BL Dramas/Movies With Happy Endings (Mostly)

This is a list of all the BL dramas and movies that I have found that both have a happy ending (or at least most of them...) and are to my personal liking. Anything written here is my personal opinion, and you are free to agree or disagree as you like. As a disclaimer, I do tend to view the glass as half empty, so some of my descriptions might seem more negative than positive, but you could end up seeing the dramas/movies as much better than I have.

The list is currently ordered by my ratings, with similar dramas grouped together. That is, multiple seasons of the same drama with different ratings will be grouped together, with the place on the list consistent with the higher rated season.

Some descriptions may have spoilers, but I will do my best to both warn about the spoilers and to make them as vague as possible.

    1. KinnPorsche

    Thai Drama - 2022, 14 episodes

    10

I never thought I'd rate something a 10, but I loved this drama so much. It was really beautifully shot, the actors were gorgeous, and the story was addicting. I can't even fully process my emotions after finishing it, but I do know that I'm so sad it's over. *SPOILERS AHEAD* It mostly has a happy ending, but not 100%. Also, I just want to point out that the premise of the show concerns the mafia, meaning that there is quite a bit of moral ambiguity. Many of the actions taken by characters in the show would not be acceptable in every day society. I would argue that none of the characters in this show is completely innocent (I'll listen to arguments about Chay, though, lol). This may result in some of the characters' actions serving as triggers for some viewers (TW: sexual assault,  drugs gun fights). This show is not for children.

I should also so that this opinion is based on KinnPorsche La Forte. I did not watch the TV version, so I don't know how that is.

  • The Untamed

    2. The Untamed

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 50 episodes

    9.5

Highly recommend this one. It's not BL, but the bromance is super cute. (Also, it's based on a BL novel, and there are a lot of hidden gems that suggest that the lead characters in the drama are actually more than friends.) The ending is kind of bittersweet, in a way, but I interpreted it as happier than some others. AND, drunk Lan Zhan is life. Just saying. XD

  • The Untamed Special Edition

    3. The Untamed Special Edition

    Chinese Special - 2019, 20 episodes

    8.0

This is the shorter version of the Untamed. Honestly, if you have time, I would watch the longer version. It gives more details, and the story line is easier to understand, but this version is good enough if you want to watch something shorter.

  • Word of Honor

    4. Word of Honor

    Chinese Drama - 2021, 36 episodes

    9.5

While The Untamed may be the OG for me, Word of Honor is a close runner-up. Wen Ke Xing and Zhou Zi Shu will forever live in my heart right next to Lan Zhan and Wei Wuxian. (Also, this once again isn't technically BL, but we all know they're together.)

*SPOILER* The ending by itself is kind of sad. It's suggested the one of them supposed to die in the normal episode 36. Make sure to watch the additional episode if you don't want to be sad!

  • Together with Me

    7. Together with Me

    Thai Drama - 2017, 13 episodes

    9.5

This drama is one of my all-time favorite BL dramas. It follows three couples: Knock and Korn, Farm and Bright, and Phu and Kavitra. It mainly follows the development of Knock and Korn's relationship from best friends to boyfriends after they drunkenly got together one night. It's complicated by Knock's girlfriend as well as Knock's own indecisiveness.

Personally, I could have done without the addition of the two extra couples, as I was mainly interested in the relationship between Knock and Korn, but they did help to add to the storyline a bit, so I can't complain too much. Overall, the drama was interesting and the main couple was really cute together. The couple didn't seem all too concerned with the fact that they were portraying a gay couple as two straight guys and seemed to have some genuine chemistry (especially in contrast to some of their awkward encounters in the sequel, Bad Romance, which was actually produced first).

My biggest issue with this drama is that there are some obvious plot holes that I'm not going to describe (you'll have to watch to see what I mean). They just kind of made me go "really? REALLY?" But they kept the drama going for a little longer so I guess once again I can't complain too much. Also, usually the events revolving around these plot holes were often quite cheesy and overly simple. It would have been nice to have a little more depth.

I highly recommend this one, but please, if you've watched Bad Romance, come into this one with an open mind. Although it's not a perfect drama by any standards, it's at least much better than the other one. I really wish there would be another season.

  • Together with Me: The Next Chapter

    8. Together with Me: The Next Chapter

    Thai Drama - 2018, 13 episodes

    7.5

I recommend this one, not because it was great on it's own, but because it offers a conclusion to the Bad Romance and Together with Me storyline. Unfortunately, I think I hyped it up too much in my own mind, because it did not live up to my expectations, but maybe that's just me. Like the other two parts in the series, this one lacks heavily in the storyline department for me, but maybe other people felt differently when watching.

