I didnt know what I was expecting

honestly I went into this not knowing what to expect but pure comedy gold was not it. is it absolutely ridiculous? yes. yes it is. but I think that’s what I like about it. sometimes we just need that over the top, sometimes cringy, ridiculous, and sweet stories to remind us to not be so serious and just enjoy it for what it is.

also, I love that we are getting representation of the disability community, and so far it seems like it’s done well. plus it is already pulled an assortment of feelings out of me so I’m eager to see what else this series will bring.

I also really liked the MCs there is something different about them that pulls me in. sure we’ve got some of the rich spoiled kid, but he went deeper than that in my opinion. he wasn’t totally helpless. I also enjoy that we don’t have the” whoa is me” stereotype that we sometimes get with a character who has a disability. instead he’s pretty badass and strands up for himself and others. 10/10 for the relationship between him and his parents.

truly, I had no idea what to expect when I started this but I’m here for what is sure to be a wild ride. we really are blessed in 2024 with some amazing BLs and I don’t think this one will disappoint.

When love speaks louder!

While the premise might seem like your typical "silly wealthy man and his caretaker falling in love", the drama delves much deeper into their emotional journey.

Shao Peng is a positive and resilient character who is deaf and mute. He is aware of his disability but doesn’t let it define him, though he’s sometimes insecure about how others see him. His journey shows his strength and vulnerability and the actor played him perfectly. Also, although I have very little knowledge of sign language, the portrayal felt very real and authentic to me .
Zi Xiang is multi-layered. Initially, he came across as someone who enjoyed a privileged life while evading his responsibilities. But as we move forward , his carefree demeanour was just a show to hide his dissatisfaction with the life he is forced into. He slowly grows from self-centred to someone capable of empathy and love.

The chemistry between them was the highlight of the series for me. What started as a reluctant partnership slowly transformed into a tender, evolving love story. Zi Xiang's feelings for Shoa Peng grow not only because he takes care of him but also because of the perseverance and strength he shows despite his own doubts. Their journey of getting to know each other, understanding one another, and being together was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. They acted as catalysts for each other's growth, helping each other look beyond their struggles.

The second couple's story was interesting but they didn't have enough screen time for their story to be properly developed or for me to really connect with them. Their chemistry was evident and they were sweet and cute together, but more time was needed to make their relationship feel believable.

The pacing felt uneven at times. The tone of the first few episodes was borderline silly and goofy compared to the second half of the series. Plot devices like assassins ,kidnapping and the portrayal of trashy, unsupportive parents felt more like a gimmick where they didn't contribute anything to the plot or was introduced in the final episodes and wasn't executed well.

The drama also tries to address prejudice against disabled people, particularly in a professional environment. It manages to show that not everyone is openly rude or dismissive but there is a subtle bias even when they are not overtly hostile. But it felt like this issue was only touched on superficially serving as a plot device for the love story. I'm not complaining but I would have liked to see more focus on Shao Peng's character and how he personally deals with it.

Overall, while the pacing can be uneven and some plot points feel forced and underdeveloped, the chemistry between the leads and their character development make it a solid, enjoyable one-time watch. Probably more enjoyable if binged.

Story - This is a love story of a deaf simple person Jiang Xiao Peng & a rich guy Yang Ji Xiang . Their story is completely different from others because here the rich guy is not an arrogant boy but a soft hearted romantic guy who tries to help Xiao Peng to enjoy his life completely like a normal person .

The story started from Jiang Xiao Peng's point of view . He was trying so hard to get a job but because of his deafness no one was providing him job . Then he and Yang Zi Xiang accidently met and their story started when he was hired by Yang Zi Xiang.


Positive - I liked the unique story plotline so much . Chemistry between the ML & MC is so good . This a a cute and funny story , definitely will make a boring life happy . And the most funniest part was Yang Zi Xiang and his bodyguard's scenes , I mean they seemed like more than friends than a master - bodyguard .

Negative - I haven't liked the cinematography , the actors visuals and the acting . Sometimes I felt , I was not watching a drama but a stage play . Also the funny sounds are annoying .

Overall - Not so bad also not so good . 7.5/10 for me .

