This is like the deepest Sentai Toei has come out with in years. How long has it been since they came out with a show like this? Long enough for me not to remember anyway, lmao.
This is probably why I couldn't be annoyed over Zett realizing that he couldn't get dat kirakira da after thinking on it, and for once, I can see how Toei typically paces their endings and shit.
Fab/10 tbh.

A journey that shines unexpectedly...
At a glance, it is hard to fully understand the type of show you are getting with Ressha Sentai ToQger. What sort of motif is "trains" and "imagination"? It almost seems like they took two random subjects and plunked them together. ToQger, however, sticks so intensely to its themes that it is refreshing in every way. From the opening that tells you to not miss your train transfer to the earnest use of "imagination" throughout the series; the show manages to tell a cohesive story that is sometimes silly but always honest and endearing.Story aside, ToQger has a main cast that is likeable, genuine and avoids stereotypes while all getting their own chance to shine. But it goes a step further in introducing a very intriguing set of villains that are more than just fodder for the good guys to beat up. These villains not only push the plot forward in important ways but they also have some of the coolest designs for a tokusatsu or really just any show, in general.
It would almost be appropriate to just leave what the experience of Ressha Sentai ToQger is like to your imagination. However, you would be doing yourself a disservice and depriving yourself of a well-made show that transcends its status as part of a series that is "just for kids". Don't be late. Don't miss your transfer. Hop on board, because you'll likely find something shining brighter than you expected.

The story line at first seemed a little too simple but this has some great foreshadowing worked in and as time goes on it becomes more complex. a series well worth watching. And for those who worry it might just be a knock off of Den-O then don't worry it really not!

This was a really sweet addition to the Sentai pile. But it also had an odd feel to it. On the one hand, it was quite silly - but whenever it focused on the Emperor of Darkness and Right it became something else entirely because the Emperor’s obsession with Right was very… not kid friendly, to be honest. And it’s what I loved best, the connection between Right and the Emperor, the way they were constantly drawn to each other, the way the Emperor could never bring himself to truly destroy Right, even in moments when he defeated Right, and the way that connection was slowly but surely destroying Right from the inside out, changing him; TOQ1’s switch from Red to Black was a stunning twist, holy smokes!
It also lent itself to a huge amount of whump for Right. The last five or so episodes were pretty much Right whump pure which was very much up my alley. Even in the last fight, Right vs. the Emperor, in which the Emperor was finally defeated; when Right fainted after shouldering all of their powers and the Emperor turned into a cloud of darkness, the way they all threw themselves on Right to protect him, knowing that he couldn’t withstand another dose of it… Gosh! The ToQgers’ love for each other was just… mwah!
Also! It stars Shison Jun as Right and Yokohama Ryusei as Hikari which is yet another reason to watch it!

What a villian plotline.
Overall, it is one of the best Super Sentai shows I have seen. It has a good balance of humor but knows how to be serious when it was to be. I recommend it to anyone that likes Sentai or tokusatsu.Storyline:
I loved all the twists and turns that the villains had. Best villain plot ever. The rangers also had a good plot but it is not as great as the Villians. That is the true reason to watch this show.
Acting/Cast
The cast was good. For most of them, it was their first acting role and it can be noticed but you could see that they were good. I loved seeing Yokohama Ryusei because you can see him give the emotions at the end of the show and he would go on to be in many other great shows and movies.
Music
The opening and ending were great. I never skipped either when watching all 47 episodes.
Rewatch value
I can see people rewatching this show. The plot is good enough to watch again. Maybe you would skip the filler in a rewatch since sentai tends to have lots of those.
