Dramas/Movies/etc. That Lost Me
Not all of these are dramas, actually. There's a bit of everything on there. It's rare for me to drop a drama unless it's REALLY bad, or offends me somehow. Otherwise I tend to have a DRIVING compulsion to watch to the end and see what happens. SOMETIMES, and I mean RARELY (I'm looking at you, BoF!) I might go back and watch the rest just to see if my first impressions were right, or if it was just a bad day for something in that drama. (I haven't changed my mind yet, BoF.)
Please Remember: These are simply my opinions, based on my taste. I am in no way implying that differing opinions are WRONG.

1. Mary Stayed Out All Night
Korean Drama - 2010, 16 episodes
I'm sorry, what year was this made? 1810? The premise and subplots are so ridiculous, and some so downright offensive, that the only thing that got me through 10.5 episodes is the beauty of our male leads. And possibly my utter disbelief that ANYTHING that actually made it to television could be THIS BAD.
There are so many idiotic "twists" that there is not a single straight line in the plot. NOTHING ABOUT IT MAKES ANY SENSE. The main story can basically be summed up thus: moron who has to run around telling everyone she's 24 because THERE IS NO WAY ANYONE WOULD THINK SHE WAS MORE THAN 12 is SOLD by her selfish, idiot loser of a father to a guy he knew 20 years ago to give to his son to, IDEK, make him good at business or something, all so that he can pay off his debts and STOP BEING CONSTANTLY ATTACKED BY LOAN SHARKS. (In Ep 1, the loser father CLIMBED OUT THE WINDOW AND RAN AWAY FROM SAID LOAN SHARKS, LEAVING HIS MORONIC DAUGHTER ALONE TO DEAL W/THEM.)
Moron gets a completely unbelievable fairy tale rock-and-roll sex god to pretend to be her husband because... IDEK, she says she'll cook and clean for him, and he's just plain ornery, I guess? The slave owner's son, the slave owner, and the slave's father forge marriage documents and FILE THEM, trapping the moron in a legal marriage against her will. But because she's such a spineless doormat, she decides to make a deal that she... won't actually be married to the slave owner's son for 100 days so she can choose between her two fake husbands (only one is actually illegal and nobody but her and Rock God know their marriage is fake)? She can't be bothered to report any of this to the POLICE, because she doesn't want the guy who sold her off make heirs for the rich family to make himself feel better to go to jail where he belongs? I guess?
Ugh, forget it. This thing is so bad I don't even want to think about it anymore.

2. Boys over Flowers
Korean Drama - 2009, 25 episodes
There is NO REDEEMING a scumbag who sends a bunch of guys to RAPE a girl he doesn't like. Offensive. Even if he didn't do it explicitly, he set up an environment where that was even a possibility students would entertain is enough to make him lower than dirt.

3. Oh My Venus
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
Nope. I was REALLY disappointed in this one, because I was enjoying the characters and the overall story so much, but by episode 13 I realized that the bottom line of this drama was that if you're not beautiful, fit, and able-bodied, you don't deserve to be loved. No thank you.

4. Detective Alice
Korean Drama - 2015, 8 episodes
Just silly. Not even worth it for the sexy Jo Dong Hyuk.

5. 200 Pounds Beauty
Korean Movie - 2006
A 2-hour fat joke with no redeeming value.
