I AGREE WITH THIS! Totally touched me, different from most medical dramas out there I guess.

Taisetsu no Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta was also a great drama, but totally underrated. And maybe even disliked. :(

All japanese dramas are underrated because the guys are not as hot-looking like in korean dramas....and their romance difference, more pure I dare say. Also the bad quality of the videos doesn't help either. Still....they are so awesome.

will take a long time for me to discuss this because i would have to go back to each drama and see their average score and then see how much it is different from my score to decide whether it is underrated.

attention please 8>7.04 pretty close. .96 is probably within one sd, i think one sd for me shud be close to 1.5ish, which is my sd for anime
juuido little 8>7.32 it was pretty good. rating is quite a good marker for it
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko 8>7.74 also pretty good, really fun drama, with a great OP
nagareboshi 9>7.85 maybe clsoe to being a little underrated, it was a spectacular romance, with a great song, and one of the best villians, i did play the piano cover for the song.
untouchable 8>7.34 kinda close to where i expected this drama to be rated, i felt it was not for the mainstream, but a very slick solid enjoyable drama
zettai reido 7<7.62 when i relooked at my score i was surprised, i thought i had rated it better, but looking at my score, i agree with it, ueto aya is a fine actress but the story wasnt very strong at all in this one, little characterization too, but not underrated nor overrated

Joker Yurusarezaru Sousakan 6<7.75 this was quite a bad drama i recall, only saving grace was masato
triangle 4<7.67 thought it was a terrible drama, dont really recall it too well anymore, but it was really poor and frustrating at times

for me the best j dramas i've seen are Yokai Nigen Bem and Tombi. I like the first one for its beautiful message that all human being have good and evil inside otherwise it isn't completely human and the second one i like it because, for me , is a wonderful story; a true parenting guide.

densha otoko 10>7.51 yes. quite an underrated drama. i am suprised it didnt do very well. it was a masterclass. a special drama. just entirely different from the run of the mill plots. with a very good op to boot. and great acting. and great casting. i am surprised indeed.

shiori haru 8<8.24 just about right, a different drama, great but not anything masterclass
first kiss 8>6.66 perhaps borderlining on being underratd, surprised the score was so poor. it wasnt anything too special either, but the op would always stick in my head, and it was a good solid story

yamato nadeshiko 4<7.74 clearly one of the worse dramas ive watched, was always surprised it wasquite well viewed, until i read mdl and realized that theguys were supposdely pretty goodlooking and popular, which i dont really agree. i dont even think they can act...

smile 9>7.57 i tink a score gap of 1.43 is enuff for me to consider htis underrated. i picked it up not quite suer what i was gonna expect, teh first episode was al ittel akward, but beyond that it was a drama that really challeneged lots of themes to life. i really apprecaited it. it was very well done and realistic and i thought taught a really good lesson. or lessons
nobuta wo produce 10>7.87 this definitely is underrated. it is in anotehr class of its own. 3 big actors. and an amazing storyline of friendship. with a great song. i forgot if it was op or ed.

love shuffle 8<8.13 i felt it was a good drama, alittle messy and too weak in characterization because there were too many, but the plot itself was well contained and i believe had a ncie solid ending to it. the choice of music was interesting and different. but it did develop some interesting themes

stand up. i will have to pick this up, seems like a good drama

jin 8<8.48 this was a fantastic drama, i am surprised i rated it 8, i believe it must have been the incompleteness of the drama, but regardless this puts it in a not underrated position. this drama had a fantastic plot, action, some romance, great song, and just the right touch of history.

jinII 10>8.69 and as appropriately so, most members do think that jin2 is ever so slightly better than jini i felt it was of great importance for the timeslip theory to be elaborated on, and also wrapping up each character's side story in addition to the historical plot and all the medicine in between. this is fantastic, and i think slightly underrated on mdl.

buzzer beat 6<7.97 this story was very predictable. the actors did not do a good jib either. kk was terrible as usual. and yamapi's role was boring. the only upside to this predictable story was the music. otherwise, the romance was uninteresting, the gameplay fixed, and kk just frustrating to watch

zenkai girl 7<7.62 i remmeber watching this and getting exctied in the ealry episodes because it seemed like an interesting plot. it never went anywhere andj ust became a run of the mill drama with two good actors in it

seems like thats all for now, its an intersting thread. im going to chip in w/ more as i see more suggestions

Madonna Verde is underrated. I was really impressed with what they accomplished in just 6 episodes. It really explores the emotions of the characters and the relationships between parents and their children, the lengths they will go to to have a child and what they will do for their children.

I agree with Stand Up!! Its so hilarious and its one of my favorites. I think Kisarazu Cat's Eye series is underrated. I find it interesting and ofcourse its hilarious too i never got bores watching it.

A drama that no one has mentioned yet here I feel that is underrated (especially since it's one of my favorites lol.) But anyways, Galcir. I love this drama due to the strong GTO themes it portrays in each episode and the comedy is just simply great.

Agreed. This drama is unbelievably underrated everywhere, as just many NHK regular dramas that cast not-so-popular actors (in international fandom). The chemistry between lead's mother and her friend (former journalist) is excellent, and mother-daughter is just as good. The second episode is simply mind blowing and the series as a whole is executed very well.

Other series I'd like to add to the list are Suzuki Sensei and Medaka. Both are excellent school dramas, they are different than your generic school-theme stories. Utahime is also decent and underrated, but still not incredible enough to fit the "very underrated" bill.

And I almost forgot 11 nin mo iru!
