BL shows I've watched.

When I first found this drama back in July, I wasn't so sure about it. The quality was just so-so. The acting and shots were mediocre. Plus the eps were doled out so miserly. At one point there were months between. However, as the show progressed, it became better across all points. Here at the end, it was just fine. Some of the shots were really good and the acting was on point. My only complaint for the second half of the series was sometimes there were jumps in the story that made me go back to check to see if I missed something. Otherwise, pretty straight forward... I liked the conflict was more internal instead of external. I liked the math to figure love angle. Pretty okay little drama.

Interesting movie with a bit of a twist on the holographic lover idea. It was a bit sad, but it worked out in the end, so definitely worth the time spent watching.

What can I say about this wonderful drama? It's my favorite overall for 2020. It's so cute, I couldn't hardly stand it sometimes. It made me laugh and just feel happy when watching it. It's just a pure, feel good drama. The fact that it's so vanilla the MC don't even kiss is perfectly fine for this show... the emotions were very evident and these are grown ass men... not fiery youths. The restraint is understandable and acceptable. It's a bit hard to explain why I love this show so much... I can only recommend watching it. :)

I liked it so well, I've purchased the manga, if that gives any weight to how much I liked it. :)

I really enjoy KBL dramas. My only real complaint about ALL of them is they're too damned short. I want to boost their popularity so maybe one day someone will make a full length drama; as in 12- 20, 45min eps. ;) Anyway!

Wish You follows the standard KBL formula only using music as the plot this time. Quite a bit of the story is told through the OST lyrics and helps move the story quickly. I actually don't have a problem with this method; it's easy to convey emotion through music. I can't really comment too much because the succinctness of the story. And this one could've really been developed into something much longer. Argh! Definitely 10/10 for the OST for sure.

This isn't really a review so much as a summary. THIS IS A SPOILER POST!!!

I have no clue what the hell I just watched. LOL It's a short movie (1 hour) so I had to do some pretty fantastic mental gymnastics to connect the dots. Long and short of what I /think/ happened. An actor got caught then fired and blackmailed for having a gay affair. Someone apparently died? Then a director who was somehow connected to the dead guy and the actor got him hired again or at least convinced him to act in this last movie? His opposite in the movie was maybe the guy he had the affair with the first time. I honestly don't know. The director then proceeds to mindfuck the shit out of the actor, complete with cameras in the poor guy's living quarters to which he jacks off to footage. (wth??) Then director sets up a death? scene in the movie he's shooting, then at the end the director and other guy have a very, very brief exchange over who gets the guy??? The poor actor just really can't take any of it anymore and ends himself to the horror of both director and the actor's lover. The end.

I guess kudos to China for sneaking out a gay movie? But lordy... I just don't know what the heck that was!! lol

This isn't a top tier, high budget production, but it is sincerely done. I like Pinoy BL for this reason. The actors usually seem 110% committed to playing their roles with no inhibitions. WLW is no exception. I really liked the story overall. It's a better version of Quaranthings by far, imo. There were two side-stories in this mini-drama that I feel were thoughtfully done. I did not like the OST except for the song GAWIN MO AKONG BOYFRIEND, which I nabbed for my car. ;)

Other thoughts:  Johnrey Rivas cries beautifully... no ugly crying here. ^.^ He's very pleasant to look at in general, too. SNS There was a tease for a S2. I really hope so. I'd like to see them back together, but please... I hope Benjo's hair doesn't really stay like that. Eeep! LOL

It was okay. A bit silly in places. I actually really liked the ending.

Okaaaaay. Where to start? This movie sort of reminds me of the old PWP fictions I used to read over on Adult Fanfiction back in the day. Seriously. It's just like that. Very thin plot as an excuse for lots of sex. I'm not complaining; just stating facts. >< I really commend the actors for their very authentic commitment to their roles. The sound FX were legit, too. >< I watched both the blanc and noir versions (just the end of the noir where it changes). I honestly can't really say I liked one better than the other, although, I'm not sure how they end up in the noir version. It's a bit messed up. I'm diggin' it though.

This movie is most definitely not for the vanilla people. Not in any way, shape, or form. Just don't even watch it. For people like me who will watch anything and don't really care, it is what it is and it does what it does very well. I'll just leave it at that. ;)

I watched this sometime in 2020, but forgot to list it here. I can't really remember much about it and don't really want to watch it again, so I'm leaving this without a review, unfortunately.

Another Covid drama, but it was sweet. Short, but cute. I have this sneaking suspicion the second part might be sad. :( The leads had through-the-roof chemistry. I enjoyed watching them.

A couple annoying things about the show... the weird jittery thing with the date fantasy and the recap on the first four minutes of the last ep. This is a very short series, we don't need that much recap. :/

Usually I give a show a preliminary rating after the first few eps and it pretty much stays there. For some reason, I didn't rate this one until the end. I think part of the reason is I'm not sure I how really feel about it. I liked it overall, but it followed the standard formula. Unrequited love, jealous ex-girlfriend, fun/supportive friends, angry dad.... it's all there. What saved this show for me was Mike and Toptap. They're so cute together. The end felt a bit rushed, but it was only 10 eps, so what can you do? 