    Taiwanese Special - 2021, 1 episode

    8.0

This doesn't have a happy ending, but it's just a spin-off episode that takes place between the first and second season so it's worth watching for the sake of continuity. (I don't actually know if it'll matter for understanding the second season, but I still recommend it.)

  • Papa & Daddy

    13. Papa & Daddy

    Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes

This is a quick and easy watch that was just so heartwarming. It was incredibly refreshing to watch something that focused on the relationship of a couple rather than how they got together.

  • To My Star

  • The King and the Clown

    16. The King and the Clown

    Korean Movie - 2005

    9.0

This one is not explicitly happy, nor is it explicitly BL, but I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to put it in this list. For a long time I avoided watching it, because I heard that it was relatively sad, but I am regretting that so much after watching it, for multiple reasons. To start, Lee Joon Gi. He's one of my favorite actors, and I don't know how I could have not watched the movie that shot him to fame. For another, it's a classic and has a really interesting storyline. Although it's sad at times, it's not overwhelming. I highly recommend this one. It's definitely one of my new favorite Korean movies.

SPOILERS on how it is not exactly happy: One character is blinded with hot irons as a punishment. One character tries to commit suicide. A friend of the main characters is killed. The ending is up to one's imagination.

  • HIStory3: Trapped

    17. HIStory3: Trapped

    Taiwanese Special - 2019, 20 episodes

    9.0

I started watching this drama on a whim before going to sleep one night, and it was a mistake. Once I started, I couldn't stop and quickly became obsessed. I'm honestly SO sad that it's over. I wish they would make another season, although I doubt they will. Also, Chris Wu and Jake Hsu are super cute together. I totally got new biases out of this drama. XD

    *Spoiler*

The ending to this one had a bit of a bittersweet tinge to it, but it was still overall happy. It basically just suggested that the couples will eventually get their sweet endings after the drama has ended.

  • HIStory2: Right or Wrong

    18. HIStory2: Right or Wrong

    Taiwanese Special - 2018, 8 episodes

    8.5

This was so super cute. If you like watching family-type dramas where one or both characters have children, this is a great drama to watch. After HIStory3: Trap, this was my favorite HIStory drama.

  • HIStory2: Crossing the Line

    19. HIStory2: Crossing the Line

    Taiwanese Special - 2018, 8 episodes

    8.0
  • HIStory3: Make Our Days Count

    20. HIStory3: Make Our Days Count

    Taiwanese Special - 2019, 20 episodes

    8.0

SPOILER: The ending for the main couple is REALLY NOT HAPPY. I cried through 75% of the last episode. Also, there was quite a bit of gay-blaming from the parents of the male lead on his boyfriend, which was quite frustrating to watch. Their story line felt like more of the traditional negative BL stories such as those the likes of "Boys Love," where the relationships are always doomed for failure.

The other couple is cute and lovey-dovey, though, so at least there's that.

  • HIStory: Stay Away from Me

  • HIStory4: Close to You

I'm recommending this primarily because of Licheng and Muren. Their story was generally cute. However, I could not get over Yong Jie did to Xing Si. It was just not okay.

  • Not Me

    30. Not Me

    Thai Drama - 2021, 14 episodes

    9.0

Not Me is a really unique BL drama. It's doesn't just focus on the relationship between the two main leads, but instead has a social message. This is combined with mystery and action. I honestly couldn't wait to watch it every Sunday as it was premiering.

(Also, I'm aware that just by adding this drama to the list, I'm potentially giving a big spoiler by saying that the ending is happy, but I really don't know what to do about that in the context of this list. Sorry)

  • Long Time No See

    31. Long Time No See

    Korean Drama - 2017, 5 episodes

    9.0

I avoided watching this for so long because I couldn't help but think that there was no way this could have a happy ending. I was wrong. It was not even close to sad, and I also thought it had a really unique storyline. It was a good watch!

    33. His - Koisuru Tsumori Nante Nakatta

    Japanese Drama - 2019, 5 episodes

This one is short and sweet. It's an easy watch, and you could easily finish the whole thing in one afternoon. Even though it's short, it goes at a slow pace and the BL is very light.

