Not one boring episode
I live in the Cayman Islands and started watching dramas from different countries. This is the best drama I have watched :) love love love it. Watched it about 20 times. love the music, the songs, but most of all the background music. Feng and Shan Shan acting is effortless, perfect , no mistakes. I hope they do another series. I have recommended this series to several friends and a few agree totally that this is the best drama series they have watched.
Actually have it on as I work, not 1 boring episode.
I hope they have season 2, even if it's just 4 or 5 episodes, just to see the wedding and they have a baby.

Even though it's kind of your typical romance drama/story I think it is really well executed and I really like the cast for this drama.
I don't really know what else to say than if you love a good romance, then I can recommend this!
PS. Where can I find my own Feng Teng?

Was a cute show but...
I liked the show but the FL kind of bugged me. I think it was the part she played. I really got tired of her not fully accepting him and that their lives could be good together. She also felt that she had to change who she was to be with him. She had to get a degree because she felt if she did not she was not good enough. Here are my hang ups... when the ML was kissed by the girl that liked him for all those years and the FL saw them. He just stood there and never tried to explain anything to her. Never really pushed the other girl away. Never made it clear to his love interest that he had no feelings for the other girl. He pretty much just let her go.? I get that she was like a “sister” but... even in my family when my brother was wrongly picking a fight with my hubby we all stood up to my brother and let him know he was in the wrong. The ML did that like one time! That was when he had to go over seas and the other “sister” showed up.
The FL... uggg I just had a bit of a hard time with her. She got annoying. The way she was always so reserved even when she “confessed” to the ML. She wanted to hide their relationship. I really really hate that!! If you are not willing to let people know you are together then you are not worth being with. And when she over heard that she might not have kids. I really hate shows that they leave the one they love because they either cannot have kids (or think they cannot) or they are ill and are not sure if they will live. And I do know that she was playing a very naïve girl. So naive that she dressed like a wanton woman because the other girl told her she needed to and actually showed up to work looking that way. She did play a good naive girl. I think that is what really bugged me about her character. I have a hard time watching naive, gullible people that don’t understand a situation until it is to late or that do not know how to stand up for themselves! ??♀️
Would I rewatch it? Ya I probably would. Just wish a lot was cut out and the show shortened. But over all I did like the story. For me I will watch again just not as often as some of my other favorites.

That being said, there were a couple things that irked me about this. One, it's long. Longer than it needed to be at least. It could have been condensed by more than a couple episodes for sure, but all the loose ends were tied up because of its length. Second, all the characters made such a huge deal about Feng Teng's money and status, that it really started to get to me. I know they did it to show society's stereotypes/negative connotations about being rich, but it REALLY started to annoy me. Just let them be happy for heavens sake.
However, there was enough sweetness and character development to get past the few negatives, and the acting was tipty top notch. Definitely give this a try if you're in the mood for something sweet and cliché.

This was so fluffy and sweet and adorable and the love story was so wonderful. Feng Teng was cold and calculating and closed off from love. Shan Shan was silly and not quite the smartest girl in the room, but she always saw the positives. Together they were cute and so freaking sweet and watching Feng Teng melt and fall in love was so much fun. Honestly, I think that was one of the highlights. The way he slowly melted and fell deeply in love with Shan Shan was so much fun to watch. I couldn't have asked for a more fluffy and bubbly romance. It was exactly what I wanted!
Every moment that the OTP shared was beautiful. From their first encounter all the way through to the finale episode. I felt like the actors had the most amazing chemistry and that chemistry enhanced the on screen performance in the best way. It wasn't just the lead couple that had excellent rapport, it was the entire cast. Feng Teng and his best friend Handsome Qi had great interactions. Shan Shan, her cousin Liu Liu, and their friend Shuang Yi had such a great on screen bond that it added an extra layer of fun and enjoyment to the show for me. The OTP moments were amazing, even when Feng Teng was watching Shan Shan through the window in his office there was a wonderful tension and attraction there. This OTP is definitely in my top five!
As with Love O2O, there was very little drama in the story for Boss & Me. Every story has to have some conflict in order for there to be some substance. However, when it becomes so overwhelming that the story drags and nothing can move forward that's what I have a hard time getting through. There was very little unnecessary drama in this show which was great. The obstacles and issues that the OTP and group faced were within the realm of reason and added to the story instead of halting all forward momentum.
In all honesty the things that I did not like were few and far between. I'm totally ok with that! Really, really alright with that. And, these few things could be labeled as more nitpicking than anything else. None of these were negative enough to make my watch of the show drag or unpleasant, so I count that as a huge win!

