysterious instant noodle box turns up in front of room number six—her apartment. Reviews
very specific but interesting
6ixtynin9 was truly a significant experience. Firstly, I was surprised by the fact that the entire action took place within just one day throughout the whole series, which can be noticed, among other things, by the fact that one character began getting a tattoo in the first episode, and by the fifth, it was still in progress. This is truly original and interesting, which is a big plus.Unfortunately, the overall experience was rather dull, but it wasn't bad because I reached the end with interest. Davika performed excellently; her acting (as well as the rest of the cast in this series) was wonderful. Many nudity themes or the "gateway to heaven" subplot were very atmospheric, encouraging viewership.
The plot itself didn't have any shortcomings; I have no complaints. After all, it was a black comedy, so everything had to be slightly exaggerated. Some subplots were downright absurd because of this, but they still created atmosphere and were interesting.
I believe this series is not suitable for people with weak nerves. Some things might trigger or simply gross out; also, you MUST like and understand black humor. Personally, I won't rate it very highly, but I think it will be appreciated by fans of black humor with a touch of gore.

A dark show to binge in one night
When the show 6ixty9ine first popped up on my netflix recommended list I watched it because I wondered what would cause someone to name their show that. However after getting started I was further pulled into the show by the interesting dark plot and comedic scenes in the afterlife. The show is filmed in a slightly discolored filter with thrilling music and realistic fight scenes. On top of that the actress Mai Davika Hoorne who played Toom did a wonderful job of portraying her character and the way the side characters each react diversely to their deaths shows the difference in characters and people alike. Personally, the show I watched on a whim turned out to be quite enjoyable with my favorite genre of thriller being mixed in with a bit of comedy to lighten up the atmosphere. All in all I would say if you have some time strong nerves and enjoy dark shows a bit you should definitely watch this series. Was this review helpful to you?