  • Hello Stranger: The Movie

    34. Hello Stranger: The Movie

  • Hello Stranger

    35. Hello Stranger

    Filipino Drama - 2020, 8 episodes

    8.5

This was the first Filipino drama that I watched. Although it took place during Covid-19 and, as such, was based on the web camera concept, it was not disjointed like I expected it to be. The story moves along nicely, and the characters are sweet.

  • Life: Love on the Line (Director's Cut)

    36. Life: Love on the Line (Director's Cut)

    Japanese Movie - 2020

    9.0

Both versions of this are good, but I would rate this one slightly higher. The reason being that, to echo something others have said, the extra couples minutes really helped to make the ending feel more complete.

  • You're My Sky

    38. You're My Sky

    Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes

    9.0

I really enjoyed this one. The cinematography was really different. It was kind of darker and seemed more dramatic than most BL dramas, which I found really refreshing. The story wasn't perfect. There were some jumps in the timeline that I felt led to gaps in the continuity of the story, but I liked the actual content of the story and found it entertaining. I definitely recommend!

  • Color Rush

    39. Color Rush

    Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes

    9.0

Both of the lead actors in this were relatively new, so the acting wasn't the greatest, but I loved the concept. I thought it was really interesting, and I would love to see a second season where the discrimination is further explored and we get some answers on Yeon Woo's mother.

  • Color Rush Season 2

    40. Color Rush Season 2

    Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes

    7.0

I really liked the second season of Color Rush, but I did have some thoughts about it. First of all, I didn't really mind the story line changing with Go Yoo Han disappearing. It was a little silly, but it was refreshing. A lot of BLs seem to suggest that the main characters fall in love and can't fall in love with anyone else ever again, but that's not like reality, so I liked that Yeon Woo had a potential other partner. That being said, I wish they had shown greater resolve for giving him a new partner. Either have them get together or don't. It was slightly annoying how they set them up. Also, (potential spoiler) they never really resolved what happened to Go Yoo Han. It was very frustrating. Another thing was that, as usual with these shorter BL dramas, the story line felt rushed and felt like there were gaps in its storytelling. It felt like it needed just a bit more. Like, for example, I completely did not understand the role of Yeon Woo's friends in this. How did they even know to do what they did? Overall, as I said, I liked the second season. I liked the actors and their dynamic. I liked that somethings got resolved that were left hanging in the first season, but I just wanted a bit more.

  • TharnType

    41. TharnType

    Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes

    9.0

I really looked forward to watching an episode of this every week. It always brightened up my Mondays to be able to watch this. However, there were two complaints I had about this drama. 1. Tharn reacted to Type's bullying with sexual harassment, and Type was a little verbally abusive towards Tharn when they started dating. At least, that's how I interpreted their actions. They abused each other. 2. As with Love By Chance, there were mentions of rape. For my comments on this, see the Love By Chance post.

    TRIGGER WARNING: Mentions of rape

  • TharnType Season 2: 7 Years of Love

    42. TharnType Season 2: 7 Years of Love

    Thai Drama - 2020, 12 episodes

    6.0

I don't even know what to say about this. It didn't really have much of a story and only served to show how little the main characters trusted one another.  In the end I think I was only watching for Khunpol and Champ, and considering how small of a part their story was, that is saying something. Also, Leo and Fiat were just annoying. I'm recommending it because it completes the TharnType storyline and because the ending was happy.

  • Love by Chance

    43. Love by Chance

    Thai Drama - 2018, 14 episodes

    8.5

I had a love hate relationship with this drama. The main couple, Pete and Ae, were super cute, and I loved watching their relationship grow. On the other hand (there will be some major SPOILERS ahead, so watch out), the drama made light of some really serious issues that I was not comfortable with. Things like emotional abuse, rape, and attempted sexual assault were just thrown in to seemingly make things more interesting. I've noticed that this is not completely uncommon in Thai dramas, and I'm not saying they cannot be included ever, but I do think they are absolutely not to be made light of just for watchers' entertainment. Rather, they should be treated as serious issues that have real consequences. "Love by Chance," at times, does acknowledge the seriousness of some of these offenses, but I do not think it takes it far enough at other times. It was not consistent in this aspect. That is, it acknowledged the long-lasting psychological effects that experiences such as rape could have on someone, but it often includes other forms of abuse, such as manipulation, with little or no repercussions.