I recently watched and boy! I love it so much. Feng Teng is handsome and Shan Shan is cute. So depressed that it ended because there’s so much more I wanted to see. I wished they made the series longer. Love all the supporting characters. There are way too many moments that I went back and rewatched.
I will definitely rewatch in the future.

The main drawbacks of this drama is the very annoying second female lead that goes too far. And the female lead is annoyingly timid and shy in the beginning but thankfully she gets a backbone and starts to stand up for herself as the drama progresses. But it’s a little bothersome in the beginning because you want to shake her and tell her to speak up for herself.
Overall this drama is really good and I highly recommend it for those who are looking for a sweet romance driven drama with lots of skinship and kisses. If you’re into action packed dramas with deep plots then this is not for you.

The romance is a wonderful and engaging part of the drama but its not all we as viewers can look forward to. There is also the familial relations, friendships, work life, career advancements, growth of characters in a realistic natural way. The growth had an amazing pace. Also even though second leads tend to get crazy I liked how they laid out the actors in those positions.
There wasn't really a big bad in this series which is actually pretty good. I mean not really any office politics in an overbearing way. It was going over relationships, how they progress, what happens when problems arise, how they deal with issues, growing in their relationships.
It was wrapped up very well in a timely fashion, no loose ends.
The length of the drama may seem long but it's not that bad. It keeps one's attention and it's a decent drama to watch as a marathon.
This drama to date is one of my most memorable and favorite dramas to re-watch. It deserves a chance of up to at least episode 6, then make your decision. In the first episode if it doesn't already have you fully engaged all that's needed is some amazing plot foundation.
Enjoy Boss & Me AKA Shan Shan Comes to Eat :D

One of the best among the Best Chinese Drama
I noticed this before so long it just happens I'm not yet familiar with Chinese drama mostly I watch Jdrama, Kdrama, and Taiwanese drama. I watch Chinese movies but on dramas not yet maybe because so long episode that's I hate before. This is not the first Chinese drama I watch... these past few months I'm kinda bored watching Kdrama and I don't have seen new catchy to watch. I'm searching and I remember this drama and I read first the review if it's good to be watching I don't want to waste my time it's a 33 episode. And mostly the review is good so I start watching it....OMG! I could not believe I was been addicted to this drama I watch straight I don't sleep just to finish it. After I finished watching I on the next day I watch again I did not yet get move on this drama. Why I was so hooked on this drama first the story so light and so catchy to watch special the character of
Xue Shan Shan so a cheerful, lovely, and simple girl. The story so common special Asian dramas the Male lead is rich and the Female lead is poor or Boss and employee girl relationship was so common. What I like on this story so simple it was not the typical love at first sight...it just happens on the food. Shan shan love eats so much, and the character of Feng Teng so much serious and so lonely. Just saw this cute little Shan shan so cheerful and has no dull moment.
I'd seen so many dramas there are just a few lists on my favorite the all-time my Favorite Lovers in Paris (Kdrama), Boss and Me(Chinese drama), and Love Lasts Forever (Jdrama.
Every episode so exciting and even it was a light comedy romance I cried on the break-up scene, I was so much affected. My favorite scene when they're together watching fireworks and that's Feng Teng he was in love with Shan shan. Feng Teng character so cool and not a typical possessive boyfriend. That's how Shan shan so confused because Feng Teng so hard describes his character. The typical opposite character of Shan shan and Feng Teng.
I just hate the last few episodes so many long moments some other characters. I'm just maybe biased I wanted them to be married in the ending. But everything so beautiful and real recommend to my friends and they love it. I just hope it has a second season.
Trivia: I watch this more than 10 times. The song was my ringtone on my cellphone "Promise of the Wind - Zhang Han" So much in love with this drama.

