Satoko was a Japanese actress active during the Showa era. Born in Shioiri, Yokosuka, Kanagawa, she moved to Tokyo during childhood and attended Bunkagakuin Junior High School after graduating from Hikawadai Elementary School in 1923. She developed an interest in acting at Bunkagakuin and, following graduation in 1927, ran away to Kyoto to visit her friend, Irie Takako, an actress. Unable to meet Irie, Satoko returned to Tokyo, where she worked at a café in Nakano-machi and connected with Noda Takao, a screenwriter at Shochiku. This connection led her to join Shochiku in July 1929, where she debuted and became a leading actress by 1931, later being promoted to a junior executive position.

In 1932, Satoko moved to Nikkatsu Uzumasa but left in 1934 to join the Zenshinza stage troupe. She returned to acting as a freelancer in 1935 before becoming a contracted actress with P.C.L. In 1937, she gave birth to a son.

During and after World War II, she resided in Seijo, Setagaya, Tokyo. In 1951, she married Japanese-American novelist Tasaki Hanma and relocated to Chuo-Rinkan, Kanagawa. After retiring from film with her final appearance in The Clever Wife and the Forgetful Wife at Shin Toho, she divorced, converted to Catholicism, and was baptized as Maria. Satoko passed away from lung cancer on October 23, 1972, at the University of Tokyo Medical Science Research Institute Hospital in Shirokanedai, Minato.