  • Love by Chance Season 2: A Chance to Love

    44. Love by Chance Season 2: A Chance to Love

    Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes

    8.0

This was cute. There were some frustrating elements, such as the complete collective amnesia all the characters seemed to have surrounding the start of Tin and Can's relationship from the first season, the complete omission of Pete's character other than some flashbacks, and Ae, who spent about a third of the show completely distraught over Pete. Other than that, I liked seeing Tin and Can get together and build a (generally) trusting relationship with one another and that basically everyone got a happy ending. If anything, I just am still frustrated about what I mentioned about the first Love by Chance season, and (SPOILER) I hate that Kengkla got a chance in the end, no matter how regretful he said he was.

While the story was a little cliche, I still really enjoyed it and liked the actors. Honestly, I wouldhave rated it higher if not for the really lack luster kissing scenes. I don't expect romance dramas to have kissing in them, so when there is one and the actors are so very clearly not into it, it's more of a detractor for me than a plus. I think an embrace would have sufficed in those cases and come off as more meaningful.

This drama is just really cute. All the characters are total eye candy, and there are some really interesting aspects to the inter-character relationships that make it better than some other dramas. The story revolves around Arthit, the head hazer, and Kongpope, a freshman at the school where Arthit is a hazer, and their journey from antagonizing one another to falling in love. The relationship development between the two is slow and somewhat atypical from a romantic perspective, but it's cute. It's really fun to see how their interactions and emotions change as the show progresses. I can't wait to see how everything works out during the second season.

    *SPOILER*

First of all: eye candy. Every single lead in this drama is beautiful. Overall this drama just leaves a cute and fuzzy feeling. It was adorable. Probably the biggest miff I had with this is some of the awkwardness between the leads. The male lead who played Phana clearly felt uncomfortable with some of his interactions with the other male lead. I'm hoping that it's just a matter of time, and that in the second season (if there will be one) they will get more natural, since they didn't have many sweet, couple-like interactions for a while within the first season.

  • 2 Moons 2

    57. 2 Moons 2

    Thai Drama - 2019, 12 episodes

    7.0

The ending was mostly happy. 2/3 of the couples had perfectly sweet endings. The third was iffy and *Spoiler* had a cliffhanger. It's the type of cliffhanger where it felt really unfinished and rough, as if they basically ended the story abruptly at the climax. Ok, rant over. Onto the elephant in the room: the remaking of the original 2 Moons with a new cast and a storyline that (I heard) more closely follows the novel. Honestly, they did a decent job with the new cast. There were cute together, and I liked seeing where the story progressed after the ending in the first “season.”  That being said, it was extremely difficult to not compare everything where it aligned with the first season. The parts of the story that they reproduced from the last season felt choppy and rushed. Combined with a cast of rooky actors, it was disappointing to see such a disjointed attempt at retelling those parts.

The new actors… did their best. Unfortunately, the actors who played Pha (Ben Brasier) and Wayo (Earth Reungritkun) had no chemistry, IMO. Also, it was hard not to compare this Pha with the old Pha (Godt Thanit). Looks aside (because let's face it Ben and Godt have very different looks), I wasn't convinced by Ben's acting. When he and Wayo were supposedly at odds in the beginning, whereas Godt just seemed naturally conceited, Ben seemed too nice. I'm not necessarily saying that Godt is better a better actor, but his drastic switches from tough guy to puppy when around Wayo felt a lot sweeter to me.

The other actors all grew on me towards the end. I might even go so far to say that I liked the new Ming and Kit (Joong Aydin, Nine Boonsatheepakdee) more than the other two (Kim Khemmonea, Copter Kerdthongtavee). (KimCopter fans, please don't kill me.)  = I loved how I actually got to see Forth and Beam's relationship, too. I would rematch this whole drama just to see these couples again.

  • Kinou Nani Tabeta?

    58. Kinou Nani Tabeta?

    Japanese Drama - 2019, 12 episodes

    8.5

I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to like this drama. When I read the synopsis, all I could think was, "this seems kind of boring," but it turns out that I actually really enjoyed it. The main couple was pretty adorable, if not kind of awkward. I could definitely feel the hesitation coming from at least one of the two actors in playing a gay couple, and the drama was definitely trying not to get anybody's hackles up  when it came to the subject matter. There was very little contact between the main actors, despite the fact that the characters supposedly lived together. It sometimes felt like they were more roommates than lovers, especially towards the beginning of the drama. There was thankfully some character development, and *spoiler* they felt much more like a couple at the end.

