2019 Chinese Dramas I've Watched

FAVORITE DRAMA OF 2019.

LOVED IT.

If you're looking for a more serious/self-aware drama set in college, with a compelling main character AND enjoyable side storylines that explore the complexity of relationships and love, then yes, 100% watch this. It's not even that long!

I started at around episode 30 but I loved it!! Zhao Liying's best performance that I've seen.

The theme song is still stuck in my head.

Loved the leads.

This is not my typical drama but I enjoyed this family-centered story  about three adult siblings and their father. There's a lot of angst though.

A pleasant surprise!

 I don't particularly like high school/youth dramas so I thought that I might have to skip those parts for the story in the later years, but this was  heartfelt with some depth I wasn't expecting. The characters are really charming, nothing annoying happens.

Not the best from a romance perspective but I really enjoyed the esports aspect, the focus on pursuing your dream,  and the humor.

Fun but too many characters in the way of the leads' relationship, stressed me out.

Pretty boring...

I liked this at first, but it got boring and unfocused from episode 17 onwards and I hated the ending.  

Meh.

This was really promising up until episode 23, after which nothing happened for many many episodes. I finished it to see how it would end.

LOVED the first half, the second half is just emotionally exhausting.

Really enjoyed the charming and funny first half,   got bored in the second half.

Watch if you enjoy overdramatic storylines and villainous characters.

Oh my god, the DRAMA in this one. Evil stepmother? Design stealing? Love triangle/square? Betrayal? The family dynamics for both characters are A Lot.  I stopped watching full episodes after around episode 10 and now I'm just skimming to the parts I care about. Also, the first couple episodes are kind of strange since they take place in a totally different setting but don't let it turn you off - the rest of the drama is not like that.

I skipped the middle portion and don't regret it.

Loved the friendship in this but just didn't care for the main leads. Didn't like the direction of the storyline with the brother.

Disappointing.

Episode 1 was really promising, I liked the premise, and Tao and Wu Qian are such a cute pairing. But it was all downhill from there with weird pacing and storylines that didn't make sense or just weren't compelling enough. I dropped the drama about 15 episodes in and skimmed the last 20 episodes. Tao and Wu Qian's playful bickering was fun to watch but that's it.

Initially fun & hilarious but got bored around halfway through... on hold for now.

Started off cute, liked that the female lead  had a career goal, but there were too many annoying storylines with the ex. Awful final storyline.

HARD PASS.

I was halfway through this and I found it really entertaining until a certain thing happened, and I was appalled. It was manipulative and disturbing and I would not recommend this drama to anyone.
