Japanese Pop and Drama have been quite popular in the Asia and US market for many years. Japanese pop music began its journey, since 1920s. In the early 1990s, the J-Pop and Drama have flourish and world wide known. Since the 1950s, Japanese actors/actresses and directors started to be known in the US, Hollywood. Their automobiles best known as Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Infinite, Mitsubishi, Suzuki etc., started to boom in the US market, and taken world-wide. Toyota still remain number 1 in the world's automobile industry of today. The advanced and professional engineers inspired the US to fly to Japan to learn their technology. In Hong Kong and Shanghai, back in 1960s, used mainly followed Japanese fashions, make-ups, movies and drama styles etc. A few of my favourite J-Pop music (Hip Hop) are Amuro Namie, J-Soul Brothers, Exile the second, DA-ICE,E-Girls etc
Movies from 1990s, became very popular, like Long Vacation (1996), Hero (2001), Buzzer Beat (2009), to recently "From 5 to 9" (2015) popular dramas. Much more in the list of popular dramas.
Just recently K-Pop and K-Drama started to be more popular in 2008. Furthermore, South Korea has been devastated in the Korean war and received foreign
aid at least until the beginning of the 1970’s, while the Japanese
economy was booming and flourishing.
