-
1. Duel
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Yes, it has a slow start. But eventually more and more mysteries will we revealed and suddenly the storyline becomes way more advanced.
Character development - Guaranteed.
-
2. Liar Game
Korean Drama - 2014, 12 episodes
This one was enjoyable already from the start and contained a balanced amout of humor, action and mystery.
What surprised me was the amount of storyline going on "behind the scenes" as per say.
-
3. Hello Monster
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
You will think you understand everything, but really. You don't.
-
4. Strangers from Hell
Korean Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
Amazing acting, genius production and truly an unexpected ending. Some parts will feel unnecessary and slow but it's all part of a brilliant production plan.
Also, did anyone mention the amount of character development?
-
5. Kiss
Thai Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
It's a basic college love drama to waste time with. It's humorus with a nice amout of drama and instances of action. Yet somehow I was still surprised by the ending.
-
6. He's Coming to Me
Thai Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
It's cheesy for sure and includes a lot of humor and over dramatic everyday problems but the storyline has it's twists.
-
7. Parasite
Korean Movie - 2019
-
8. The Handmaiden
Korean Movie - 2016
You think you know what's happening only to loose everything and reevaluate; but still end up not fully knowing. It's great!
-
9. Forgotten
Korean Movie - 2017
Smart way of production that knows the value of secrets.
-
10. Shoplifters
Japanese Movie - 2018
This one was unexpecting but in a totallt different way compared to many other enteries to this list.
Like most of Koreeda Hirokazu's directed films he can catch the viewers attention and distract them from what is really going on.

11. Flower of Evil
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
From the very begining you know something is up because of some details. These hints of future plotline. So you think you understand and you think you have it figured out when the hints turn out to be true. But no. They just made you think you hade it figured out and it feels, in a way, like they're breaking the fourth wall when doing that. Making you part of the investigation and fooling you just like the culpit is fooling the police.
