Romancevicariously's All-Time Favourite Romance Dramas
This is a list in no particular order of my favourite romance dramas of all time. They made me vicariously experience the feeling of new love again. The leads natural chemistry is a big factor (more than plot / acting / direction etc) for me.
If you are in a drama slump and your tastes align with mine, just binge new dramas to you here. This website does not let me add non-Asian dramas so let me write 2 here:
- Iss Pyaar ko kya naam doon (India)
- Siyah Beyaz Ask (Turkish. Most intense love pair in dramaland I have seen till date)

1. Something about 1 Percent
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Lee Jae-In is my favourite possessive, arrogant male lead and man-child from Dramaland. The leads have natural chemistry to set houses on fire and Contract dating plots are my weakness.

2. My Sunshine
Chinese Drama - 2015, 32 episodes
He Yi Chen's silent brooding 7-year long wait for his lost love and fight against his own pride for his love, is swoon worthy. Wallace Chung knocked it out of the park with his portrayal of ML. The music is great. After watching this series, go read the translated underlying Chinese novel too. Quick read, helps you to double down on feels from the drama. But Drama first and novel later.

3. Reply 1988
Korean Drama - 2015, 20 episodes

4. Luk Mai Klai Ton
Thai Drama - 2000, 20 episodes
Ahh, Andrew's good looks, brooding, smoldering stares and hugs with the FL where its visible that he is drawing emotional strength from her got to me big time! What a good looking specimen of the male species, this guy, sighhhh.

5. School 2017
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Not a single lip kiss in the whole drama but the leads chemistry gave me so many feels.
-
6. My Husband in Law
Thai Drama - 2020, 15 episodes
So much natural chemistry in the leads behaviour. Once they both just nuzzled noses with each other, breathing each other in. And Mark Prin is a dreamboat!

7. Itazura na Kiss: Love in Tokyo
Japanese Drama - 2013, 16 episodes
I am a sucker for Itazura Na Kiss: Manga, Anime and TV series. Keep giving it to me and I will keep taking it up. Make more versions of it. I really loved the way Kotoko and Naoki were portrayed in this one. Count both series 1 and series 2 for a watch here.

8. Sawan Biang
Thai Drama - 2008, 12 episodes
It's a hard plot to digest given the extreme version of slap / kiss that it is but Ken's nuanced protrayal of Kawee melted my heart.