What I Liked
- the lead characters and their dynamic
- supportive family & friend
- representation (I'm not an expert, however it felt realistic)

- good intimacy in episodes 11 and 13 in particular
- comedy moments (subverted tropes, the parents and what they did in their home, though not sure the purpose unless it was just a prank)
- Plus & Minus cameo (the bartender)
- realistic that the 1 dad didn't do a 180
- wrapped up the characters well in the finale (though the whole beginning part/that plot was unnecessary in my opinion)

Room For Improvement
- the comedy tone didn't always blend well with the serious parts and was not a fan of the frequent comedy sound effects
- pacing could have been tighter (airing 2 episodes per week would have helped with this)
- I couldn't support the side couple based on something and then they waited way too long to reveal a key piece of information (post credits in episode 13)
- the villains thinking/actions made no sense, felt 'because the writer said so'
- inconsistent world building, how did a character not know something in episode 3 during a video call
- too much moping in episode 5
- episode 6 felt disjointed with the two plots
- nonsense stuff (it was broad daylight and suddenly total darkness/night)
- business stuff/meetings I cared nothing about
- too many flashbacks
- too many near kisses/long stares
- too many voiceovers
- cliche female characters actions though there was character growth
- started episode 13 with a recap and then a flashforward

Simply cute & meaningful

People with disabilities are under-represented in the world of the entertainment-industry. Rich kids are overused in many love dramas. But here it was a bit different. The deaf "kid" was not a helpless stereotype and the rich kid is not a shallow one-dimensional character. Both leads did an amazing job in bringing to life the vision of the creators. The side couple is a typical stereotype but not in a bad way.

The only downer for me was the finale, where I thought "really"? Are there no other option of conflict resolution with his cousin? And the conflict with the rich kids father was not solved either. It's nice to have a happy end but I felt a bit underwelmed by the story while all the other episodes were more thought out. I don't think it was necessary to put a GL part in it, but it's ok as it is and the bitchy fiancé was not a typical "bitch" as portraied in so many BLs.

The stand-out of this show is the chemistry of the leads, the training which went into learning sign-language and an overall "sunny" touch on the cinematography. Also most NC scenes had a place and didn't look forced or out of place or just fan service which is typical in especially thai shows.

Overall that was a very enjoyable show with great leads, with dark undertones on a light story. Also to give a minority of a minority a representation is important and meaningful.

Touch Your Love

Listen, Jiang ShaoPeng's love language is touch, and I respect him for that. My man got himself a boyfriend, and we found his innocent face was just a facade, cuz every second he was lifting his lover up, then it was kisses here, touches there, and ignoring that his parents are in the house. Homeboy was wild, and I loved him for it.

"I can't hear, but I can see how you say you love me." -- And they showed us how he saw that love, in this very beautiful 13 episodes drama. See You Love is one of the best dramas that released in 2024. Arguable, it's one of the best bls out there. The drama is about two lost souls, one spoiled rich kid with a kind heart, who found love and realised he was not useless or weak, and shouldn't live for the approval of others, and about a loving deaf boy who never thought he was enough because of his disability, but learned to love himself and accept his limitation did not define him.

This drama made me laugh, cry, and in some cases, annoyed the hell out of me. Let me explain.

I CRIED When:
= Jiang Shaopeng couldn't find a job, although he's been working so hard and was more than qualify. People suck.
= When Yang Zi Xiang was explaining to Shaopeng that he's useless and weak in his family's eyes, and basically saw himself as someone who was worthless. Baby looked so small, and that fake smile had me tearing.
= When we found out Zixiang slept in that closet. Poor boy.
= When Jiang Shaopeng broke down after his mother was hospitalised, admitting that because he was deaf he has to rely on others for help, care and sympathy. 'Haven't I tried hard enough, haven't I been patient enough' made me sob.
= When Jiang Shaopeng's hopelessness and sadness made him fight with Yang Zi Xiang. When Zi Xiang was yelling at him for pretending to be strong, I had to pause the drama for a bit and get myself together.
= When the next day, Yang Zi Xiang wrote him that letter/phone note but said he wasn't going to apologies for what he said during their fight, and that being strong did not mean that Jiang Shaopeng couldn't also be weak. And although he himself is weaker, he want Jiang Shaopeng to let himself be weak and show his vulnerability when they were together, cuz he'd be there for him.
= When we found out how Jiang Shaopeng's friend Shu He blamed him and his disability for what happened to her. Girl how does that make sense? Why was it his fault?
= When Jiang Shaopeng finally gave in, rushed to Yang Zi Xiang in the hospital, hugged and kissed him. I clapped and cried happy tears when they finally got together.
= When I saw Jiang Shaopeng finally working where he wanted too and being happy about it.
= When Jiang Shaopeng said Yang Zixiang was part of his family. That was as good as getting married.
= When Jiang Shaopeng put his hand on Yang Zi Xiang's throat/vocal cord to hear/feel him say his name over and over again, while they cried. That scene emotionally broke me.
= When Shaopeng said that 'If in the future I become a burden to you, just tell me you want to break up, no need for any reason.' I yelled at my screen like, 'Boy dafug you saying?' Was so glad Zixiang reassured him, cuz dude was out there talking nonsense and making me angry sad.
= When Yang Zixiang wanted to sacrificed himself for his love and cousin. That boy is so pure, I love him so much.
= When Zixiang slept in the closet/wardrobe again, but Shaopeng said it was okay and they had lots of time to work through his issue together.
= When I saw that ring on their ringers in the post credit scene. They're married y'all.

