I really wouldnt say its full of the typical korean cliches, the female lead was amazing, i loved her personality, she wasn't annoying or anything, the comedy in this was just awesome, i laughed sooooooo much and so hard, it was great!
I loved the drama, the romance, the comedy and when everything was resolved i loved that too lool as well.
The male leads mom, i felt so much compassion for her character, she did a phenomenal job in her role, her growth and story, was amazing to watch and see to the end.
I reccomend this drama, it has the right balance of everything, and you'll love the Leads interactions, they're hilarious and too sweet.

This drama had a whole block of realism, but I wouldn't say it's deep or heavy in any regard. On the whole, it's light, breezy and follows a girl's life, as she deals with an ex, a guy she is pretending is her fiance, HER REAL BF, and then those cursed in-laws that seem determined to ruin your life at every turn. There are a lot of memorable scenes in this drama, like Jang Mi wading into the pool and running away in a bridal dress to a beach etc etc.
It's a great drama!
However, I felt some of the supporting cast were not as developed as they could've been. Some of them were literally cardboard templates, but for the "light and breezy" theme it works. Also, this is more on a personal note, I'm not sure how I feel about the advertisement of plastic surgery in this drama. Some procedures can be done under 20 minutes, so it's shown on par of having your hair dyed or getting a pedicure done. For me, this settles in uneasily, because on a broader sense, it shows society is becoming more aesthetically driven, and soon, there will be peer pressure to get these procedures done.
Although I have no problems with plastic surgery per se, I would hate for that day to come, when someone says to me, "Hey, you have a deviated septum/ or a high widow's peak...have you thought about going under the knife? Everyone does it!" Because I think that's where society is heading. But oh well! Maybe it's just me, who needs to embrace the concept of "changing your face to suit the occasion, like one might change their socks everyday"... How old-fashioned am I! :)

Now, about the things I didn't like: 1) the chemistry of the leading couple wasn't very intense as it should have been. 2) the girl was a bit off for the her role. Not the actress, who was excellent, but the character was a bit odd and didn't fit the story. She drank a lot ( a few scenes would have been sufficient to understand her, and not make her look like an alchoholic), she jumped from one guy to another (she claimed to be in love with the first guy, and, in episode 2 she wasn't anymore....), she was behaving like a child at times and she was kind of annoying. 3) at some point, the drama had a confusing point.
So, 5 out of 10.

I did love this show for what it is, and I felt that this was an great show. Story: Now I'm going to start the story off by saying this is not for everyone, It has (what felt like to me) a lot of the same thing. It not a bad story, but I can't really go into detail due to spoilers. The story I give a 7.
Acting/Cast: I start off with Han Groo due to knowing some of her acting experience. One of her other roles that I know her for is the main female lead in One Warm Word. I think she played the same type of character in this one as in One Warm Word. She did great, and her acting is good. Yeon Woo Jin played his role really well, I have not seen him in any other dramas but I praise him in this one. The other cast did great especially Gi tae morther. The acting/Cast I give an 8.
Music: Out of the music It was all really great. Though I feel their was some songs that I heard that I did not really care about. For that reason I give the music a 9.
Overall/Rewatch: For a rewatch value I give it a 5, I feel me re watching this would probably not happen. For an overall value thought an 8, It a great light comedy, but it not for people I say who just want the romance to be their, it is for people who like a small building romance though.

But I enjoyed watching the main cast, Yeon Woo Jin & Han Groo the most. I am a fan of Jung Ji Woon and as always, his acting is pretty good. This was the first time seeing Han Groo in a lead and let's just say I concentrated more on her beauty than the male lead himself.
I'll give 8.5 as the rewatch value for it's ever so korean drama plot.

"Marriage might not be eternal but i still want to love you forever". That line makes an impression for me and il remember it along with this dramaThe guy wants to be alone while the girl is afraid of being alone. Surely match made in heaven
There's alot of things to like in this drama
You have a typical rich guy poor girl but this girl is vocal, loves to drink, stands up against injustice and kind
You have typical pretend couple turn to real emotions, along the way its both cute fun with some emotional twist
You have strong family theme too on both the male and female side, and how their parents marriage shaped their thoughts on marriage or fear of (this is something quite realistic)
It also cements that although love is between two people but marriage is really between two families.
This drama is a very good balance of rom com, some absurdities and silliness meets realistic family plot.
The cast is good and love Han Groo as Jang mi.
Its been a fun ride of 16episodes but i do thk episode 11 to 15 feels a bit slow. Do give this a watch if you come across it
-- SPOiler --
The wedding scene was atypical and somehow appropriate for our couple
The proposal speech wise was romantic but lacking in action...and feels cheated on behalf of jangmi ( you know what i mean when you watch it)

I was really looking forward to watching this Kdrama. From reviews I've read, I thought it would be different than your usual Kdrama rom-com. I was even more interested when it was mentioned in other drama's comment section or in viki's timed comments.
Instead, I found this drama very typical or "run-of-the-mill". I don't know what everybody else saw differently. Other than the main male lead not being a rich heir this time around, the story/setup/premise is pretty much the same as your usual asian drama.
One very good thing I must say though is the character development. It is handled pretty well in this drama.

Different from the Norm
Marriage Not Dating was a drama that wasn't the easiest to watch. Now I know that some of you might decide to drop it after reading that but I mean it in a way that doesn't negatively impact the effect this drama had on me. Watching this drama as the whole is only possible thanks to this. I will say that there are a lot of love triangles and misunderstandings in this drama so be prepared to endure some cringe-worthy jealousy moments. Some highlights for this drama may include the casting of it. I felt like at the end of the drama, we've begun to understand all the characters and see where they may have come from and why they might have acted the way they did. It is a really touching story. I have to give a special shoutout to the soundtrack of this drama especially "Stop the Love Now". This track made me smile and bop my head every time it popped up in the drama. Cheers to another great one.Was this review helpful to you?

So I love the "fake dating" cliche, and I was really excited for this one. But so many of the characters were annoying and downright toxic. First of all, the female lead starts off as one of the worst leads I've ever seen—unbelievably naive, nosy, and always drunk. Even though it was kind of explained by the backstory, she was still unbearable. It took me a REALLY long time to become okay with her because even when her character grew a little, I hated the way she handled situations—silent during misunderstandings that could have otherwise been avoided with one line, and loud/obnoxious during the worst times. The other characters were not the best either; many of them were manipulative and toxic, but seemed to be intended as a "positive" character, which was just confusing. There wasn't one character I purely liked, and even Jang Mi's mother I couldn't stand. The plot I really liked, though. It was a different take on the "rich evil mother" cliche and Gi Tae's mother actually had dimension to her (though she still irritated me). I felt like some of the plot near the end, especially with that breast cancer plot twist was kind of just out of the blue and random.

How to feel good and laugh for 16 hours. Old but Gold RomCom
This drama would have been very popular if it was aired in the recent years and got streamed on netflix in the same time.Anyway it's my confort zone, watched it 8 years ago and when I need a good laugh I just go back to it. I think it's the perfect romcom I've ever watched (and I've watched many). It was so hilarious, the cast is perfect, great chemistery between the Leads, (I wish we could've seen more of Han Groo it's sad that she is not acting anymore), great characters devloppement, great sound effect that made the scenes more funny, that confusing scene in the first of every episode that always kept us wondering what is going to happen in the end of the episode, I really congratulate the director for his wonderful work, and the drama has one of the most perfect endings. I laughed in the first scene in ep1 and laughed in the last scene in ep16, that's how a romcom should be.
