No One Would Have Cared if the Secret Got Out.

A promising premise with perfect chemistry between the leads and solid support from the side characters. It’s clear the cast gave it their all, despite having very little material to work with. I mean, you can only stretch a half-baked love story so far, right?

The story kicked off with some crazy ideas—an instant marriage proposal and everyone being cool with it? Wild. But seriously, if both families are basically one big happy family, why didn’t they just get married right away? They could’ve saved all of us a lot of time! Instead, the leads kept dragging things out, giving me emotional whiplash. The female lead couldn’t make up her mind, while the male lead carried the show like a champ, doing what male leads do best—keeping us hooked with charm and consistency.

But here’s where things went off the rails: one minute, they act married; the next, they’re back to awkward strangers. And let’s not forget the unnecessary secrecy—at work and at home. It’s like, why are you sneaking around when both families basically live together anyway? I know the male lead became her boss, but keeping their relationship a secret for that reason is so contrived it made my brain hurt. And again, the show is called “You Are My Secret”—but what was the secret? That they’re both wasting everyone’s time?

This is my eternal gripe with both Chinese and Korean dramas—long stretches where nothing happens. Either trim the episode count or give us more character development! Is it too much to ask to just watch the leads’ love blossom naturally? Instead, they gave us secrecy, unnecessary drama, and long scenes of... basically nothing. It felt like the leads were allergic to marriage and just burning through runtime doing absolutely nada.

Ultimately, the leads had potential, but the story squandered it by being repetitive and indecisive. I just wish they committed to the romance early on and let us enjoy the ride instead of dragging us through endless filler. If you ever feel tempted to watch this drama, prepare yourself—because the real secret? The only thing hidden is a sense of urgency.

I really liked this drama

1. Many are leaving negative remarks about the FLs mannerism and how she perceive things, but I think she was very realistic. She works hards and fails, she gets frustrated, and sometimes she achieves what she wants. I didn't really paid attention to her mannerism because I was really looking forward to her growth and success. She was very independent and I liked how the plot didn't make use of Ji Yuheng's position for her sucess. Never did once she used Ji Yuheng's name in all of her success.

2. I really like how Ji Yuheng never doubted Tu Xiaoning's ability, he wasn't even a guide, but he was only a support. He let Xiaoning grow and didn't brag about how he was above her in so many aspects. love him so much.

3. I liked how Rao Jing was introduced as Female Alpha and she didn't disappoint, she is an alpha til the end. WOMEN>>>

4. SIDE ROMANCE. RAO JING AND ZHAO FANGGANG ROMANCE IS A CHEF'S KISS. I am a die hard fan of their love story. Zhao Fanggang is a big green flag. MEN SHOULD LEARN FROM HIM!!

5. MODERN DRAMA OF MILES WEI NEVER DISAPPOINTS.

OVERALL, THIS GOT ME INTO MODERN DRAMA AGAIN AFTER WATCJING HISTORICAL WITH SAD ENDINGS.

A sparkler that fades in to nothing...

This is a sweet rom com, that starts off really fun, with lots and lots of secrets:

Secret crushes, secret marriages, secret job offers, secret stalking, secret illness, something more... And honestly for as long as there are secrets the drama is kind of fun but once the secrets start getting unveiled the plot takes a turn to some type of educational family propaganda snoozefest that litterly converts every single otherwise fun and interesting character in to this tool to teach us something taking away all the entertainment value leaving me annoyed at the male leads voice that I cna otherwise appreciate feeling tat if I hear another one of his monologs, confessions or whatever it was he was doing I could end up blacklisting the actor...

That said, the parants are lovely, the friendships top, top and one of the side couples bickering is more fun than the leads.

The predictability in this drama is just a little bit to high for it to be really enjoyable...

So I guess Id say watch the first part as it could be an 85 or even a 9 and once it gets boring just drop it, you won´t be missing out on anything and it may just may keep you from my personal dillema of how to rate this and how long a break I am going to need from Wei Zhe Ming before I can hear his voice without rolling my eyes...

