JustBruck's Weekend Movie Picks
Historical Action is a different type of genre and honestly, I kind of just meshed the two different genres together. I had a weekend kick for some action movies. As I started watching, I noticed that the movies all had a similar theme; they were all set in the past (really far in the past) and that they somehow had a lot of action in them. Usually I am a sucker for the Romantic Comedies but these movies caught my attention. Now on to the movies!!!
Sidenote: This is my first article and I'm really excited about it! Hope you enjoy the read!

A few years later, Ja Yeong enters the royal palace to marry King Gojong. Mu Myeong still having feelings for Ja Yeong and in an attempt to get closer to her becomes her personal bodyguard. Ja Yeong, now as the Queen of Joseon, becomes involved in a power struggle with Russia and Japan who are both attempting to colonize Korea. Furthermore, King Gojong's father (Cheon Ho-Jin), who wields true power in Joseon, works with the foreign interests which causes Ja Yeong to stand up to him and the foreign diplomats. The king's father then gives his implicit approval to the Japanese to assassinate Queen Je Yeong. Mu Myeong must now fend off these threats to protect the woman he loves...
The Sword With No Name has many different aspects to it: forbidden love, fighting to the death, and historical settings. The acting in this movie is phenomenal. Cho Seung Woo portrays the protector and forbidden lover of Soo Ae, who is about to ascend the throne and marry another man. The chemistry between the two, on screen, is perfect. The battle scenes in this movie are great, with lots of focus on the individual fighting. If you are looking for a movie that is both filled with action but also has some romance, then this movie is for you!

Synopsis:
Makabe Rokurota (Hiroshi Abe), a loyal retainer of Princess Yuki-hime (Masami Nagasawa), has been commissioned to transport Yuki-hime and Akizuki's ample treasury of gold bars safely to the politically stable Hayakawa. They disguise themselves as humble firewood peddlers, hiding the gold bars inside the logs they are carrying so as to pass safely through roadblocks set up by Yamana, which is under the control of Takayama Gyobu (Kippei Shiina), whose attire bears a striking resemblance to that of Darth Vader. Along the way, Rokurota comes across Takezo (Jun Matsumoto) and Shimpachi (Daisuke Miyagawa), who have escaped from forced labor in a gold mine. Takezo and Shimpachi first frown on joining the journey, but eventually agree to help out in the hope of escaping Yamana's oppression and cashing in on the gold reward Rokurota offers them.
The Last Princess is a movie that leads you on an adventure of a man who is, in the beginning, an outcast who cares for no one but himself but turns into a caring, brave, and compassionate citizen who believes in justice and true love. Matsumoto Jun (who is a favorite of mine, LOVE HIM!!!) plays the male lead who escapes from forced labor and ends up traveling with Nagasawa Masami on a journey to save her country.
