Choi Hee Jin's next K-drama will be MBC's Motel California.
On October 29, it was officially confirmed that Choi Hee Jin will be added to the cast of the upcoming romance K-drama Motel California. The actress' agency confirmed the reports and stated that the actress will be one of the main leads of the series.
Motel California follows a woman who returns to her hometown after 12 years and reconnects with her first love. Raised in a motel called Motel California in a rural area, the female lead was a constant subject of gossip due to her family's circumstances. She then decided to move to Seoul after growing up. After twelve years, she returns to her hometown and rekindles a past romance. The upcoming K-drama will take its story from Shim Yoon Seo's 2019 novel Home, Bitter Home.
Director Jang Joon Ho (Time and Hotel King) and writer Lee Seo Yoon (365: Repeat the Year and Swallow the Sun) will work together for the upcoming K-drama.
The upcoming K-drama will be led by Lee Se Young, Na In Woo, Gu Won, and Choi Min Soo.
In the series, Choi Hee Jin will portray the role of Yoon Ran Woo. She is a veterinarian and the junior of Na In Woo's character Cheon Yeon Su in college. She is known to have a sincere love and care for animals.
Motel California will premiere in the first half of 2025. It will exclusively air on MBC.
Motel California will be the first official project of Choi Hee Jin for 2025.
Last year, the actress starred in the Disney+ K-drama The Impossible Heir alongside Lee Jae Wook, Lee Jun Young, Hong Su Zu, Choi Jin Ho, Kim Ho Jung, and Han Sang Jin.
