The Best Costumed C-dramas in My Eyes (very subjective list)
-
1. Ever Night
Chinese Drama - 2018, 60 episodes
Just perfect. It amazed me from the very first scene, the one in the desert. Very dynamic and realistic fight scenes, great music, original humor and a hero who is so shameless that I cannot help but love him. For me, a few sentences from this drama are simply classic and have become quotes that I use on a daily basis. Three years after I watched it, I still haven't found anything that's as good for me.

2. The Dark Lord
Chinese Drama - 2018, 48 episodes
This drama has the most intelligent and clever ML I have ever seen. The drama also has great humor, great pace and the most satisfying scene in the history of c-ent. Admittedly, this scene is only towards the end, but The Dark Lord just doesn't let you get bored in the meantime. A well-deserved, strong second place, just a tad behind Ever Night.

3. Douluo Continent
Chinese Drama - 2021, 40 episodes
Fast pace, interesting adventures, very good CGI, great music and heroes, each with an interesting, full of personality. There are a few little things that I can fault this drama, so I can't put it first, but it's still the top three.

4. Joy of Life
Chinese Drama - 2019, 46 episodes
For me, this drama has a huge disadvantage - ML and FL. These two annoy me as a couple and apart. I know that's an unpopular opinion, but they really spoil the whole show for me. However, I have great sympathy for all characters from the second line and beyond. They are really brilliant, colorful and interesting. The way JoL is shot is very innovative (Douluo Dalu is in the same style, but a year younger) and I hope this trend will continue, because I really like this style of shooting.

5. Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy
Chinese Drama - 2017, 75 episodes
Ok, this is called epic drama! The panache of costumes, scenery and photos is simply breathtaking. The story itself is also very well developed and I really support the heroes from my heart. Why so low? Too much water. Certain threads really should be left out because they don't add much to the plot, but they make the series longer and make things terribly boring.

6. The Wolf
Chinese Drama - 2020, 49 episodes
For me, this drama is full of extremes. I can't help but feel that if it weren't for the censorship, we'd have a work of art. Unfortunately, censorship forced the production to eliminate the best, most spectacular scenes and the most interesting plot, and despite the crew's efforts to fix it somehow, they didn't quite work out. The heroes are controversial, but the actors played them great! A favorite plot of many viewers, including mine, is Ji Chong's plot, which in my opinion saves this drama from a complete tragedy. My point is that this cheerful character provides a lot of positive, cheerful elements to defuse an atmosphere that is sometimes a little too heavy. If it wasn't for Ji Chong, I would probably have forgotten about this drama by now.

7. Novoland: Eagle Flag
Chinese Drama - 2019, 56 episodes
Another beautiful epic drama in which I like the fighting scenes the most. They are beautiful. Unfortunately, it is also another drama full of water. ML or FL didn't win my heart. Their history and problems did not interest me at all. But at least I can look at the nice, spectacular scenes.

8. Handsome Siblings
Chinese Drama - 2020, 44 episodes
There is nothing absolutely stunning about this drama, nothing crazy interesting, and it's just a bit of a distraction. It is well played, quite fun and great entertainment for a Sunday afternoon.

9. Fights Break Sphere
Chinese Drama - 2018, 45 episodes
I watched it at the same time as Ever Night, and while Ever Night is still the master in my heart, FBS has lost a lot. It's not a bad drama, it's interesting, fun, entertaining, and I really like XNine as support characters, but again ML irritates me and some elements in this drama are totally pointless.

10. Oh! My Emperor
Chinese Drama - 2018, 21 episodes
A comedy full of idiotic humor, but that's what I love about it. Even the great tragedies are presented here in this way, although I support the heroes, I do not feel mentally tortured. I will not be original, I belong to the group whose heart Beitang Moran stole, although I personally was glad that FL is leaning towards FL and not towards Moran. Very light, fun entertainment.
