Dramas I watched in 2020
A list of dramas that I watched during 2020 in order of completion.
-
1. Marriage Contract
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Beautiful story although a bit slow in pacing but I loved the chemistry between the characters and the honest dialogue. Also beautiful open-ended ending was enough for me. First 2020 K-drama that started my quarantine watching.

12. Flower of Evil
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
Honest love. Open communication. Beautiful OST and character chemistry from the main leads to the police crew. Just well done. Also cleverly explores what good and evil is, the tendency of societies and communities to always look for a reason to explain something eg. scapegoating. Very beautiful themes with some peppered in depictions of mental health and how our childhood and others' opinions of us affect our own perceptions of ourselves.

13. What's Wrong with Secretary Kim
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
Cute, easy to watch rom com with a heart. Clever casting and comedic moments that really make you LOL and lightens up your mood. Office crew was also the best as is the other two couples - Manager Bong & Secretary Yang, and Ji-Ah and the one-suit guy. Some office workwear inspo. Park Seo Joon does "arrogant and clueless but very lovable" well. Park Min Young is a great watch.

14. Crash Landing on You
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
-
15. Tale of the Nine-Tailed
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
An enjoyable fantasy drama with a lot of undelivered potential, saturated with fan service moments and over the top product placements #coffeebay.
8/10 only because the first few episodes were great and wove in the groundwork of the story and because the middle episodes where there was action was great. Discounting the ending, it is an 8/10 and that is being quite generous. 7.0-7.5/10 real rating if you aren't forgiving about some of the let downs of this drama.
Other comments:
Underutilised secondary cast and thematic elements (fox bead for example appears only twice, from memory). Secondary characters are treated as dispensable and sacrificial tools in advancing the plot and supporting the Mary sue leads. Ending was disappointing and insulting. Visuals were great though.
