I started this thread because korean dramas made us, usually, hate the second female lead.
I saw a thread about the second male leads and everyone has his own prefered ones so what about second female leads?
For me, it will definitively be seung yeon from coffee house: she was the funniest character in this drama and i think it would be better for the drama if jin soo ended up with her. In fact, i lost every interest in this drama when i discovered the end.
The only bearable second female lead I can think of off the top of my head it from Coffee Prince.

She was never bitchy or scheming, and the second couple's love story had its own ups and downs. I found it refreshing for once not to have a scheming female character. I'll have to think a little more before I can give other examples.

I didn't like her but she was bearable like you said: i totally forgot that there's a second female lead in this drama until you mentionned it.
I liked the second lead in SKKS, the little sister of the school president played by Seo Hyo Rim. She was just a naive girl in love with the idea of love, and was never malicious. There were times where I'd wish that she'd get a clue, but overall I found myself sympathizing with her when she kept getting jerked around by Sun Joon.
Yes, i do not undestand, why second girl have to be bithes, while second guys are like angels... wtf is this cliche?
But as hard it is... i found some girls that i liked :)
Call of the Country - dont know her name, but she was team captan and ex grilfriend of the main guy. She wasnt such a bitch, she was clever ang actually pretty funny
Capital Scandal - Cha Song Joo (gisaeng) - god that woman was amazing. Very admirable, cool type of beauty. I loved her till the end
Pasta - Oh Sae Young - she was straight forward, honest and interesting character. I really liked her. She actually helped the main girl to get the guy and as i remmember, they were actally friends. Great person! :)

I feel the same way about Seung Yeon. She was a little naive but she was fun and her relationship with her family was one of the best. I stopped at ep 15 after i knew she wasn't getting the guy.
hmmm this really requires thinking.....

Bong Soon from Iljimae (not sure if she's lead girl or 2nd lead)
And
the-girl-played-by-same-actress in Kim Tak Gu (was she lead girl or 2nd lead not sure)

I agree with you I loved this girl in this drama and I preferred her a thousand times over the other one. I also thought she was gonna end up with jin soo, so I bought the freaking drama to be able to finish watching it...

I agreed with Bong Soon from Iljimae. The actress is Lee Young Ah. She's the 2nd female lead in Iljimae and her character is very nice & funny.
In Kim Tak Gu, she is 2nd female lead too, but she end up with the male lead. It's rarely happened, right.

Another one I can think is Lady Yesoya (SOng Ji Hyo) from Jumong. OMG! I can't decide between her and female lead,So Seo No. She's a very nice lady that can sacrifice her happiness for the sake of Jumong's glory. I'm happy to see her reunite with Jumong at the end of the drama, but at the same time, I'm sad for So Seo No.

I will have to disagree..everythin about her seemed forced..her clumsiness..her naivety..her humor..it was all too predictable..nothin new n fresh..i was infact glad that the lead guy chose the other girl :D (bt then that's just my pov :))

oh yes...i did like her too...i almost forget about her though...
i love all second female leads. i love the schemes and the drama, i cry with them when the loser picks the other girl. i laugh when the second females leads fight back, i guess it cause i understand them. the pain and the angry of not being loved by the one you love it would just crash my world. go second females leads keep fighting.

Tanya (12 Men in a Year)
Jumong : First, i hate Ye Soya so much, but then it's impossible to not falling for her, i felt sorry for So seo na but i Love Jumong to choose Ye Soya.. :) Miss Ripley : Oh Come'on.. is there anybody love Jang Miri?? I hate her to the bone, i really hope Micky was wise enough to love the second female lead, but he's not!! I totally lost interest at this one, the story sucks!! a Thousand Days of Promise : The Fiancee He'd abandoned is such a great girl so i hope she'll end up with him when Soo ae died.. :(
