^Nice! Thanks! Yeah, the next serious drama I'm going to watch will probably be Mars.
Ok Strawberry on the Shortcake is going on the list, and it should be on top. So freaking gooood!!!!!!!
Long Love Letter is pretty darn good too!
long love letter is good..but i don't like the ending.. :( i like IS, LIFE, nagareboshi, and love shuffle the most.. :D daisuki! also great, i think..it's about a mentally disabled woman, having a child... it's a family drama..
I think these also fit into the category of more serious dramas: Ending Planner Cat Street MARS (White Christmas)
I can't recommend Soredemo Ikite Yuku enough. It's been mentioned, but just in case anyone reading this is still not convinced by its awesomeness despite repetitive recommendations. I'd also recommend "I came in search of a flower" a 2007 Korean drama which was quite quirky at the beginning and slowly got more serious and mature towards the end.
Is there an edit function here? I forgot to mention my favourite Korean drama "Capital Scandal" which is a historical drama set in 1930s while Korea was still under Japanese colonial rule. Again it seems very quirky and hilarious at first glance, with pretty costumes and some lame jokes, but the main plot deals with serious stuff (death, nationalism, etc.) with suspense, lots of tearjerkers and some romance.
Ice World The Queen's Classroom
a couple of people mentioned Nobody Knows.. omg I bawled during this movie
Hmm haven't seen to many but I think these qualify -Alone in Love -Thank You -I am Legend Edit: I just noticed this was for jdramas :p lol then I really haven't seen many of those -Liar Game (was more on the mature side) -Love shuffle(only have seen a few eps but it qualifys)
I just realized that three of my top five dramas fall into this category and all of my favorite movies. Idk what this says about me, hehe. Some have already been mentioned, but i wanna vote for them too :)