I LAUGHED When:
= Yang Zi Xiang thought Jiang Shaopeng was the perfect hire cuz he was deaf, but Shaopeng was not having it, quitting when he saw through Zixiang's bullsh!t. Lmao, the way he aggressively quit and refused to come back had me rolling.
= When the second leads, Wang Xinjia was trying to kidnap and kill Jonathan, but my man ended up in his bed instead, and proceeded to fail miserably, until he even moved in with them and started working for them. Lmao, you call that being an assassin? he sucked so bad, it was funny.
= When we found out how WILD Jiang Shaopeng was after the two got together. Dude had zero shame, was always ready for a kiss, and did not care his parents were home, and could hear them. My man was on, and I respect that. But like in the scene when Zixiang first visited Shaopeng's room and immediately started rolling on the bed, sniffing his pillow, boy was just asking to be eaten, so I don't blame Shaopeng for losing control.
= When Jiang Shaopeng got jealous of the cousin, and then tried to run and hide his face cuz he was embarrassed.
= During that shower scene I was swooning and going... awww he has to step on his feet, ooofff hot, the chemistry is chemistrying, but before that I was laughing cuz poor Zi Xiang was like, let me take a shower, and Shaopeng was like, sure... but that doesn't mean we have to stop what we are doing. Boy, Shaopeng's innocent face had me in the first half. WILD.
= Not laughing, but I coo and smile whenever I see the size different between our two leads. Shaopeng is so tall, and it's so cute whenever he sits on Zi Xiang's lap. They are soooo adorable!
= When Jiang Shaopeng's father tried to fight Zi Xiang after he found out they were dating but immediately broke his back. LOL, that dude was so cureless, he didn't get a hint that whole time??
= When Zixiang was trying to figure out what he should bring as a bride price for Shaopeng. I was like, nothing, that boy is so gone for you he'd marry you on the spot.
= When Shaopeng looked pissed off and annoyed for being kidnap. The way he was calmly writing back his answers.
= When Shaopeng's dad was like, 'nope, ain't telling those love boys to break up. But thank you for the second son, I can see you don't want yours, I'll take care of him.' Goated, and I loved it.
= When Xin Jia's drunk arse thought he was in control and sober. LMAO, the whole time he actually believed that lie.


I ROLLED my eyes in Annoyance when:
= Shaopeng's female friend started getting jealous and wanted to cause trouble. The audacity after what she did.
= The slow build of the second lead, or I guess they're going backwards build, cuz they did the deal and now they just sort of roommates? Like are they supposed to be a couple or not? I've waited so long and nothing is happening with them.
= That random fiancée showing up and trying to start sh!t. Why were the females in this show so annoying?
= When Shaopeng's female friend was warning Zixiang not to hurt him or else. That girl seriously have too much audacity.
= Whenever that cousin of Shaopeng showed up. He was unnecessary mean for no reason, literally what the hell did he want? Shaopeng didn't even want the business and dude was still planning to assassinate him.
- That Cousin. Waste of screen time.

Plot wise, the story wasn't something new, but the execution and the chemistry of the leads carried the show. The main focus was on the two leads, and I hoped the secondary characters could have been well developed and have more scenes, but with 30mins episodes, it wasn't possible to give everyone the screen-time they deserved, nonetheless, they got their point across. Personally, I enjoyed almost everything about this show. The main couple were amazing in their roles, Raiden Lin and Jin Yun had such an amazing chemistry, and played off each other very well. They were able to convey the emotions the plot needed for us audience to connect with the characters, which made me enjoy it more.

