Watched (2020)
Dramas and films I watched in 2020 in the order that I watched them. Small reviews included!
-
1. Kingdom
Korean Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. It's not my "usual" style for drama, but it wasn't bad. The unique take on zombies was refreshing too.
-
2. Kingdom Season 2
Korean Drama - 2020, 6 episodes
I think I enjoyed Season 2 even more than I enjoyed Season 1! The suspense was still there and the cast is amazing.

3. TharnType
Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
My all-time favorite drama. I've rewatched the series so many times since the first watch and I love it the same - if not more - every time. Mew and Gulf have become my favorite actors because of this series, and I'm so glad I finally got around to watching it.

4. TharnType Special: Our Final Love
Thai Special - 2020, 1 episode
If the show did me in emotionally then this special really sent me on an emotional spiral - but in a good way. It was so nice to see Tharn and Type so proud of their relationship, and it was especially amazing to see Type so openly admitting his love for Tharn (especially to his parents). That was the character development I wanted for him. It won't be perfect and it might be a bumpy road, but I'm so glad he was able to accept in himself that his love for Tharn is more important.

5. Why R U?
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
I wish COVID-19 hadn't affected the filming of this, but I still enjoyed it a lot. I love Saint - and literally anything that he's in - but I think Zee is the perfect costar for him. They work so well together and the chemistry is incredible. I was rooting for TutorFighter from the very beginning. The side couple was cute too, but for me they were a little forgettable. I know a lot of people loved them, but I think compared to the chemistry and fire of Tutor and Fighter it just wasn't the same for me.

6. 2gether
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
The first half of this series was fantastic. I loved the chemistry between Bright and Win, and I felt that Sarawat and Tine were really cute together. However, the last episode (and the last few episodes) were a real disappointment. I'm tired of BL dramas using women as plot devices; 2gether was no different, and it suffered for it. Also - the two of them hug in the end... Really? It was good, but I was definitely let down.

7. HIStory3: Make Our Days Count
Taiwanese Special - 2019, 20 episodes
I'm sad that this HIStory essentially ended all productions of future HIStory stories because while it was great, it wasn't the best one, and a lot of other HIStory projects deserve more recognition and credit. While I loved the chemistry of the main couple in this, I definitely felt that the ending ruined so much of the beautiful work done by the actors from the first episode. The ending was dramatic for drama's sake.

8. Together with Me: The Next Chapter
Thai Drama - 2018, 13 episodes
A lot of people didn't like the continuation of Together With Me, but I really loved it. I definitely have some gripes with aspects of the story, but I do think that it showed a very real portrayal of what it's like to be in your 20s with career and relationship pressures piling on top of one another. Cheating is never okay, but I think all of the characters' stories were done well.

9. My Engineer
Thai Drama - 2020, 14 episodes
I almost abandoned this one, but after watching a RamKing MV on YouTube I decided to pick it back up again and finish it. I'm so glad I did because I really enjoyed it! RamKing is my favorite couple, but I also do like BohnDuen...if Bohn would stop being such a jealous idiot. I'm really looking forward to Season 2!

10. As if You Whisper
Korean Movie - 2019
This was so good. I wanted to watch a good, short queer film from South Korea because I just don't feel like there are enough, but this was so cute. The ending was happy, and the chemistry between the main actors is great. Their acting was fantastic, too. I'll definitely be rewatching this and watching more of this production company's queer films!

11. Where Your Eyes Linger
Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
This was perfection.
-
12. YYY
Thai Drama - 2020, 6 episodes
Not exactly my cup of tea, but I watched this for Talay. It was funny at times and a little whacky, but still enjoyable. I'll watch season 2!
-
13. Long Time No See
Korean Drama - 2017, 5 episodes
This was so good. Both actors delivered a spectacular performance, and the story was well-written. I'm glad I bought this because I'll definitely be rewatching it. One of the best queer films I've seen in a long time; it's definitely an all-time favorite.

14. My Engineer Summer Trip
Thai TV Show - 2020, 3 episodes
This was so much fun! I'm not rating it because it's not something I feel like needs a "rating," but it really was an enjoyable watch. I love the cast of My Engineer and it's clear they get along and have a lot of fun together. (Though it's hard not to ship Cooper/Poy after this, ha.)