Mature romance!!!!! Not much, A bit disappointed ?

What i like:
Ml doing things without her knowing.
Fl level headed ( in her work),

What i don't like:
I feel the entire plot was unfair, maybe ridiculous for ml. He never had a relationship and was crushing fl for 11 years, accomplished and stable. He was too perfect, that's why itfelt unfair.
And fl had a past relationship for 7yrs, which for this plot adds more unfairness for ml.
And for first 10 to 12 episodes, she was way too selfcentred and emotional rollercoaster.
She wants to hide the relationship, yet couldn't hadle the consequences.
Fought with ml, for a decision he took in his work life.
Never took her relationship seriously ( played safe and secure kindaa).

After that we can see a stable mature romance developing.
The ex of fl and a girl with one side love for ml were never a threat.
One thing to be appreciated was, fl was never influenced by them. She stood firmly by ml side and also aced her work life.

"it's ordinary, but happy."

It's nothing you've never seen in dramas before. This drama is simply a hoard of classic drama tropes: competent rich man (who is self made, but rich nonetheless) falling in love with your very ordinary girl, asks her to get married because he's been devotedly in love with the girl who is his highschool crush. It's dejavu all around for you audience!

YET, this drama doesn't waste time focusing on those tropes. Those tropes are just garnish to the real story: tu xiaoning and ji yuheng navigating their life together as an instant married couple. They stroll along the conflicts, resolved it without the usual heap of misunderstanding(tm) you often see in asian dramas. Yes, the conflicts end with satisfying result for our characters, but at least it shows them persevere (with very slight blood, sweat and tears) to reach it.

The second and third leading couples are also fun to watch to the point they ALMOST overshadow the 'ordinary' story of the leads.

It's a good comfort watch. Even audience with zero patience like me want to get through till the end (in 3x speed, that is). I recommend binging it in one day.

So far, so good

Through episode 18 I don't really have any negatives. I'm glad they haven't broken up so far, but I have a feeling that they will just because that's the usual story line.
I appreciate the second office romance (almost?) but the one between the best friend and the driver/former-current boyfriend/ police officer in training just doesn't interest me.
I love the OST. I hope it will be available somewhere.

An excellent drama, not memorable, but very nice.

Heartwarming Rom-Business series, with Miles Wei as ML (•ө•)♡ .

PLOT: The FL, contractual reception employee in a big bank, meets the ML, ex-high school friend, in a speed dating. They decide to get married after a while, but the FL, transferred to a new department, discovers that the ML is her direct superior. However, the bank prohibits a couple from working in the same branch. So they have to hide their relationship.

PROS:
+++ An adorable CL with great chemistry. Their interactions are very natural and cute. No unnecessary break-ups, the relationship is mature, trusting, it feels good!
+++ Very good supporting actors, who develop their characters well. The work team, the parents, ... are realistic and very endearing (I really like the CL2'S dialogues, less cliché than CL, and quite funny). We quit on an open ending for the CL3, but their break-up is realistic due to the FL3's immaturity.
+++ The pace is balanced and the production efficient. The OSTs are suitable and I like the cute sound effects.

CONS:
### Certain clichés are still present: the one-sided-love for years, the obsessed love rival, etc.

=> An excellent drama, not memorable, but very nice.
**************************************************************

2024's Best Corporate Setting Romance Drama

The plot intends to portray the natural behavior in true to life corporate setting which is definitely a must watch. (I highly commend Wei Zheming & Karlina Zhang's acting) although there's a visible room for improvement for how Karlina was guided to act her kissing scenes. The only fictional part I could recall is the longevity of hidden faithful love of ML to FL (no instance at all of even brief interest to other woman) <- no personal issue on this as a viewer, just stating a glimpse of storyline.

