But really, just agree to disagree.

they are used to cringe things, they can't stand the seriousness and melancholy of Go Ahead, like immature cringe children. I pity them really.

 danny_ang:

No, that is your expectation. That is your expectation as viewer of original works, it's not related with the title. Title of movie or series can relate or not related with it content, or plot, or narrative in it.

What is "Go Ahead" words relation with familial bond among 2 dads 3 children?

If it good show, we don't bother with the title. If it bad show, we will find flaw after flaw. Your disappoinment of FbC is not related with its title.

Even the poster only showing the siblings (3 children).

It's your expectation of bonding among 2 dads and 3 children, it's not related with the title, it's not related with the poster.

Go Ahead is the international title, the actual title is "In The Name of Family" meanwhile the Korean title is "Fabricated Family"

 CG:

Yeah, I'm actually heaps surprised at how strongly viewers of the original feel. This has to be my favourite k-drama of the year and everyone I know just thinks it's perfect. We're all gushing so I'm actually 1. very excited to watch the original (I'm still on ep 1 atm), but also 2. sad for fans of Go Ahead because you don't get to experience Family By Choice as just a seperate thing. And I've totally been there before with other shows and books. So yeah, feeling lucky right now.

No, I felt luckier to know Go Ahead before hand because it is THAT GOOD, watching for nth time and still can feel the warmness of the drama

watching FBC for the sake of just watching

Yes, and still one of it title "Go Ahead" is little or not related with family bonding of 2 dads and 3 children.

I've said my point, that movie title can or cannot related with it's content, plot, or narrative in it. The showmaker can chose words that sounds catchy or easy to spell, or have marketing value as title, or many other reasons.

It should've related to the content, why bother to include the family in the title if there's no familial bond in the drama. The official title for Go Ahead is "In The Name of Family", using Go Ahead so it'll easier to reach international fandom

I haven’t started this yet, in part because I like to binge not watch week to week and because the original Cdrama was 40 episodes so I know it’s going to feel different to the point where is it even the same drama? I don’t think they are comparable at this point.

Oh my god, we're in the loop.

Ju-Won's father relationship with Hae-Jun is sufficient enough to be called Family by Choice.

Familial bond in the drama is your expectation.

"it should've related to the content" its a rule set by you.

There are a lot of other show, that its title didnt related with its content.

"Chariots of Fire", didnt have chariot or fire in it.

"The Seagull", no there is no seagull in it.

"Go Ahead", why they chose this title if 1/3 of the story is about family?

Given that this is 16episodes  vs the original with 40 there was bound to be major differences . I’m a fan of both cdramas and kdramas, I started my journey with k dramas. I personally feel that Korea does a better job with modern setting dramas. While Cdramas tend to excel in historical.

with that being said, this doesn’t meet my expectations as much as I thought it would. The angst is lost and not fully developed. JJ was heartbroken for a long time when they left. It felt really devastating and when they came back her character truly drew the line. I mean that scene where she exploded on them was so well crafted. Here juwon just seems fussy, and she’s already forgiven them, she’s just dragging her feet about it. Unless the future episodes touch more on this, I felt like this arc wasn’t done well. However this remake does a great job of showing the ML’s love for her very early on. There was still a sense of siblings when the confessions were made in Go ahead but here, it was very clearly depicted that Kim San Ha loved her when they were kids.

i don't like kdramas at all, i feel that cdramas excel in every kind of dramas, both modern and historical, while kdramas always mess with a yankee vibes full USA style that i totally dislike.
And even adaptation, they tend to not satisfy the original fan audience.
Go ahead is the one proof that Cdramas are far better even in modern setting, and not only slice of life that everyone tends to forget they exist.
The characters in this adaptation are NOT normal people at all.

Actually I think the expectation is because it is an adaptation after all and the focus of the original drama is family.

If the drama was an original they could've named it whatever they wanted and they'd be no problem what so ever.

But in the end, I understand your pov, for you is enough the tittle is only refers to some characters. For me I kinda feel the title is misleading because I don't get the familial bond in this version at all and I feel the main focus and the drive for all the creative choices they made is to enhance the romance.

I've heard great things about Meet yourself though I haven't watched it yet. It's from the same screenwriter of Go ahead.
