Doctor Stranger Ep5 Review

The episode was as they say.. Daebak! :D Captivating turns and twists to keep you on your toes. The cat mouse chase between Park Hoon and Jae Hee doesn't tire me out, which is saying a lot since such chases usually become monotonous and annoying after a point. But as there's so much mystery behind the whole thing that you don't give a shit about the fact that he lost his lead to her yet again, you find yourself so engrossed in the suspense, nothing else matters then.

Started out with some more mysterious behavior on Jae Hee's part (who btw is calling herself Han Seung Hee now) who I could bet my non-existent savings didn't die in that camp, and the doctor who said she died was lying obviously. What evades me completely is how the hell does the Secretary know every bloody thing that is going on. How is it even possible for one person to know SO much about everyone. It's godly. Jae Hee is a part of something huge, that I'm sure of. I knew it in the last episode itself that the black leather jacket clad person who kept stalking everybody and gave brown packets to Jae Hee was that horrible NK officer (sneaky jerk btw), so HAH Show, I guessed that right *Smug*

Lee Jong Suk and Park Hae Jin are exceptionally good at their roles. Somewhere during the episode, I stopped seeing them as actors just acting out their parts (brilliantly at that) but as actual people whose stories were being told. They pull you into the whole thing to that extent. All the emotions that they portray actually hit you as reality. The same can be said for the rest of the cast, nothing is out of place, not even a nurse.

There's so much under those layers of the onion that Jae Joon is, and I think we got a glimpse of that in this episode. His ambitions and his feelings for Soo Hyun are at war now which is going to be interesting, what with the potential that Park Hoon and Soo Hyun have as a couple. Which brings us back to the initial point on which this whole thing is happening - Park Hoon's love for Jae Hee, who I think is avoiding getting involved with Hoon despite her love for him, for whatever reasons, but still wants him to keep running after her? Brilliant angle for a sub-plot in my opinion.

Agh the mystery the suspense is so frustratingly amazing! In the last few sequences the cryptic dialogues of Jae Hee and that NK brute almost had me pulling my hair. Suddenly I'm not so sure If Jae Hee is Jae Hee or if she's really Seung Hee.. God, the theories are making my head ache. I could literally go on and on about each scene and how great it was, but you should just watch it for yourself and be floored by the performances.