Story
The story is quite simple: A rich guy falls in love with a regular girl. Nothing special there and the plot twists were in a way pretty predictable. However - I don't think this is a negative point. The twists felt realistic enough and they weren't overly annoying to me. Things didn't feel like they became too dragged out too much.
The ending felt a bit lacking. It's a happy end, but not every lose end has been tied. Some themes have been left open. In a way it feels just fine, because it allows for us to fantasize about it any way we like. On the other hand.. I'm curious. So I'm both happy/content and disappointed by the end. But not too badly disappointed. (And from what I understood, these matters you can find within the original book.)
Acting/Cast
I think the cast did well on their acting. I just feel sometimes the characters they acted were a bit lacking. Shan Shan felt a bit too ditzy to me, though she did improve gradually. And Feng Teng could have been a bit less stoic in some scenes. He does change though and I really liked to see how he was during the last episodes. The chemistry between the characters (Main, secondary and support) all felt just fine/good.
Music
Though not overly special, I did find myself humming along at some point, haha! So I guess it was more catchy than I thought. It fitted the mood well, but there's nothing that left a lasting impression for long to me personally.
Rewatch Value
I think it is a drama I could watch again at some point in time, but not anytime soon. There is nothing new I could discover in it, but there were a lot of sweet moments. I'm just not sure I'm ready to go through the first episodes of ditzy Shan Shan again.
Negatives?
If there is one thing that REALLY bothered me, then it's got to be the make-up/filming. I hope I'm not going to spoil anyone's fun here, but I absolutely hated how pink their lips/hands were most of the time. It was ridiculous. (The eyebrows too, at times.) Just wth was up with that? o_O
It was distracting at best, haha.
Overall
I liked this drama. I really did and I watched it with a smile. Though I did take a break from it at some point (mostly because of an interest shift and not because the drama bored me), I easily found myself continuing it and enjoying it just fine. I'm glad I watched it. Romance was what I was looking for when I put it on and romance was what I got. :)

Another drama based off of the popular web author Gu Man (Love O2O, My Sunshine). This one is definitely the middle road between the three books/tv shows. It has its cute light-hearted moments, but also has more serious and dramatic moments. Somewhat Cinderella feeling (lower class, young girl falls for the upper class male lead) but definitely has good character development in Xue Shan Shan (Zhao Li Ying). With so many TV shows out there, it's hard to have super ingenious new story lines, so this one is definitely just a good melodrama to watch and not expect any crazy twists and turns.
Features the main two (Zhao Li Ying and Zhang Han) exploring the relationship between two very different people and dealing with all of the issues that come standard with that type of relationship, while at the same time dealing with mixed emotions from other characters who want to find love as well. Definitely nothing mind-blowingly new or unheard of before, but still a good watch altogether. You get to see Shan Shan go through all of the normal relationship stages where she isn't sure what's going on at first (and somewhat dislikes the male), to realizing they have feelings for each other, and dealing with being together and what not.
ACTING:
I haven't made it a secret that ZLY is one of my favorite actresses so until I actually see a bad drama from her, she's gonna get good critiques from me. ZLY really is smart at choosing dramas to act in because it always seems like her character really changes and develops by the end of it and almost always for the better. She is really a great actress who is amazing at showing the different parts of a character and making it feel like she really IS that person (and not just playing the same characters all the time).
Zhang Han - another very popular Chinese actor. I haven't really seen a ton of his works. Even though he's not a bad actor, he just doesn't do it for me, so I never go out of my way to watch his shows/films. He does a good job as the rich/powerful guy with a soft side, but again, he's just not my cup of tea.
Huang Ming - I'd only ever seen him in Perfect Couple before this, but he really changed my mind with this drama. In Perfect Couple, he was the geeky sidekick who fell in love with someone way out of his league, so the first time I watched this, I couldn't take him seriously as the super suave, flirtatious playboy he was started out as. Eventually, watching him more, I really had a change of heart with him and really started rooting for him to find love.
REWATCH VALUE:
I'm a young female adult, so all of Gu Man's stories (and others like it) always attract me to watch over and over again. I've rewatched about 2-3 times in the past few years. The fact that her stories are fairly standard plots make them easy to watch because you're so used to that type of story, but at the same time, all three of the adaptations have had fairly good actors/actresses at the helm which makes it easy to watch again and again. (This would rank #2 for me after Love O2O)
