Worth The Binge
This drama was soooo slow paced, but I loved it all the same! Younian and Miaomiao had so much chemistry! It really would have gotten a 10 if it was shortened into less episodes. Nevertheless, I did binge this drama a lot, and I probably would have complained if it had been 30 episodes.Angel and Kuanlin were really great, despite being so young! It's rare that you get to see people playing characters older than they actually are, so to see them playing older was interesting. I do think that they are pretty immature for their age, but honestly, at like 22 years old you're still pretty much a baby and learning, so it's realistic I would think.
I loved how this show explored other people's relationships too, and everyone got a happy ending. I really loved Yichao and Xiaoyue, they were adorable. Xiaoyue did annoy me when she liked Younian, but when she met Yichao, everything for me changed with her. She's adorable and she really suits Yichao.
Hexin and Kaituo's matchup initially annoyed me, but I do think they look good together. They are both pretty similar, and I think that's what made them clash a lot, but they are good together. Seeing Kaituo moving on from Miaomiao was really nice to see, because I did not want him to get with her. This might have been my first drama where I didn't like the second lead, but I did grow to like him better at the end.
The teacher's romance was a part I didn't like that much because I feel like it didn't add anything to the story. Tbh I skipped a lot of it at the end because I didn't like it, but I think the actors are cute. Especially the fashion teacher I like her character, just not the romance.
Younian and Miaomiao's conflict at the end was probably the thing most keeping me from making this a 10. I feel like they are both in the wrong, but I don't think it was a good enough reason for Miaomiao to break up with him. Especially because for the entire time they had known each other, he had never did her wrong. This was the first time anything like that had happened. But I do understand her frustration, and her crying in front of him, and him not saying anything did send me. Still, I feel like they didn't have to. But I guess it made it a little more interesting.
They got back pretty quickly after she returned, but I was sad he didn't propose to her at the end. On the rooftop of his mom's project that he finished. I would have loved to see him propose, and also an actual kiss. They did actually kiss but it was covered up by people going past them. I'm assuming it's because they both hadn't had their first kisses yet, but I'm still sad I never saw it lol.
I really liked how they handled Miaomiao's glow up to. Unlike other dramas I've seen, it was pretty natural over time, and there was no overnight now she looks like a princess kid of ordeal. The way that Younian fell for her before her glow up was so adorable. He really is such a green flag. Where can I sign up for a man like him??? She gets so pretty as the show goes on, I only wish she kept her wavy hair. The wavy hair was my favoirte, and then it got less wavy, then she cut it. But overall, I can't complain.
There were some missed opportunities to progress their relationship, like when he got her from LASIK. He could have held her hand, but he didn't. Nevertheless, I loved it. There was a lot of problems I had, but I still loved it.
Anyhow, really good show! Such a slow burn, but when they do get together, it's a lot of bliss. Would totally recommend!
