The much-awaited Chinese fantasy drama Guardians of the Dafeng has confirmed its premiere date for December 28.

Guardians of the Dafeng tells the story of a modern-day worker, Yang Ling, who unexpectedly finds himself in the fantasy-filled world of the Dafeng Dynasty. There, he goes by the name of Xu Qi An, a night watchman tasked with supervising officials and solving cases for the people of Dafeng. Utilizing the knowledge and skills from his life in the modern world, including scientific knowledge and deductive reasoning, he successfully cracks a series of bizarre cases, earning the reputation of a master investigator in Dafeng.

In this world filled with demons, magic, and hidden dangers, Yang Ling and his like-minded companions face challenges head-on, willing to make sacrifices for the greater good. Together, they confront the dark forces within the imperial court, stand up for justice and the common people, and work together to protect the peace and stability of Dafeng.

Dylan Wang plays Yang Ling/Xu Qi An. Xu Qi An is a constable at the Chang'an County Magistrate's Office in Chang'an County, Jingzhao Prefecture, of the Dafeng Dynasty. He was raised from a young age by his second uncle, Xu Ping Zhi, and his aunt, Li Ru. Although he is known for being a playboy, he adheres to his own moral boundaries. Time and again, he manages to escape danger through his exceptional adaptability and inexplicably good luck.

Tian Xi Wei plays Princess Lin An, the daughter of Emperor Yuan Jing of the Dafeng Dynasty. Despite being born into the royal family, she has a pure and cheerful personality. She knows how to act like a spoiled child without being overbearing and never seeks to build her own faction of loyal followers. As a result, she is the most favored among Emperor Yuan Jing's children.

Mao Xiao Hui comes as Huai Qing, the eldest princess of the Dafeng Dynasty and the most talented woman in the royal family. She is known for her cold demeanor and extraordinary intellect. She has studied books and practiced martial arts diligently all her life. She recognizes Xu Qi An's talents and recommends him to Wei Yuan for a position as a night watchman.
