Disney+ has officially announced the release date of its original series Vigilante. The K-drama will premiere on November 8. Disney+ also unveiled posters and teasers, giving a glimpse of what lies in store for the viewers.
By day, Kim Ji Yong, a dedicated police academy student, upholds the law as a model of virtue. But by night, he transforms into a Vigilante, taking justice into his own hands and passing judgment on criminals who have evaded the clutches of the law. Vigilante is an action-packed thriller featuring Nam Joo Hyuk, Yoo Ji Tae, Kim So Jin, and Lee Joon Hyuk.
The teaser poster features Kim Ji Yong (Nam Joo Hyuk) standing on a rain-soaked street, wearing a police uniform, while his reflection shows him as an obscure figure.
The wanted posters scattered on the ground emphasize the vigilante's unyielding commitment to deliver justice to those who have escaped the law. The dark, alley-like backdrop and flickering neon signs allude to the inner turmoil experienced by Kim Ji Yong.
The teaser commences with featuring the Vigilante cloaked in a deep hood within a dimly lit alley, saying: "You should have spent the rest of your life in repentance. Start blaming the law for letting you go. Because I'm going to show you what hell is".
The trailer further introduces Cho Heon (Yoo Ji Tae), the head of the investigation team, who senses that the vigilante's methods are anything but conventional, saying, "Not anyone can do something like this. He's a diligent and righteous lunatic".
Additionally, broadcast journalist Choi Mi Ryeo (Kim So Jin) detects the emergence of Vigilante and says, "What people want now is a dark hero like this", introducing the name Vigilante to the world.
Vigilante is an original series of Disney+, which has also been invited to the 2023 Busan International Film Festival's On Screen section.
Vigilante will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on November 8, releasing two episodes every Wednesday. Watch the teaser below.
