Decent Mini Drama

Sweet story about changing fate and time travel. The male and female lead have good chemistry and good kisses. The acting was good too. The costumes and sets were very well done for a mini drama. The story made sense, although I wish there had been a few more seconds spent on the ending.

You could feel the FL character's desperation to change fate and have things return to how they should be, time and time again. When the FL first gets transported to the past it is supposed to be 7 years after they'd met and the ML was bitter because she'd vanished 7 years ago. The second time she appeared it was 7 years in past to where the met for the first time. Finally she gets transported to the past even further back when he was 7 years old and she saves his life. The ending is a bit ambiguous but not all bad.

Abrupt ending

I liked the ML and the FL a lot in this and was enjoying the story which seemed to be well put together and I looked forward to the episode updates, but after watching the final episode I am rather disappointed. UNLESS there is a S2? Because the end was so abrupt. if there is a S2 I will increase my current rating.

FL falls down a cliff and time travels to the past where she meets a handsome stranger. They end up getting caught by some bandits and FL proves her resourcefulness and they are let go. The second ML is the son of a rich merchant and sets up the FL with her own restaurant. The ML is caught up in political intrigue etc. The food looks good in it, but as I said if there is not a S2 coming then the ending made me annoyed.

Short Drama Minimun Angst

If you're looking for something shorter and a costume romance drama/comedy this is certainly worth a watch. The FL and the ML have good chemistry. The character of the FL is good without behaving like a 5 year old girl.

I watched this on Wetv, impatiently waiting for the next episode. Now I have seen it all, I found it quite enjoyable. There were funny moments where the Queen kept fantasising what she wanted to do with her new husband.

The ML character was a bit innocent in realising that she was flirting with him. Because she had several male concubines, he also doubted her sincerity. This led to misunderstandings between the couple.

I liked the actor that played her main concubine. (Zu Zin Chi) He reminded me a bit of a younger Xiao Zhan. I think they could convincingly play brothers in a drama.

Decent For A Short Drama

I wasn't too peeved at the ending and I think perhaps I should have been. The ML and FL go through a lot together and are eventually parted by death. I thought I would get that out there early so that if you dislike unhappy endings you know the score before watching it.

I thought it was a good story for a short episode drama, however about 2 thirds through the body count started to pile up and it started to resemble a Shakesperean tragedy in terms of death. It's wise not to get too attached to any of the characters.

The deaths that affected me the most was the the prince's servant and friend and the princess's maid. They were a cute couple and sacrificed themselves for their master/mistress. Overall the acting was good and if you don't mind a sad ending it is worth a watch in-between a longer show.

Beautifully filmed but left me a bit disappointed

I wanted to title this review "They All Died Unhappily Ever After" I do not fault the acting or production etc, my main problem was with the story. I prefer happy endings, but I am on board with a sad ending if the story warrants it. If you don't like dramas where they all die and no one gets a happy ending then maybe this drama isn't for you. I was interested in it because of the male lead who I have seen in several other dramas and he always gives a good performance. Going in, I had no idea if this would have a happy or sad ending. By the time I got to episode 18, I had my answer. That there were 2 additional episodes after, I thought what could be next? The 2 episodes at the end were like pointless fillers and didn't add anything to the story as most of the events had been explained in previous episodes.

Those that deserved to die, died, but too many people that didn't deserve that fate did as well. The cast did a good job with their acting. Li Fei and Patrick Quan were both good as the hero and the bad guy. Patrick Quan is very good at playing good and bad. Li Fei looked stunning as always in traditional costume. I'm rather glad he does a lot of costume drams as he has the look for it.

Story-wise, the ML and FL went through a lot and didn't even get a happy ending. The struggle for power etc as well as both men being in love with the female lead just made it all seem a bit futile in the end. Maybe that is what was trying to be portrayed. As I said before episodes 19 & 20 were pointless except as extra material as the story had already ended at that point.

