Some fun facts, explanations and recommendations

I decided to make a discussion post to share things I commented about this series. Hope they can be helpful!
I explain stuff based on my experience watching C-dramas, especially ancient costume ones, my limit knowledge about China cultures, and some info I read on weibo, movie fanpages etc. Feel free to correct, ask questions, and add your ideas to this post if you like :3

1. About why FL and ML has two names

In ancient time in China, when a child is born, they will receive a name from their parents, this name usually carries parents' wish, hope and good luck for their child. This given name can only be called by family members, husband/wife or very close people that the person allow to do so. It's extremely rude for outsiders to address a person by this name in public without their permission. That's why we see FL's family called her Shou Gu 寿姑. Dou Zhao 窦昭 is her courtesy name ( zì -  字), the official name people can use to address her, though of course since she's a lady it should be Dou xiaojie (Lady Dou) in formal context. This is also the same for ML Song Mo and his Yan Tang name.

2. Snow scenes in episode 1

They are real snow, filmed during snowing time in Hengdian. It is said that movies filmed during the snowing time in Hengdian will be successful, and I really hope this will apply to this series as well ❤️

3. The Crown Prince in episode 1 looks familiar

Yes he played the 10th Prince in Scarlet Heart. Can't believe he's 40 now but looks like 30s here. I hope he's not just a guest role but will also appear in later episodes.

4. Recommendation for other works by the same director of Blossom

Director Zeng Qing Jie is famous for the cinematography In his short-length series. It's nice to see him doing long-length dramas now. These are some of his works with nice plot if you wanna check them out. If I remember correctly, their endings should be all happy ending. Enjoy them while waiting for Blossom's episodes update~

5. Can't find the title in WeTV

WeTV is like Netflix, some titles are not available in certain regions while others do, you need VPN to bypass this restriction. You can use whatever VPN you like, this is just what works for me.

• PC - Urban VPN
  Lots of countries, anti-phishing, anti-malware and malicious ads filter included for FREE
• Phone/Tablet - Kiwi VPN or 1.1.1.1
  1.1.1.1 is good enough for most cases. Turn it on, find the title, hit play movie and turn it off for faster connection if it's too slow. For Kiwi you can watch ads to earn coins and choose many countries.

 Oh, I didnt know that this director also filmed Provoke. it is one of my fav Republican era dramas.

The scene with the crown prince was amazing. I watched this actor in Youth In The Flames Of War.

I knew it. The snow in the first ep looks so damn real. They were Icy and wet all the surface. 

Yep! As someone who comes from a land of ice and snow, you can't fool me with fake snow.

As someone living in Athens where IF we get some snow, it will melt in half an hour by the Mediterranean sun, you can easily fool me even if you show me pop corn flakes hahhahhha

The drama is OK but I find the ML whispered all the time when he spoke to Dou Zhao. Yes, he adores her but whispering all the time?

No way.

Did you notice when the males were together, they were like boys and Song Mo swiftly turned into their leader with General Yan as his advisor.