All in all, although it wasn't perfect, it was a great show with lots of emotions and laughter. I'll highly recommend this to all bl and drama lovers. This was among my top 3 most favourite dramas of 2024, so yeah, give it a watch you'd like it. I really hope to see Raiden and Jin Yun in a drama together again. I'm gonna rewatch this one a lot this year, cuz it simply stole my heart.

Loved the main relationship, not so much the over-the-top dramatic storylines & antagonists arc

Don't get me wrong, I quite enjoyed this BL thanks to the lovely main couple relationship. I loved their growth as individuals as well as the evolution of their bonds. That was definitely the most interesting and touching part of the series: they learnt from each other, one becoming less childish and supportive, the other one learning to open and accept help.

Next to it, there were the secondary couple relationship (which I did find less believable and compelling) and foremost also over-dramatic company storylines involving even gangsters. All those over-the-top plot points were addressed quite clumsily in the script, especially towards the end where the antagonists storylines felt brushed off without very convincing closure.

Having said that, there are a lot of very charming scenes between the leads in the drama. The two main actors have a very good chemistry and were convincing in the more intimates moments.

Production was not extraordinary and felt a bit "soap"-like with some overbearing music that overlayed a bit too thick on the romantic scenes making them slightly cheesy. At the same time, it is what made the series pretty entertaining.

I would recommend this to people looking for a BL with interesting characters growth and great chemistry. It is a bit thin in terms of scenario but at the heart of it there is a romance that I found quite lovely.

Is it too soon to say that this was one of the best series I've watched this year? ?

I know it's early but It's been a good start to the year.

This story took me completely by surprise, as I was expecting just a romantic comedy. But I ended up coming across delightfully tender characters overflowing with affection!
The relationship between Yang Zi Xiang and Jiang Shao Peng is one I found to be very warm in my heart. Despite them being at odds at the beginning of the show, seeing how their relationship developed emotionally and physically was very nice. The small things that they did for one another and the simple touches that they each shared were so cute and nice. Тhere is a level of respect and understanding that shines between the two that made them feel more than just compatible. The dysfunctional family, deafness, the fiancée ... they showed how deep their love was that they knew their final decision was one is born of trust and want.
I really loved how mature these boys were.They may have made mistakes but they owned them and made adjustments.
They communicated.I appreciated it because the story needed it.
The secondary characters were written beautifully, and i loved the family of Shao Peng.
Where it fell down for me slightly was that there was a some clichés and the acting at certain moments. But that's just me, and it's a small thing, because overall it was a really good time.

A genuinely dramatically, romantic, fun and fluffy!
And that ending was too cute!

It's so fluffy!

Taiwanese BLs have a tendency towards fluff, and this show really tests how far they can go.
The one thing that amazes me most about this series is how they develop very real tension for possible danger or conflict -- and then turn it into more fluff. And they pull it off! It doesn't feel like contrived or forced.

The tl;dr:
Was it good?
YES! It managed to combine fluff, cheesy tropes and a character-centric love story into a sweet whole, without stereotyping Shaopeng's disability; and Jin Yun was excellent in his role as Jiang Shaopeng.
Did I like it?
Absolutely. It hit my sweet spot. It's one of the few shows I've watched and finished while it was on.
Would I recommend it?
Yes, but those who are allergic to tropes might want to steer clear.



The show's premise is already a trope in itself -- rich and useless heir meets hard-working young man -- and is reformed by it; antagonistic relatives try to sabotage the heir, controlling parents try to push heir to new heights, jealous fiancée plots devious schemes, sweet and goofy mother cheers from the sidelines.
And the episodes themselves are chock-full of classic tropes: We get the fall-and-catch, the fall-and-kiss, the tending-to-smallish wounds, the only-one-bed, the interrupted kiss, and more.

However, behind all these tropes, there is a beautiful love story between two men who learn to trust each other, who can finally let go of the masks they have worn around their closest family, who can rely on the unconditional love they have for each other.
In fact, I even think the screenwriter even used the tropes to their advantage: The writer managed to build up tension for possible danger, only to resolve that with impossibly sweet scenes between our main couple -- showing how much the two men are absorbed in each other's presence, so much so that they don't even notice most of the schemes around them -- or when they do, they don't care much.