Overall, it was a decent drama. It tackled some of the problems that gay couples face in current period Japan. I'm not going to say that it was super groundbreaking, but it definitely did a nice job of presenting a modern day couple that is faced with everyday issues that couples nowadays might actually face such as fear of discrimination, parental acceptance or rejection, and more. Furthermore, there wasn't some overdramatic, unnecessary plot twist where one of the main characters is seriously injured or traumatized, which is common in Japanese dramas of this nature. Even better, the over-acting was kept to a minimum. It was a simple and sweet drama with a cute relationship, good friends, and delicious food.

I am including this one in this list, but I wouldn't really classify it as BL. Yes, the main character is gay. Yes, he has a relationship with a man. But, the story focuses more on his relationship with a female classmate and how this relationship helps him to grow to accept himself as he is, rather than as who he thinks he should be. SPOILERS AHEAD Accordingly, the ending isn't happyin the sense that he lives happily ever after with the man he loves. It's happy in that he grows as a person and develops strong relationships with the people around him, who accept him and support him regardless of which gender he prefers.

I wasn't a super big fan of the storyline for this one (certain characters were just being super annoying and creating problems), but the ending was so cute I honestly got a little teary-eyed.

(Spoilers ahead) Loved this drama up to about episode 12. Win and Bright seemed to really embody Sarawat and Tine up to around episode 11. It was super cute, but then their chemistry seemed to take a nosedive, and by episode 13 they seemed more like bros than boyfriends (if they were going to do a high five, they might as well have just done a fist bump. It would've had the same effect). It was actually quite disappointing, because I just wanted to love them, and previously I did.

I do have to say, though, Win's acting in those last two episodes was fantastic. The emotions he showed were just perfect. Despite the last couple episodes, I really do hope that there will be a second season. It was just so unsatisfying. I want a better end.

I really enjoyed the storyline of both parts of Seven Days. It was both cute and entertaining. Really, the only complaint I have for it is that I think they should have gone with a younger male actor to play Seiryo Touji instead of Hirose Tomoki. Although Hirose fit the role well in terms of looks, he just looked much older standing next to the other male lead. Although there wasn't a huge age gap between him and the other male lead, Yamada James Takeshi, Hirose was supposed to be playing the younger role, so he should not have looked as old as he did. (Yamada does look pretty young in general, though, so it was kind of an uphill battle from the start for Hirose, but still.)Furthermore, they were both supposed to be playing high schoolers, so it might have been better to cast people between the ages of 20-25 instead of 25-30. I personally would have believed them a little more, then.

    *SPOILER*

I still liked the second installment of the Seven Days, but rated it lower primarily because of the kiss scene that takes place during this half. In this scene, the lack of chemistry and the sheer awkwardness that the actors clearly feel about acting in BL is obvious. After that, my belief in the characters plummeted, which I didn't appreciate because I really wanted to like the entire Seven Days story.

  • Takumi-kun Series 1: And The Spring Breeze Whispers

Not going to lie, this was probably the most lack-luster of the Takumi-kun Series. This is the only movie from the series featuring different actors playing the leads, Takumi and Gii, and, it may just be my own personal bias towards the actors from the other four movies, but it seemed like the actors from this first movie had little chemistry. Combined with that is the typical Japanese BL movie way of somehow simultaneously over-romanticizing and downplaying the physical relationships in BL couples, which overall just gives the movie a boring undertone.

That being said, the storyline is interesting and a little heartbreaking but hopeful, which is why I still put it in this list. Takumi has experienced some serious trauma in the past, and Gii really helps him move forward and be able to look towards the future with an open heart.

As many have said before me, I do believe the movie version was in fact better than the drama.  I really wanted to like the drama better, because I tend to prefer dramas over movies and because I really like New, but the drama was chaotic in a way that the movie flowed much more nicely. In the end, though, I do recommend both the drama and the movie, BUT I also recommend not watching them back to back. I would give time between both so that you don't end up comparing them too much.

This was a long-awaited BL drama focusing on two leads played by the popular OffGun couple. It was a relatively lighthearted drama. Each episode was named after a specific movie, and in that episode, something relating to that particular movie occurred. It was an entertaining concept that let the writers include a lot of things that would typically be called "cliche." Instead, these cliche moments were used as references to the various films while simultaneously relating back to the character-specific traits of the series in that all four main characters were film majors.

