LOVE SCOUT: A fantastic start to my 2025!

Normally, I wait until I'm halfway through a series to write a review, but the first two episodes of this show were so good that I just had to share my thoughts. I recently discovered that "Love Scout" is written by one of my favorite screen writer Kim Ji Eun —the same person behind a favourite kdrama " why her " and my top drama from last year, "Wonderful World," and then "Lie After Lie," which I also loved. I'm thrilled to have another favorite series from her!

The story revolves around a workplace romance between a female CEO of a headhunting company and her secretary, who happens to be a single father. Their first encounter is filled with tension, leading her to vow never to see him again. However, fate has other plans, and they find themselves working together as CEO and secretary. I absolutely love the role reversal here; it's refreshing to see a female lead as the CEO while the male lead takes on the secretary role, which is usually the opposite.

The drama not only focuses on their romantic journey but also dives into workplace challenges, providing perspectives from both leads. It offers a glimpse into the headhunting business, balancing serious themes with light comedy and, of course, romance. I can already tell this series is heading in a direction I’ll adore, especially with my favorite tropes lined up: a cold female lead and a sunshine male lead, we also have sort of enemies-to-lovers, workplace romance, and a mature-themed slow burn all rolled into one...and I can't wait for how it all unfolds..

What’s rare for me is that I already love both characters equally at this early stage, which is a testament to the writing of both characters.

The female lead, with her cold exterior shaped by past trauma, is both hardworking and logical, exuding an aura of strength while still being vulnerable and relatable. On the other hand, the male lead brings warmth with his kind and caring nature, showcasing his role as a loving dad. His character feels genuine and relatable, making it easy to root for him. Their contrasting personalities create a dynamic that complements each other beautifully, and I’m really enjoying their interactions and chemistry.

The acting has been impressive so far, and the laid-back, relaxing vibe of the show adds to my enjoyment. Overall, it's a fantastic start, and I can't wait to see how this story develops. I’ll definitely be back to share a more in-depth review once I've watched more episodes!

Love Scout: Where Office Sparks Fly and Fate Plays the Matchmaker

Love Scout kicks off with a delightful workplace romance between a passionate headhunting CEO and her secretary.

The cast of Love Scout adds depth and charm to its already captivating storyline:

The female lead portrays a driven and passionate CEO who, despite her work-focused nature, is delightfully clumsy, unorganized, and often seen tiptoeing through life. Her mix of ambition and endearing quirks makes her character relatable and refreshing.

The male lead is a handsome, devoted single father whose good looks and charming demeanor make him the center of attention among the ahjummas at his daughter's kindergarten. His warmth and genuine nature shine through, creating an irresistible appeal.

For those familiar with his standout role in Moving, Kim Do Hoon plays the second male lead, bringing a vibrant and quirky energy as a privileged "nepo baby." His charismatic presence is sure to captivate viewers with layers of charm and humor.

The second female lead also promises to be a strong addition, and anticipation is high for how the character dynamics will unfold as the story progresses. Together, this talented cast creates a rich, dynamic ensemble that will undoubtedly keep audiences entertained and emotionally invested.

The storyline grips viewers beyond its refreshing role-reversed workplace romance, offering a deeper dive into the complexities of the headhunting industry. It skillfully explores professional challenges and pitfalls, weaving them into a well-crafted narrative that charms with its perfect blend of humor, quirks, and heartwarming romance.

The opening OST and the music are the perfect cherry on top, perfectly complementing the heart of the storyline. It enhances the entire experience, adding depth to the unfolding drama. Overall, it's an excellent start, and I’m already excited for the journey ahead. I can't wait to see how the story unfolds in the coming episodes, offering the perfect blend of comfort and excitement.

I am hooked captain! But…

The first two episodes were really entertaining to watch. The cast is great and the acting is really good. The music is nice. The cinematography is great, I love the shots and the coloring. The storyline is really interesting and I hope they keep up with it.

Now what is my “but”. I am not a big fan of the female lead. I kinda find her irritating and I think it’s a good thing! Because she feels human and I want to know why she act that way, I want to know if she always been like that etc… In other words I want to give her a chance.

The male lead is great honestly I don’t have a lot to say about him that could be objective because I am in love with this man. A loving father? Yes, that’s all I needed.

I’m praying so we don’t have a stupid love triangle (I hate love triangle) and I hope we take the romance slowly. I don’t like when romance is rushed and I’m scared that they will do that.

I think I said everything I wanted. So do I recommend it? Yes I do!

So far so good for me. I'm looking forward to the character development of the female lead. She's carrying a lot of baggage and appears to have a nasty personality. But I prefer to give her a chance and I think the male lead is the right person to be of help. Let's see where this takes us. I also prefer the two leads to be in a relationship rather than the male lead and the author. I think sometimes it's better to be good friends than get into a relationship and complicate things.

Currently Watching KDrama

Starting to watch this drama because of Han JiMin Eonni, and somehow I hooked with ths story so far till episode 2. Love the male lead (I never watch her projecy before, apologize befor hand) as a single father who fight and trying his best for her daughter. And then BOOM! He become a secretary, yes! A Man Secretary for Female CEO which is uncommon in KDrama Land who's going to entangled by romance in the upcoming episodes.

Han JiMin-ssi here plays as a headhunter CEO who seems like stiff and good at her job yet she is clumsy and has a sensitive spot where she left by her father due to condition at that time. And here the male lead gonna be able to soften her.

I hope there won't be any mislead or whatever again for this drama. I'm still disappointed by WTPR.

An Entertaining Watch Indeed!

Antagonism can lead to many things, specifically romance!

SBS’s new weekend offering “Love Scout” gives a dogmatic preview into the life of headhunters, most are perceived as immoral businessmen poaching talented people from well-known firms. That’s the general perception, “Love Scout” breaks into this mold by planting a firm female protagonist, Kang Ji Yun who is popular for scouting talents and helping them transfer to companies where their skills are better appreciated. She does it for money, but she has morals and principles. Like most people, our male protagonist, Yoo Eun Ho (who has just returned to workforce after a paternal leave) mistakes her intentions, he even goes to the extent of antagonizing her; only to land up in soup when circumstances force him to join her company as Ji Yun’s new secretary. The “Enemies to Lover’s” trope is rife and there are sparks flying even when our main leads are arguing. Let’s get down to the business of reviewing!
