Rider series I've finished
The entries on this list are ranked from most to list favorite with some quick thoughs about each of them
-
1. Kamen Rider Kabuto
Japanese Drama - 2006, 49 episodes
Great show and the Worm were a perfect implementation of the themes of the show, truly the Bleach of toku
-
2. Kamen Rider Ryuki
Japanese Drama - 2002, 50 episodes
Great show, it doesn't shy away from the pointlessness of the conflict or even what one does at the 11th hour.
Also Asakura kicking Shinji's bike made me laugh, I love this man -
3. Kamen Rider Blade
Japanese Drama - 2004, 49 episodes
Phenomenal
-
4. Kamen Rider Build
Japanese Drama - 2017, 49 episodes
Despite having the same issues on a rewatch, it's still a great match between old and new
-
5. Kamen Rider Kuuga
Japanese Drama - 2000, 49 episodes
What if Spectacular Spiderman hadn't been cancelled and was also a cop drama, boila you get this phenomenal show the best Main Rider
and Secondaryin the franchise -
6. Kamen Rider 555
Japanese Drama - 2003, 50 episodes
Really consistent show with a great cast, specially Takumi and Kiba, also very visually interesting most of the time
-
7. Kamen Rider Agito
Japanese Drama - 2001, 51 episodes
While Kuuga focused on a whole comunity dealing with monsters random killings, Agito deals with a specific cast being targeted by a group with an easy to love cast and touching moments
-
8. Kamen Rider W
Japanese Drama - 2009, 49 episodes
Excellent semi-episodic structure (two part cases) with an excellent lead and a good main cast
-
9. Kamen Rider OOO
Japanese Drama - 2010, 48 episodes
Good show
-
10. Kamen Rider Den-O
Japanese Drama - 2007, 49 episodes
Great time and the perseverance through memories being what defines the shows mechanics and powers was super good.
-
11. Kamen Rider Gaim
Japanese Drama - 2013, 47 episodes
Liked the take of the Grongi/Linto from Kuuga being an even blurrier line between the two and how it shapes the story
-
12. Kamen Rider Hibiki
Japanese Drama - 2005, 48 episodes
Enjoyable show
-
13. Kamen Rider Drive
Japanese Drama - 2014, 48 episodes
Good show and I loved Chase, but didn't hit me that hard
Also the humour was agravating -
14. Kamen Rider Stronger
Japanese Drama - 1975, 39 episodes
Best showa Rider period, a show that just keeps upping and upping itself as it goes
-
15. Kamen Rider Fourze
Japanese Drama - 2011, 48 episodes
Enjoyable
-
16. Kamen Rider Zero-One
Japanese Drama - 2019, 45 episodes
While it's finale is literally fragmented into movies due to COVID, it had a solid cast
-
17. Kamen Rider Decade
Japanese Drama - 2009, 31 episodes
Interesting look into the concept of eternal struggle from the showa era, but it can vary between entertaining and boring, Yusuke Onodera is likeable despite what others might say and they really liked X, Apollo Geist and King Dark got large roles in the show and movie
-
18. Kamen Rider Revice
Japanese Drama - 2021, 50 episodes
Liked the whole (important) cast and the family aspect
-
19. Kamen Rider V3
Japanese Drama - 1973, 52 episodes
Hiroshi Miyauchi the GOAT carries an ok show to a phenomenal engame with the Riderman arc
-
20. Kamen Rider X
Japanese Drama - 1974, 35 episodes
Great action and villains, however the stuff surrounding X himself unfortunately drag the show
-
21. Kamen Rider Black RX
Japanese Drama - 1988, 47 episodes
Fun show at times but not the blight everyone thinks it is
-
22. Kamen Rider Black
Japanese Drama - 1987, 51 episodes
Ok show with the classic showa Rider formula with modern effects, tho nowhere near the darkest entry in the showa era everyone thinks it is
-
23. Kamen Rider Amazon
Japanese Drama - 1974, 24 episodes
While X suffered on the human side of it's story, Amazon shines on it's lead and his moment with the supporting cast, but when it comes to the Kamen Riding, it's a drag to watch
-
24. Kamen Rider Wizard
Japanese Drama - 2012, 53 episodes
It had some interesting moments but overall mid
-
25. Kamen Rider
Japanese Drama - 1971, 98 episodes
Episode 84 (the one Ishinomori directed) isn't the best episode, that'd be either episode 4, the boxing two-parter or Ambassador Hell's last stand. Taki's goodbye made the ending work for me since he is the heart and soul of the Spirits manga.
-
26. Kamen Rider Zi-O
Japanese Drama - 2018, 49 episodes
Decade's writting problems but to a bigger magnitude, but with much less engaging cast and while having cameos was fun, they were nowhere near as wll done as Ultraman Mebius or Gokaiger's.
Also Decade himself feels way underutilized despite being the best part of the show -
27. Kamen Rider Ghost
Japanese Drama - 2015, 50 episodes
From mid to awful, Fukuda really loves "muh worldbuilding" and the gaslights Hazegawa into figuring it out
-
28. Kamen Rider Amazons Season 2
Japanese Drama - 2017, 13 episodes
Kobayashi got Hazegawa'd
-
29. Kamen Rider Amazons
Japanese Drama - 2016, 13 episodes
This felt like a terciary or 4th Rider V-Cinext movie (Snyder filter and "gritty") but dragged into a streaming show length
-
30. Kamen Rider Kiva
Japanese Drama - 2008, 48 episodes
It just felt off compared to other Inoue toku shows
-
31. Kamen Rider Skyrider
Japanese Drama - 1979, 54 episodes
Endearing lead in a show that shifts constantly to keep the ratings up
-
32. Kamen Rider Super-1
Japanese Drama - 1980, 48 episodes
Interesting premise, but never clicked with it
-
33. Kamen Rider Gotchard
Japanese Drama - 2023, 50 episodes
At the start it seemed like quintessential mid Reiwa Rider but as it went on it showed that current Rider has issues that go beyond a shitload of Riders (which this season doesn't have)
-
34. Kamen Rider Geats
Japanese Drama - 2022, 49 episodes
The rules felt more like random stuff to sound cool and just kept being dissapointing as the show went on
-
35. Kamen Rider Ex-Aid
Japanese Drama - 2016, 45 episodes
The Kamen Rider Build we have at home
-
36. Kamen Rider Black Sun
Japanese Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
I prefer when Nobuhiko wasn't a character by the end and the finale kept finding a way to get worse every minute
-
37. Kamen Rider Saber
Japanese Drama - 2020, 48 episodes
Sadly a show that stretched too thin with it's characters on a non episodic structure that nothing really hits the way it's supossed to
