He has been an A-list actor in Korea for years and recently entered the international spotlight due to his starring turn in the smash hit series “Squid Game,” which became a global phenomenon after its release in 2021. He became the first Asian actor ever to be nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, he was also nominated for Best Actor at the Golden Globes, the Critics’ Choice Awards, and the Gotham Awards.
