1. Crash Course in Romance
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
Crash Course in Romance has a fairly traditional romcom setup – we’ve got opposites attract, contentious meet-cute, a series of coincidences that lead to love – with a genuine heart and an adult approach I really loved. I felt the two leads were very much two adults falling in love with each other, trying to fit each other into their fully-formed lives and personalities. I also loved that the show was so much about parenthood, and the terror that is raising a child in such a competitive environment. While there were a few missteps, especially towards the end, I enjoyed this story and characters so thoroughly that it’s an instant comfort show. I can totally see myself rewatching this one in a few years!