Overall...pretty standard, but fairly solid. Not going to rewatch.

Lovely little micro-drama. There wasn't anything in it to complain about. Nice, simple, short, and sweet. :)

I made the correct decision to wait for all the eps to come out and be translated. I don't know if I could've borne the wait. lol Color Rush is a beautiful show. All the way around, just lovely. My only complaint, again, is the shortness of it. I'll let it pass this time, because Color Rush felt longer than it was watching it... I don't mean that in a bad way. I mean that it didn't feel rushed along. It was a complete story, and thus, very satisfying. 10/10 all the way. Loved it.

The drama has been my guilty pleasure since day 1. I actually love it a lot. Kim/Copter's chemistry is off the charts... they're so frickin' cute together. I could watch nothing but them all season long. However, we have to watch other story arcs. LOL I love the Tong/Pok story arc. Enemies to lovers: I'm a sucker for it. I just wish their arc was earlier in the drama so we could've gotten more of it.

They ended ep 12 on a cliffy and promised a S2. If they fail to deliever, I'll lose my shit. Not joking. I want the resolution of Tong/Pok's arc and I want to see my cutie-pie, Phai happy. Plus more happy, cute scenes with Mark/Kit. That's pretty much it. 

Though I adore this show, I knocked half a point off for the whole annoying AF Wayu/Pha thing.

Really nice  movie.

S.Korea continues to raise the bar when it comes to BL. I imagine if they were to do a full length series like My Holo Love or Her Private Life they'd leave all the other countries doing BL behind. My only request would be make sure those steamy, passionate kisses are there. To My Star is getting there. This is a fully imagined story. Nothing, in my opinion, was missing. The ending was very satisfying. ~chef's kiss~

I will say, though, to anyone who might read this; I highly, highly recommend waiting for all S.Korean BL drama to air and then binge watch them. This gives you more of a movie experience as opposed to watching 13mins a week, which is horrible torture, imo. It's better to wait, as hard as it is to do so. Especially when Twitter feeds you spoilers. Believe me, I know how hard waiting is, but it's so worth it. :)

10/10 for To My Star. Great story.

Exemplary show in every single way. Sat on the edge of my seat for pretty much every episode. Loved every minute of it. It wasn't a BL to be a BL and I appreciated it. The MCs being gay wasn't the topic of the show and the surrounding characters thought nothing of it. I hope more shows can be like this in the future. If I could rate it higher than a ten, I would.

There is a quiet calmness to this show. The way it's shot, the color palette, the way the actors portray a deep yearning in the solitude of their captivity. It's hard to explain. I liked it very well. I was, admittedly, a little disappointed in the end (especially having had to wait two or three weeks, I forget, for it). I figured there was just no way for them to bridge the gap of time without some sort of supernatural occurrence happening, but one could hope. Alas, that hope was not to be fulfilled. The end was about all you could expect and that was about it.

Waited until all the eps were out before watching them all in one go. This is the superior method for these short S.K. BL dramas. I liked the premise. As with all the others, it's pretty straight forward. There's no fill or padding to the plot. It's a short story in all sense of the phrase. This isn't my favorite of the shorts, but it's not my least favorite either. I did feel emotions while watching and the OST (of course) was 10*. Keep them coming S.K. :)

Absolute perfection. Every aspect of this show is perfect. There's no silly uni drama or childishness going on. This is the high bar to which others must now pass. The scenery, the music, the actors, the overall theme... just ~chef's kiss~. The last episode was perfect... just every single thing. I loved it. Definitely will rewatch. Top tier drama. Go watch it.

6 episodes wasn't long enough. I'm really going to miss these boys. The chemistry is so natural. I really love this series.

I was lazy and didn't review it right after watching. It's been a week or two now. :/

I did like this show. It's pretty low-key, but the yearning is palatable. I binged it, so it was good for a weekend time passer. I went right into the movie afterwards.

This one I remember much better, because I liked it better. This is several years after the short series and the leads are adults. Even though it was a movie, I feel like it covered everything very well and didn't feel rushed. 

The little girl was cute and I actually cried over that aspect of the story. I absolutely loved the elders in the little community. The line that goes something like, "we're all so old here we can't tell the difference anyway" cracked me right up. I loved that!!!! Really recommend this movie. I loved it.

At first I wasn't going to watch this show, but since shows are a bit thin (at time of airing), I decided to go ahead with it. I'm glad I did. It was cute. I'm not sure I liked the manipulations of the entire friend group, but it did push Jin and Bebomb to acknowledge and work through their issues. The support cast was pretty good. I enjoyed watching them.

A piece of art. There's nothing fluffy about this movie at all, but it's just gorgeous all the same.

Another movie sneaked out of China. At least this one made a modicum of more sense than the movie Break. Still, they play fast and loose with the concept of "plot". LOL Or perhaps they should've further developed it into a longer movie. I don't know. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't that great. It passed the time. Watch it while having no expectations and just enjoy the pretty shots; that's about it.

Super cheesy, but fun to watch.

Very well done short movie of an uncomfortable topic. I loved it. Very dark, gritty, raw, and real.
