dramas i watched in 2023

watched: (1/6 — 1/31) 

a very good wuxia!! in love with so many characters, everyone had good dynamics. plot was pretty well paced and interesting (aside from ep 32-25). started the year off strong with this one! i hope the rumor there might be a season 2 is true.

watched: (2/1 — 2/21)

a perfect drama! relaxing, well paced, every character is well written and likable! the romance is very good and their development was always done well.

watched: (12/31 — 2/24)

the best gmmtv bl i've seen! the leads were both interesting and very cute. the comedy was a little too much, but in a loveable way. they never took spotlight off the band friendship over the main couple. a very good couple, they were able to have conflict and resolve it quickly. and they never expected anything out of the other one. i didn't care much for the 2nd couple but it didn't affect anything for me.

i watched it mainly for fourth & gemini. i did enjoy it, i loved the family aspect. i wasn't that invested it the main couple or their exes story. but i did like how everything progressed. they dealt with heart's deaf storyline really well.

I really love the cinematography. the eps are well paced, and interesting. I would say zhang ping is the weakest character even though he's a main character, but all the dynamics were very interesting.

watched: (2/20 — 4/11)

it is enjoyable, but i feel like it was a little boring in most of the eps. there was too much focus on the RSM and not as much romance as I expected. I loved the crime solving team the best!

watched: (4/24 — 4/30)

very enjoyable & easy watch. liked the concept better than the execution though. halfway through I lost interest with the main leads. was a lot of more compelled with the side minor characters. my favorite aspect was the color themed eps.

the parts i liked in the original weren't really there. it was a good epilogue though. If I liked the leads more I would have appreciated it more.

would have preferred them as a university fluff epilogue instead of this au version. they took so much of the nuance and depth tinngun originally had to speed run a body switch. wasn't a huge fan of them taking tinngun's  later scenes to make tiwpor canon either. even how unserious this was, I was a little underwhelmed.

everything is so good in this drama! the cinematography, the acting, the genre. they mixed the comedy and tragedy so well. I am always attached to a supernatural drama that deals with grief. the main three's friendship is so good too.

watched: (5/24 — 6/26)

loved the main leads, loved the romance, love every secondary couple! every antogonist besides chang lan were unbearable though. some characters were so stupid and pointless too. overall very enjoyable watch!

so many interesting characters, and dynamics. the beginning was a little slow, and i didn't love the ending. but this drama grew on me over time. i get why it's one of the top cdramas out there. 

very good spooky drama! kim taeri & oh jung se's scenes are my favorite, the acting!!

in love with the cinematography, the characters, and the story. the ending could have been better, but it didn't bother me as much as others. one of the dramas i was most anticipating and it didn't disappoint. 

honestly felt they kept too close to the original, while they also changed things that made me '???'. It also lacked the emotional depth of the original characters's story. I thought it was an okay adaptation to SOOD, it could have been better or worse. 

i enjoyed it. this drama could be so romantic for two people who were never on the same page and thought they didn't like each other. also the lead had a lot of chemistry together.

wanted to like this drama more than i did. i kind of didn't like one of the MLs. they really should have just broken up instead of what that end was. i liked the cinematography that was mostly it.

always love a silly drama about loss. liked the drama a lot better when eungyeol traveled to 1995. i loved the friendship, i loved almost everyone in this drama except.  i love the whole message about family. wished the epilogue was longer though. 

(10/30 - 12/15) watched it for gong jun, but ended enjoying it for the characters. i liked how well written everyone was. 

(11/9  - 12/25) very watchable, love the protagonist and her reverse haram. i love an unhinged slow burn romance. there were a few unbearable characters but they got their karma in the end.