That being said, I could have done with fewer of these cliche moments. They were cute and often entertaining, but I felt like I didn't really need to see those same scenes from those movies reenacted in this BL drama. Furthermore, there were plenty of other cliches not necessarily related to the movies being referenced, and the KhaiThird storyline (played by Off and Gun) was pretty similar albeit longer to one they acted in during another drama they starred together in. Moreover, I don't know how likely such a story would be with (SPOILER) someone having such a drastic change in personality.

Overall, I liked this drama and would recommend it. It wasn't too deep, it was an easy watch, and the characters had some really cute interactions. Plus, there are way too many cute GIFs and videos of Off and Gun in real life that made me want to see them acting together in something.

This one is not BL, but there is a side couple who are gay (Mark and Ou Wen). Overall, the entire story is light and cute. It's hard to watch this show without feeling all fuzzy and happy. Honestly, I just watched it for the side couple (and if you don't want to watch the whole thing, I think it's pretty easy to find just the clips of Mark and Ou Wen, so that's also an option), but the rest of the show was so wholesome I didn't mind watching the straight scenes, too.

I don't know how I feel about this one. It wasn't a bad drama, but Kiyoi treated Hira kind of badly, but Hira, who had extremely low self-esteem, seemed to like the attention of it? I honestly don't know. Their whole dynamic kind of threw me for a loop.

This drama provided a unique take on BL dramas by focusing much more on the story with just a hint of romance thrown in. It was truly refreshing, and the story itself was interesting with lots of unexpected twists. That being said, I did have trouble enjoying it to the fullest. Not because it was bad, but because I had trouble dissociating Tan and Bun from Korn and Knock. After they've portrayed these characters in the Bad Romance series for sooo long, it's difficult (at least for me) to see Max and Tul together as any other couple. So when I was watching I wasn't sure if I just couldn't get their previous work out of my head or if I just wasn't thrilled with how they were portraying the characters in this drama. Either way, it was an unfortunate downside- especially since I LOVE them together.

I actually read the manga version of this long before they made it into a movie, so I was pretty happy that I got to see a live action version. I think they did a relatively good job in transferring it from the manga. The actors fit the roles well, and they seemed to stick pretty closely to the original story.

This isn't technically a BL drama. It's actually a family drama, but there is a gay couple in it that grows more central to the story as the series goes on (but don't get too excited by this- there are over 60 episodes, so it takes a while). I actually really liked all the characters in this, and the characters outside the gay couple were actually interesting to pay attention to as well. I just wish that the gay couple was a little more natural with each other. At times it was pretty obvious that they were two straight guys pretending to be gay- especially with the actor who played Tae Sub. He just seemed outright uncomfortable at times.

Ok, this isn't actually BL at all, but rather very heavy bromance, but it's based off of a BL novel and the two lead actors have amazing chemistry (even if the story itself is a bit disjointed and even outright silly at times).

*Spoiler* the ending is more bittersweet than happy. It's definitely not bad, though.

Overall I liked this drama and its sequel well enough. They were both a little slow moving, with both main male leads slowly coming into their feelings. I don't have many complaints about them. Probably my biggest concern revolves around the somewhat lacking chemistry between the two male leads. It definitely develops as the story goes on, but in the beginning it's just kind of sad. The other thing that I wasn't a fan of concerns some of the supporting characters. There's an aspect of bullying concerning this one character, Jead, that eventually completely changes her into a bully, and she just changes too drastically. I thought it kind of cheapened her character. Finally, the first episode of the first season was just outright bad. You definitely need to make it past that first episode to see any of the good points that actually exist in the drama.

About the good points. The storyline was overall interesting. The characters were generally likable. Besides the initial awkwardness between the male leads, the actors were pretty decent. For many of them, this was one of their first roles in a drama, so they clearly did their best, and it showed. I've actually watched the whole drama multiple times, so it definitely has a lot of rewatch value. I think it's a great entry into Thai BL dramas.

Just so you know, this drama was much steamier than any Japanese drama I ever imagined. I guess the title kind of gives it away, but yeah...

Also, spoiler, but the ending was kind of a "I'm not sure if I would consider this happy" ending, but it wasn't outright depressing. Plus, *spoiler for the sequel/prequel, "Mood Indigo,"* it is suggested that they do end up together so I guess you could technically say it was happy?

This was one of the first BL movies I watched, and it got me hooked. The two main characters are sweet, and it's nice how the movie shows both characters' reactions to the things that faced, rather than showing the story from just one side. My biggest complaint is probably that they are a little awkward with each other at times- more like they're friends who are just pretending to be lovers.
