Kuo Shu Yao is a Taiwanese actress, host, and singer born in Taipei, Taiwan. She began her career in 2008 as an outdoor model and was soon discovered by her agent, Jonathan, leading her to enter the entertainment industry. That same year, she became an assistant host for the video game information program "Shu Wei You Xi Wang" (數位遊戲王).

After her father passed away from a heart attack in May 2007, Kuo started working part-time while studying to help support her family, taking jobs as an administrative assistant and at a beverage store.

Kuo dated Liu Jian Chung (劉建忠) for three years and later began a relationship with Jin Yang (金陽) in 2013, which lasted until their breakup in May 2017.

In 2021, she founded her clothing brand, MYAME.

On May 27, 2024, Kuo was reported by multiple media outlets for having unpaid management fees, totaling nearly NT$50,000. Despite being urged to pay and receiving a registered letter at the end of 2023, she did not accept the documents, resulting in a forced execution order becoming invalid due to non-delivery. When legal action was threatened, Kuo settled the outstanding fees. Additionally, she was found to have accumulated numerous packages in public areas, which she had not picked up, prompting the management committee to issue a notice in the elevator requesting their collection, which she subsequently removed.