hmmmm..... Fluff

A strong plotted one from Miles Wei's endless CEO dramas 😂. The marriage out of convince trope done. No unnecessary misunderstandings a mature relationship that solves the misunderstandings pretty quickly. The chemistry is there too as a bonus. The leading characters are easy to root for.

the side couple was the highlight for me though, the enemy's to lovers trope done right!!! I loved to see how the writers changed the characters to care for and be more considerate of each other.

the other side couple, two people meeting again after breaking up in the past rediscovering love and continuing toward the future. though their relationship did become frustrating during the last eps.

the fundamental problem is how the leads made a pact to not interfere each other in work matters or use each other yet fail to do it. Sure the decision to leave the leading female leads to take on the their careers with no change made by the leading male leads was amazing to see.

A surface level fluff in fused romance. I kinda like how they didn't make to as that the FL always loved him or some random scene to insinuate that she had a unknown feeling towards him (*coughs * Serendipity's Embrace* 🐣)

A Heartfelt Journey Through Love and Work: My First Review of "You Are My Secret"

This is the first time I’ve felt so compelled to write a review after watching a drama, and that's because You Are My Secret left me with such a deep sense of warmth that I want others to experience it too. It’s not just about romance, but about growth, understanding, and the complexity of life after marriage. What starts as a reunion between childhood friends, Tu Xiao Ning and Ji Yu Heng, blossoms into a touching story of partnership and navigating life's surprises together.

One of the aspects I loved the most about this drama is how it perfectly captures the delicate balance of relationships—how love, trust, and the reality of working together can affect two people. Xiao Ning, who is in a probationary period as a lobby manager, faces her own struggles and aspirations, while Yu Heng, a rising star in business, is calm and determined. They both share a dream of settling down and getting married, but the drama beautifully shows that marriage is more than just a checkbox—it’s a continuous journey of mutual understanding.

What really made the story stand out for me is how these two characters, who once knew each other in their youth, find themselves as both colleagues and newlyweds. That dynamic creates a lot of tension, but in a heartwarming and relatable way. You see their vulnerability, how they juggle work and personal life, and how being in a marriage can sometimes mean rediscovering each other in unexpected ways.

Visually, You Are My Secret is as soft and comforting as the story itself. The office setting, contrasted with their shared personal spaces, feels symbolic of the challenges they face—where love and work sometimes collide. It’s beautifully shot, and the warm tones really enhance that sense of intimacy between the leads. The moments where Xiao Ning and Yu Heng are alone, figuring out how to make their new life work, are some of the best scenes because they feel so genuine and full of quiet emotion.

The soundtrack plays a key role too. It’s not overpowering, but gently elevates the tender moments and the occasional conflict between the characters. It’s one of those soundtracks that sticks with you, matching the mood of each scene perfectly, from the office discussions to the more personal, emotional beats of the show.

If there’s anything that slowed me down a little while watching, it would be the pacing during the middle episodes. Sometimes the plot feels like it’s treading water as the relationship dynamics at work get a bit repetitive, but it’s worth sticking through those moments. The payoff comes when you see how much Xiao Ning and Yu Heng grow not just as individuals but as partners, learning the true meaning of support and trust in both their marriage and careers.

Ultimately, You Are My Secret feels like a refreshing take on modern relationships. It’s tender, sincere, and manages to balance the complexities of love and work life in a way that feels relatable. If you’re looking for a drama that’s not overly dramatic but still pulls at your heartstrings with its honesty and warmth, this one should definitely be on your watchlist.

Why I recommend it: If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to balance personal life with professional ambitions, this drama offers a heartfelt and realistic portrayal. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys romantic stories that dive deeper into the realities of marriage and partnership.

Good premises but bland in execution. Rao Jing and Zhao Fang Gang's story was way more interesting all the way till the end.

Also, I feel like Zhe Ming needs to challenge himself a bit more. I feel like I've seen him act this person before. At times, I thought I was watching a more relaxed Si Nian from Perfect and Casual, not great when my mind keeps getting pulled to another drama. I like him but I need to see diversity in his acting.
