My Oppas Are Better Than Yours

These are actors I seriously love and will always give their drama a shot just because of name value alone.

  • Kim Nam Gil

    South Korean

Do I even need to explain? He plays the OG conflicted, tortured, morally ambiguous heroes with such charisma. Plus his eyes. God, his eyes!

Best roles: The Fiery Priest, Bidam in QSD, Song of the bandits

Roles where he was good but the dramas didn't capture me for long: Through the darkness, Live up to your name

Sucky roles cause yes my favs can do them too: Island ugh atrocity, man of reason, Emergency declaration, Memoir of a murderer (good film but he was super overshadowed)

    Still, my best man.

  • Yoo Ah In

    South Korean

Will always be one of my most loved no matter what the public opinion says. Truly, an actor of a life time with such duality. He is the master of intense performances with hardly a bad portrayal.

Best roles: Six Flying Dragons, The Throne (fav film of all time), Chicago Typewriter, Voice of silence, Burning, Veteren

Meh roles: Like for Likes, Seoul Vibe and his latest dramas which I couldn't get into but he is still an A+ rockstar of an actor.

  • Jung Kyung Ho

    South Korean

My baby, this one is. So much charisma, so much delicacy in portrayal, and great comedic timing.

Best roles: Cruel city, Prison Playbook, Hospital Playlist, Life on Mars, When the devil calls your name

Meh roles: Crash course in romance, falling or innocence

  • Lee Joon Gi

    South Korean

Your iconic bad boy, it's his slanty eyes that make me ascend to seventh heaven.

Best roles: Flower of evil, Moon Lovers (he carried that shitty drama), Lawless lawyer

Meh roles: Again my life and Arthdal season 3

  • Zo In Sung

    South Korean

He is so dreamy and can do emotion like no other. Not afraid to go to any lengths for his portrayal and has a lot of duality.

Best roles: Dear my friends, It's okay that's love, What happened in Bali, The King

Meh roles: Moving (too little screentime), That winter, the wind blows (his character was an asshat I was just irritated at lol)

  • Ji Chang Wook

    South Korean

I mean is a list even complete without him? He is an incredible actor with a lot of range, unfortunately, he also CONSISTENTLY chooses bad scripts. Still will always have a soft spot in my heart.

Best roles: Empress ki, healer, the worst of evil, The K2, Sound of magic

Meh roles: Suspicious Partner, Backstreet rookie, Welcome to samdal ri

Shitty roles: Fabricated city, Warrior baek dong soo (his character was the LEAST interesting in that draggy show)

  • Ji Sung

    South Korean

    ORIGINAL daddy. Say no more.

Best roles: Defendant, kill me heal me, Secret

Meh roles: The devil judge + most of his recent dramas are not a hit for me

  • Woo Do Hwan

    South Korean

He is the ultimate scene stealer. I swear.

Best roles: Save Me, Mad dog, The king eternal monarch (the only saving grace of that shitty drama)

    'Meh roles: Bloodhound

  • Yim Si Wan

    South Korean

An absolute powerhouse of an actor. Looks harmless but is a beast when it comes to acting.

Best roles: Strangers in hell, Boyhood, Merciless, Misaeng (I fell off this drama for reasons but what I saw of him was gold), Emergency declaration (movie was flop but he was good as the villain)

    Meh roles: Run On

  • Cho Seung Woo

    South Korean

    King of nuanced acting

Best roles: Stranger season 1 and 2, Life

    Meh roles: Divorce attorney shin

  • Namkoong Min

    South Korean

He is a sleeper hit. You expect not to like him but he gets under your skin with his excellence.

Best roles: Hot stove league (One of my fav dramas of all time), Good Manager (The drama dragged for me but he was A+), doctor prisoner (just wack fun) + My dearest (Again one of those shows I fell off but what I saw of him I loved)

  • Chen Kun

    Chinese

He is here because of 70 episodes of The Rise of phoenixes. Truly charismatic actor and sexy as all fuck. So much nuance, so much grace - he is a monster actor.

  • Son Suk Ku

    South Korean

This one is one to watch out for. Has some great roles and some shitty ones but his sex appeal is always on an all time high and he always does the "rugged, rough but gold hearted" vibe justice.

Best roles: My liberation notes, DP, Be melodramatic

    Shitty roles: A killer paradox

  • Sul Kyung Gu

    South Korean

    The OG veteran movie star:

Best roles: Memoir of murderer, Hope, Merciless,
