Hi, Anne613,
So I guess it is me again recommending a romance with a happy ending for you. This is only my favourite kind of drama so I know what you mean.
So, of the top of my head (or my list, to be honest), I have a couple of korean dramas for you:
Because This Is My First Life is a classic cohabitation romcom. 16eps
Fanletter, Please is another sweet romcom about a single father meeting his first love who became a popular actress. 4eps
Take your pick: they are both sweet and a great watch.
As for my next challenge: anything goes with the exception of horror(no zombies, monsters or killer viruses!) and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING chinese. Thank you!
Edit 1: The Négotiation is probably the very first item I put on my PTW list when I created my account here ages ago: I was so into CLOY!🤣 So thank you for giving me the push in the right direction!
PS Sorry about the misunderstanding about chinese dramas: I do not watch them anymore and my english being a bit rusty, I misspoke. My apologies!
EDIT 2: Completed. Final verdict: 8/10
This could have been a drama: there are enough interesting characters in this film to make it a viable idea. Fortunately, it is only a film since it deals with the frequently met topic of corruption between the politicians and chaebols who all consider themselves to be above the law, who control the police, the military and the NIS and who have no respect for anyone else's life but their own.
It connects somehow with recent events in SK where a rotten president did everything to cover up his rotten self.
The topic is therefore repetitive and eventually boring. But the main actors did the heavy lifting, their chemistry amazing for a non romance film and that is what raises this film above the average though just about. A good single watch.
Thank you for the rec KC Drama LOVER!
Hello, Selbee! I recommended you as you requested no zombies, monsters or killer viruses and almost everything from china that is my go-to recommend with hint of what I love non-chinese :)
-Click on the title to reach the page (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
(No problem, it's happens. I hope you enjoy the movie!)
- When I Fly Towards You: If you want heart warming, friendship, re-freshing and high sweet heart here you go plus chinese.
- My Journey to You: My favorite, definitely if you want some historical, costume, assassin.
- Lighting Up the Stars: If you want heart warming, family here you go.
- Move to Heaven: No word, just a masterpiece for you.
- The Negotiation: Loved the plot. I mean no chemistry movie was still chemistry-ing. ✓
I am open to all recommends.
Don't worry, just recommend me. I am sure that one of your recommend is in my PTW so absolutely don't go there („• ֊ •„)੭
I never expected to see this type of moment lol 😂 But to say the truth sometimes I don't add dramas even though I know about them cause that will increase the count more or I am just lazy and Under The Queen's Umbrella is one of them. But I appreciate your work @autumn iris ദ്ദി(ᵔᗜᵔ)
I accept autumn iris's recommendation of Under The Queen's Umbrella
Status: On-Hold
Rating: --
Thoughts:The reason I kept this on hold is I keep postponing when I think of watching it. I was so happy to see my favourite actors and actresses but it's definitely not my mood for now. It's like right drama at a wrong time. It's too much characters and politics that confuses me and I actually don't like drama with too much characters that I can't get hold of. I am way confused and it needs my proper attention like sometimes I am all in to watch dramas like these but not today, so sorry
Hello, KC Drama LOVER,
Then I will recommend you titles that's not on any of your list:
- May Who?
is a movie about a boy who's an outcast in high school meeting a girl who could produce electricity power whenever her heartbeat hits 120 points
is a movie about the sad life of crown prince Sado
is a 16 episodes drama about the struggle of a queen and a mother teaching and disciplining her sons so that the new crown prince will be chosen from one of her (idlers) sons
is a 10 episodes drama about a forensic team helps solving mysterious cases
is a LGBTQ+ movie about two high-school best friends in 1980s when gay rights is still non-existent
Please don't recommend me GL or Korean zombie or pure rom-com, everything else is okay.
I accept 55:15 Never to Late, think I may enjoy it since there's Nanon Korapat Kirdpan and Khaotung Thanawat.
Status: Completed
Rating: 9/10
Thoughts:
55:15 Never Too Late is a beautifully wrapped (look at all those cute and pretty boys and girls) heartwarming story about 5 people aged 55 y.o. turning younger (15 y.o.). While in their young body, they try to get/do what they want as not to have any regrets, and in the process meeting some new and old faces who teach them some life lessons.
This drama made me laugh, cry, smile, sad, and excited. A great drama. But I feel the unrealistic whole story of Jaya, the singer, could be written and concluded better. But it's just my opinion.
Thank you Selbee for the recommendation. It's one great drama.
Hello, @autumn iris!
Your completed list is very very long and yet I managed to find two dramas which are not on any of your lists!
55:15 Never Too Late a Thai time travel drama. What would you do differently if you had a chance?
7 Days Before Valentine by the director of 180 Degrees dealing with a similar question: who do you blame for your current unhappiness?
They are not BLs per se even though they have gay characters but the first one is a time travel drama while the second one is a psychological drama.
Enjoy!
As for me, I am ready for my next challenge only NO chinese dramas and NO horror (so no zombies, killer viruses or ends of the world!). Surprise me, please!
EDIT I have never managed to go beyond two episodes of a lakorn, Mother is too intense for this time of year and the two thai bls I dropped after 20min, so I will be watching Takara No Vidro. Thank you Tanii.
EDIT 2 Final verdict 8/10
It was an easy and a fluffy story, slow paced and pretty. I was a bit annoyed with excessive innocence but it was worth it. Iwase Ypji is so handsome and even more talented and I hope to see more of him in the future.
