Lee Hyo Soon, known professionally as Lee Eun Ha, is a South Korean singer, lyricist and musical actress. She graduated from Gyeongnam Girls' High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Applied Music from Dongduk Women's University. She debuted in 1973 with the song "Welcome to You" but it was not aired on any major TV station so she had to wait until 1975 to make her first TV appearance when her second song "Still You Are My Love" released by TBC. The song became an instant hit and she dominated the mid-1970s and 1980s with pop ballad music and disco dance pop music, earning the nickname "The Queen of Disco". After several stations were forced to merge due to the new military regime in 1980, her career suffered greatly as she couldn't promote as much. With the creation of KBS, she had fewer appearances on TV until she swept most of the music awards in 1984 with her song "The One Who Couldn't Love" which revived her career. In 1990, her father made several mistakes in debt guarantees for his construction company which resulted in a debt of 2 billion Won. She tried paying some of the debts but by 2015 it had increased to 5 billion Won and she declared bankruptcy. She worked as much as she could to earn some money but suffered a back injury which forced her to reduce her activities. In 2021, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and is recovering in a temple in Gyeonggi but still appears on TV every now and then.
