I feel that is not only those daily life scenes. Also with the changes in the characters, scenes were scrapped completely that I feel are key in the story.
One of those scenes is when Little Orange is in the hospital and LingXiao's mom asks that he shows a bit of love for her bio sister, and he tells her that he won't give to others what belongs to JianJian unlike her. He clearly express that he belongs to JianJian because his mother threw him away, drawing the line between them (Mom, Little orange) and his family.
And while Sohui is a really nice kid and I like her character more than Little Orange, I feel it doesn't make sense to make her so likeable. Because Sanha shows almost instant love for his sister for the only reason that she is his sister thus going against the idea of family by choice.
On the contrary, one scene I feel is so out of place in this version is the one where we see Sanha remembering his mom taking care of him when he was sick. It shows his love for his mother which I feel it's kind of odd that his mother is so much more cruel in this version but he loves her more than in the original. He doesn't assume the care for his mother out of filial piety, but out of love.