Thank you for the rec Tanii.
13th Challenge Completed!
Hi Selbee! It was hard to understand how your lists were made, so I just picked some titles that weren't on any of your lists, unless I missed them!
Hua Jai Sila- a slapkiss Thai lakorn. The chemi between the mains is good regardless of the genre.Mother - a kind of intense show about an adopted girl and her adoptive mother. Includes some domestic violence (not from adoptive mom), so if that's something you want to steer clear of, then skip this one.Cutie Pie - Thai BLLove in the Air - Thai BL- Takara no Vidro - Japanese BL
Edit: Glad you enjoyed it Selbee! :)
I accept Selbee's recommendation to watch Short!
Status: Completed! 6/10 it was fun but not really my type of show.
Hi, Tanii
Thank you so much for the cute rec. The challenge seems to have calmed down a lot in the last couple of weeks: I guess with the holidays approaching, people are busy!
Anyhow, I have a couple of short recommendations for you.
Short is a 4 episode K drama, a romcom taking place in a skating ring. It is winter now, right?
The Boy Next Door is a K short web drama, a sitcom about a couple of boys who are best friends and maybe more?
I am looking forward to my next challenge just NO chinese dramas and absolutely NO horror (no zombies, no killer viruses, no ends of the world!)!
EDIT: Hi, Anne613 - so many options to choose from but...I already tried and dropped a couple, and I know that at least another two are too much of a tearjerker for me. Still, it leaves me with a difficult choice. So that after a long process of arbitrary eliminations, I am left with Love To Hate You which seems to be the closest to my current mood! Thanks, it looks fun!
EDIT 2 : Final verdict 8/10
It was a fun ride though the FL seemed to have highs and lows; sometimes she was smart sometimes she was not. This is purely a romcom which was a bit disappointing: I hoped to see her more working as a lawyer which, with her strong personality, would have been a blast to watch.
Thank you for the rec Anne613! I probably would have never watched it without it: the poster is awful! ;-)

Hello Selbee, I checked out your profile and picked a couple of recs for you.
You can choose one from the following options:
- Even if This Love Disappears From the World Tonight - an outstanding movie
- Maestra: Strings of Truth - one of my favorite dramas
- Quartet - a friendship based drama, plus a mystery
- Love to Hate You - a fast paced drama, plus a badass FL ✓
- Nijiiro Karute - a heartwarming, slice of life drama
- Reply 1988 - a great watch during the holiday season
- Let’s Talk about Chu - a fun watch, quite a unique storyline
- Youth of May - one of my all time favorites, a true tearjerker
- Triad Princess - a fast paced drama, really interesting
- Dali and the Cocky Prince - two polar opposite characters in art world
Open for any recs specially from romance genre, and preferably with a happy ending. Feel free to check my completed drama list to see what I've enjoyed!
P.S. - Please try to ignore my plan to watch list!
Edit: 1
I accept KC Drama LOVER’s recommendation to watch My Sweet Mobster, I appreciate your suggestion and hope to enjoy the comedy!
Status - CW Completed
Edit: 2
Thoughts: It's a fun drama with lots of heartwarming moments. Though, it could’ve been a 12-episode series without the extra plotlines. But overall, it's a pretty decent watch. Thanks for the recommendation, KC Drama LOVER!

Wish Upon A Star:As my schedule continues to be extremely challenging in 2025, it is with much regret that I am unable to commit to keep the We Watch Challenge going for the third year. 😞
I was sorry to read that you won't be continuing with this Challenge, my favourite one of all, by far! I love the concept and the idea behind it: to challenge yourself and watch and discover dramas outside your comfort zone and make friends in the process. Sometimes, that outside turned to be too far for me but more often than not, I discovered real gems I would have never watched otherwise. And even though, in the second year, the participants offered more dramas to choose from and, in return, asked for dramas within their comfort zone ( Which was not the point of this Challenge for me but ,eventually, I did it too, asking for NO horror! lol), the challenge remained interesting and compelling. I met some very interesting and smart people here.
I wish you success and prosperity in your future endeavours. This challenge will be sorely missed I'm sure, (unless someone takes it over) by every regular participant i.e. Hall of Fame member!LOL
Happy holidays!
@ Wish Upon A Star
(I can't quote the long post since I'm on mobile phone)
As a newcomer for this challenge, I feel sad that this challenge is going to end. I'll try to finish my last challenge this week month.
I love this challenge as I could recommend a drama for someone else and received recommendation in return, but it's true that I still can't really step out from my safe zone as I'm trying not to drop any more drama.
I wish you @Wish Upon A Star good luck in everything you pursue, God bless you and lastly, thank you very much for making this we watch challenge. I enjoy it.
Wish Upon A Star:As my schedule continues to be extremely challenging in 2025, it is with much regret that I am unable to commit to keep the We Watch Challenge going for the third year. 😞
Thank you so much Wish Upon A Star for this challenge the past two years! I've enjoyed it a lot and it has made me watch many shows I would have never even touched!
I hope you have the best of luck and success in everything you're trying to do in the future!
If anyone plans on taking over or continuing the challenge please do let us know! 😊
That's the last challenge for me this year. If anyone else still wants to do a challenge please recommend to Anne613 here
Thank you, Wish Upon A Star for running this wonderful challenge. <3