Sweet Romance

Loved the game sequences in the early episodes. The ML and FL had great chemistry together. Not too much angst either. The music was good as well. First drama I have watched where it's an age gap story, will have to check out some of the others out there.

Overall good cast good music and a heartfelt romance. Secondary couple had a much harder time getting together. There were obstacles along the way for all of those involved. ML college room mates were funny, especially when a misunderstanding on their part led to some amusing situations.

Starts off formulaic but has a twist

Definitely a bit different from what I was expecting, but the ending did leave you with some hope. Yes the ML lost one of his legs and was in a coma for a long time, but there was that little twitch of his finger to show that he was maybe coming round.

Has potential for a series 2 although I doubt that would happen. It could have his rehabilitation and the challenges to their relationship as he adapts etc. It suffers from the disjointed feel of a mini series but it's interesting to watch if you want something short to watch.

Terrible subtitles

Another of the time the subtitles didn't make sense and made the viewing a bit difficult, but you could still get the gist of the story. I thought the music was very nice. Not seen the ML and FL in anything before but they had good chemistry.

It's one of those stories where the FL goes back in time, but not sure if it was to do with her near death experience or the book her ex boyfriend wrote. You do find out that she has been in a coma for a couple of months at the end of it.

The ending is kind of happy but with a touch of ambiguity.

Well acted

From what was said in the subtitles this is based on a true story (I think) These dramas are a challenge in that they only have an hour to tell a story. I thought that I hadn't seen these two young actors before but I had. Both have quite an impressive resume.

The story is a little dry. I think in modern times it might be hard to understand how a young man would be prepared to give his life for some passages in a historical record. At the same time, truth is important.

The MLs played their parts well. The regent crown prince was the perfect mix of arrogance as well as feeling for his childhood companion, but in the end he still felt he had the right to rewrite history no matter what.

Triggering Tale of Abuse

I've seen stories of this type before and this was nothing new, except maybe romantic music playing on one scene where he almost strangled her....wtf. Angry CEO had a one night stand with girl but can't remember who she is. Meanwhile, he has an axe to grind with the doctor who caused his father to die. Marries the daughter of the doctor who unbeknownst to him is the girl he had the one night with. Lots of marital abuse ensues. Another girl comes forward pretending to be his one night stand so he will divorce his wife and marry her and she can get access to his wealth.

His wife finds out she is pregnant but he doesn't believe it's his because as far as he knows they've never slept together. After all the abuse she's been through she cuts her wrist and "dies" only after all that he finds out he was the father. There has been a mention of a S2 to this, hoping it doesn't happen.

Strange Movie

This has a bit of a tragic bittersweet ending, so if you are not a fan of those type of endings (like me) you might want to think before you watch, but to be honest everyone mentioning that they didn't like the ending made me want to watch it more.

At least with this being a short movie and not a series, you won't feel so cheated at the end. The ML and FL did a good job with what they had to work with and the effects were good.

A bit sad that they don't really end up together as he gets turned into a "tree man" so it kind of makes their story a bit pointless in the end. She's left pruning his branches, wishing he would wake up and tell her what he wanted to say before he became a tree.

short time filler

The story was a bit confusing at times, but thar can be the way of these mini dramas. The FL was a writer who was under pressure to get her story finished. She falls asleep in front of her computer and wakes up in her story.

FL is a ghost bride, married to the dead son of the family because her parents were framed for something they didn't do. The dead groom has 2 other brothers. The FL is considered ugly because of some kind of scar/skin condition which looks different in nearly every scene. Even with the scar she still looks pretty.

There are some crazy moments with references to the modern world where FL does a modern dance in a mini dress. The ML she falls in love with is a bit inconsistent in the way he treats her at times. The second ML is a bit more mysterious and it is so obvious that he is the masked villain, it came as no surprise when he finally unmasked himself.

The ending was very ambiguous with no real conclusion unless they plan a S2. I thought the 2 ML and the FL did a good job at acting with what they had to work with.
