Asadora
Asadora (朝ドラ) basically means "Morning Dramas" and it describes a genre of history dramas that are 15 minutes long (usually 150 episodes) and air from Monday to Saturday at 8:00 am to 8:15 (with a rebroadcast at 12:45 to 1 pm) on NHK General TV. The plot of those dramas mostly follows a main heroine in her journey to follow her dreams. This can, depending on the drama, be from their childhood, youth or early adulthood.