One aspect of the show that does not rely on stereotypes or tropes is the way the script deals with Jiang Shaopeng's disability. The story doesn't focus on Shaopeng being deaf (unlike the 2024 Japanese "Hidamari Ga Kikoeru") -- we only get glimpses of the prejudice and the discrimination he faces, just enough to explain his actions. More important to the story is how he has dealt with it in the past -- and how he tried to carry that burden alone until Yang Zi Xiang fell in love with him.
Jin Yun is very convincing as Jiang Shaopeng -- his facial expressions, especially his eyes, are mesmerising in their intensity.
Raiden Lin as Yang Zi Xiang uses gestures with Jiang Shaopeng from the first minute he learns that Shaopeng is deaf -- Yang Zi Xiang is not only unprejudiced towards Jiang Shaopeng but also does not hesitate to adapt his own way of communicating to Shaopeng's needs.
I also love how the production team decided to give Shaopeng his own version of an inner monologue -- we don't hear a voice but see his thoughts in writing, and even in flashbacks, there's no sound, and the camera focuses on the mouths shaping sounds, the hands talking with sign-language or facial expressions.

In terms of acting, it's not just the leads who are convincing -- it's the whole cast. They manage to give even the most one-dimensional characters some depth.
Score could have been a bit less intrusive at times, but it did not distract from what's happening too much.

Overall, the script is well thought out. Only the subplot with the two women could have been shortened a bit -- the cousin's story was much more intriguing than the stereotypical "jealous ex/fiancée" one, and I think there is a lot to explore there. I also don't know why there always has to be a secondary couple -- although I liked the back-and-forth, there was not enough time to really develop their relationship beyond the superficially tropey "cool top teases puppy-like bottom", as is usually the case with shorter dramas.

Even with the above-mentioned flaws, this drama gives us a sweet, tropey love story with some depth, with good acting and overall solid pacing. I think I'll even rewatch it someday, when I need a pick-me-up.

the plot is weak but the romance? the love? oh i definitely see it.

the plot could definitely be written much better but the romance between shaopeng and zixiang is where it shines. i also did not realize how emotional this would be. i mean it had its fun and goofy moments but they also gave me some of my favorite heart-tugging scenes in a drama.

i adored shaopeng and zixiang individually and together. i thought it was just so sweet and adorable how they started and gradually got know each other, formed a friendship and then fall in love. the bar is low but we saw that development lol. i love that they brought out the best in each other. this is so corny but like, i believe they're gonna last. this is my first time watching these actors and i'm impressed. i thought they really have so much chemistry plus they delivered a great performance during the emotional scenes. the scene at the hospital with shaopeng and his parents? i was a sobbing mess. thank god shaopeng has such loving parents.

the overall plot with zixiang's cousin and his father was pretty weak. it just wasn't interesting and even though the drama began with zixiang's life being in danger, i never felt that thrill. even in the end with his cousin literally pointing a gun at him, i didn't feel like this whole dramatic scene and supposedly a climactic moment was earned. there was one point, i forgot about nat! (and he's part of the reason why i even started this drama!)

they highlighted the struggles shaopeng's faces in his career as a deaf person in the beginning and i wish they could've gone deeper with this storyline instead of the whole plot with zixiang's family. the incorporation of sign language feels authentic to me but then again, i know so little about it so.

the second lead couple is adorable but that one did not get much development. they just happened. i do think they're cute and have enjoyed their scenes together.

this is one of my favorites now!

Love doesnt need any words

One things this series proved to me was that love doesn't need words. Actions can say so much more.

I loved the way they didn't just use the, people who are deaf can read lips. Zi-xiang learning sign language so he could communicate with Shao-peng made me so incredibly happy. It showed how much the relationship between them ment for Zu-xiang.

Shao-peng having suporting parents, not only in his relationship but also in him being deaf. And Shao-pengs father standing up for them against the men he respected the most (Zi-xiangs father).

I also like the other couple, Jonathan and Wang xin jia. The way Xin Jia tried to get Jonathan killed but failed miserably every time had me smiling. And Jonathan seeing it as a game made it so much better. I was happy to know that Xin jia wasnt really part if the gang making it a lot easier for him to leave that place and life behind.

The only thing I regret is not seeing Yang Zi Chen being held accountable for his actions. He tried to get his nephew killed even though Zi-xiang saw him as a role model and brother. And all that because he was afraid of losing but also felt like he was never good enoug.

All in all an amazing series and definitely worth watching. High expectations and definitely not for nothing.
