Oldboy and No Mercy has many similarities. To list a few major ones are Story is similar, Revenge is also similar. And finally at the climax a huge twist appears which makes the movie to the top level.
Both are revenge stories directed by Park Chan Wook. They both make the viewer feel sympathy for the protagonists. They are artistically made and they include complex characters.
I started it on midday and ended it at night. People who want to have action and a amazing story which is not really connected to the world where live will be disappointed.
However I loved how realistic it was. From beginning to end I was excited, shocked and realised that just little things can change a whole matter, your whole life, your character and surrounding.
This drama has a really good ending.
The acting was amazing.
The music fits really good.
... and I will rewatch it to unterstand it better.
Money can drive people crazy.

Both "Oldboy" (2003) and "The Man from Nowhere" (2010) are South Korean films that delve into themes of ‘revenge and redemption’. In "Oldboy," a man seeks vengeance after being imprisoned for 15 years without explanation, while "The Man from Nowhere" follows a former special agent who embarks on a violent quest to rescue a kidnapped child. Both films are known for their intense action sequences, complex characters, and emotional depth, highlighting the lengths to which individuals will go for justice and personal redemption.
Disturbing plot and shocking scenes with many unexpected twists and turns of events.
Brutal, Bloody, Abnormal and apparently both 18+ rated for reasons.
With Characters that are not necessarily likable and protagonists where it's questionable if they are mentally healthy and display normal human behavior.
