Shota's acting was perfect as always and he actually looked good in the blonde. I enjoyed it although I found myself saying "wow, really?!" every time someone did something bad which was a lot! haha
To say the movie; the scenarios, actions and motivations of the characters is intense does not really describe this movie. I came away from it a little stunned and morbidly curious as to whether or not this is a real depiction of life as a ne'er do well, displaced yakuza wanna be in Japan. If so, it's scary and so sad. If this is the life they live...with no moral compass or compassion. Thinking nothing of ...
huge spoiler killing, beating, raping. Even Shota's character, the protagonist Gu, is more than guilty of all of these in the film. ** His acting was stellar. I forgot who he was at times and for an actor that is so recognizable to me in every detail, that is an accomplishment. He absorbed himself into the role and that is talent. But for a movie with no actual story trajectory, it affected me with it's subject matter. and like I said in my review, I don't want to watch it again.
